CHAPTER LXXVIII
Sophia inhaled sharply, unable to utter a single sound.
Another grunt from Chase and a wheeze. Blood poured on her jeans from the new fresh wound on Chase’s left side.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion and silence. She didn’t hear the screams or the sirens until her own voice cut in, piercing the veil and ringing out in her ears. She let out an ear splitting scream and gripped Chase’s front in desperation.
They were being gunned down, out in the open.
“It’s okay,” Chase rasped out. “I’ll protect you,”
Then suddenly, he was ripped from her as his men pulled him up. Sophia reached out and managed to hold his fingers. She was tugged forward, with security covering her from all sides. They were stirred into the SUVs and once inside, she jumped as several bullets hit the car but they never broke through.
The car was bulletproof.
“Go,” Alessandro ordered the drivers. “Go back to the mansion,”
“No, let’s go to the hospital, “Sophia cried out.” Chase was shot. He’s hurt,”
“Go,” Chase sat up, leaning his head back. “This is nothing. I’ve had worse,”
In less than forty-five minutes they reached the mansion and Sophia ran after Chase who was unfazed by his wounds, her stomach churning at the sight of blood staining the ground.
Once inside, she released Charlie from its confinement and searched for Chase. She found him in the kitchen, discarding his jacket and dress shirt, not wincing at all.
She watched everything with an incredulous look.
Alessandro was next to him, filling the sink with hot water as another guard ran in with a first aid kit. She watched Alessandro preparing the piers, disinfecting them and leaving them to dry on a clean towel.
He was going to pull out the bullets himself. Her stomach churned again.
It seemed they had done that a lot of times. They have seen worse than that.
“Go to my bedroom,” Chase ordered stoically. “Wait for me there,”

Immediately she walked out of the bathroom, Sophia jumped at the sight of Chase seated on the couch in his room, sipping the red liquid from the wine glass he was holding. She held the towel tighter on seeing that he was stark naked as the day he was born.
As if feeling her gaze on him, Chase turned towards the bathroom and ran his eyes over her, watching the way her wet lips parted as she stared at him. His eyes followed the trail of water that dropped from her wet hair which laid on her shoulder until it disappeared beneath the white towel she had wrapped around her small frame.
He returned his eyes back to hers. “Take off the towel,”
Sophia frowned. “What do -”
He cut her in. “I said take it off,” He dropped the glass and stood up, his cock limp between his legs. He stalked towards her in slow, predatory steps anger swirling in his eyes. “I said take off the towel,” He snarled.
Sophia gulped and moved backwards till her back hit the bathroom door, and a gasp left her lips. “I – what did I ahh,” She flinched when he slammed one of his palms against the door above her head.
“Will you take off the towel, or should I help you do it?” He seethed out, leaning his face closer to hers that she had to push her head deeper against the bathroom door.
“Chase,” Her shaking hands went to his chest, and she placed her tiny palms against it. She gulped, her eyes darting to the bullet wound on his shoulder. “How -” She looked back into his eyes. “How’s your injury? You – you should have rest,”
“How should I rest when you want to leave me?” He asked, his other hand skimming beneath the towel as he tugged on the material. “Hmm? Tell me,”
“I-,” She swallowed. “I would never leave you, I swear,”
Without allowing her to fully register what was going on, Chase raised her left leg and placed it on his right thigh the second he pulled off the towel, discarding it on the ground. “You were going to leave me today. You took Charlie away,”This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
“No. No,” She gasped, trying to make him understand as her eyes widened. “I – I’ll never leave you. I wasn’t planning on doing so, trust me,”
Without taking his eyes off her scared ones, he rasped out. “I don’t believe in trust,”
“O-okay then. By whatever you believe in, I didn’t plan to-ahh,” Her words were replaced by a painful cry which left her throat the moment he roughly shoved his cock inside her pussy.
She wasn’t even ready. It was so painful.
“Chase-,” She bit down on her lip and gripped his shoulders tightly as tears blurred her vision. “Chase -”
He didn’t listen to her. He was blinded by rage. All he saw was red, and all he felt was anger. He pulled out of her and slammed back inside her without letting her take a breath. “You listened to that bastard. You agreed to leave me,”
“I-,” Sophia tapped on his shoulders, tears already falling down her cheeks. “I – who are you -”
He cut her off. “Volkov. You collected his card. You agreed to leave with him,”
Sophia blinked her eyes as the familiar name settled in her mind. She had heard that name somewhere. She couldn’t remember. “Chase who mhh – is he?”
Chase gripped her hair and tugged her head backwards. “The name doesn’t ring a bell? Well, the face would, “Thrust.” He has a scar across his left eyebrow and eye, “Thrust.” He has brown hair, “Thrust.” He wore a black suit the day he met you in the shopping mall when you went with Valerie, “He dipped his head and sucked on her collarbone, moving his hips in a fast pace, not giving her space or time to adjust to his size. “Does that ring a bell? Do I need to call his name fully?”
Her brain picked it up instantly. She remembered the man with a scar across his left eyebrow down to his cheek. He was the same man that had walked in on her in the bathroom the other day. He was the same man that gave her a business card and asked her to call so she could be able to send Chase to prison for killing her friends and murdering his family.
How did Chase find out about them meeting?
