Sophia froze, feeling blood rushing to her ears. It couldn’t be true, right?

Hanging on the wall with their arms tied and pinned above their heads were the unconscious figures of Maya and Alecia, their hair falling over their faces, giving Sophia a clear view of the blood staining Alecia’s hair.

“Maya-,” She whispered out. “Alecia,” Sophia turned to Chase. “Chase-what-what did you do to them? Please leave them out of this. They-they – they all have nothing to do with this. It’s-it’s between me and you,”

Chase knelt down in front of Roman and wrapped Roman’s blonde hair around his fingers, tugging his head upwards so he’d be able to match his stare. “Should I tell you an interesting story, Costello?”

Sophia pleaded. “Chase, please,”

Chase ignored her and continued speaking. “Your choice doesn’t matter anyway. I’m still going to tell you the story. So this is it. He even planned a disguise for them and a particular time where they would escape from the program organized by their college under the devil’s nose, but then, destiny didn’t want him with her. The devil was two steps ahead of him and so, his plans got ruined at the last minute. He was taken away when he got to her Nana’s place to take her and didn’t find her. The innocent girl was taken away by the devil. At the same time, his little sister was killed along with their other best friend. They were gone,” He made a pet sound and Sophia gasped but he ignored her. “They were taken away because they betrayed the man who ruled their city, and that was the perfect punishment for betrayers. Did I tell you what happened to the family of one of the best friends? They were sent off too.
