CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
“Dylan, one on one street fight, one round, 12 minutes!” One of Dylan’s workers here in the gym that he owns yells.
“What’s the catch and who’s the challenger?” He yells back while punching.
“Dude, what is your name?” I did not answer. I walk to the ring where Dylan is. He has trained with Wallace I guess.
“I’m the challenger, friendly match.” He stopped punching and looks at me then grins.
“You’re lowkey to ask a fight huh. I like your tactics. Not like your short-tempered friends. They just punch directly. By the way, how did you come up here? You’re not a customer downstairs either.”
“You don’t need to know. So, do you accept it or not?”
“One hour, I just need a rest first.” He takes off her boxing gloves then he gets down to the ring. “You can warm up first also, so you don’t embarrass yourself.” He taps my shoulder and walks to the fridge and gets the water bottles. He drinks it and poured the remainder of the water into his head.
‘Fuck him. He is just ahead of two abs than me. But my six-pack abs are bulge than him. His chest is more pleasing than mine but I can match it. And I’m taller than him either.’
Dylan owns this gym. He’s fighting in the street fight also. He has his own coach, two assistants that his friend. His gym has consisted of two floors. The first floor is a gym that opens to the other businesses while the second floor is for him only.
I once watched his match and I bet for him too. There I obtained my hummer, which I give to Jace when I lost a bet when Hailey filed an annulment to Phoenix. I purchased it using the bet that I win with Dylan.
Dylan is a good fighter, He always wins. No wonder amongst Dy’s siblings he’s the one who has a lot of money. As far as I know, he loves buying houses to give them to the orphan that his family helped if he collected the money.
He’s a photographer too and a painter. He sold his work to an exhibit and sometimes he gifted it to his business partners. But damn him. I still do not admire him because he steals Yara from me.
“Dy, phone calls, it’s Yara” he looks at me first before he gets the phone. He answers it whispering while nodding.
“Cluster!” He yells.
“Yes, master?!”
“Drive Yara to the hospital.” My ear tingled with what he said. Hospital? What happened to her?
“Ok, on it.” He throws the key to Cluster.
“You fucker, don’t drive recklessly, when I see a scratch to her I will burst one of your teeth.”
“On it.” He said and leave.
He stands up and comes close to me. “Let’s not wait one hour. Let’s go.” Invite me and he climbs the ring first and I follow through. I attach the pro-boxing glove to my hands. It’s not liked the boxing gloves that use for boxing, this one is open to the finger and palm and has foam in the knuckles.
“Dylan, do you guys need a referee?”
“No need Wallace, this is just a friendly match. Just timer will do for the time. I just grant him so he can recoup to me” ‘damn him. So full of arrogance himself.’
“Ready?” he asks
“Game.”
“Timer start, Wallace.”
“One, two, three, game!” Wallace yell. I punch quickly but he dodges it.
“Make it fast a little. Your slow, that’s why you’re always left behind,” he said to annoy me so I punch again and he still dodge it. “You’re too slow, that’s why someone left you.”
I clench my jaw and tackled him, he glued me to the side of the ring. We exchange punches that we both fall to the floor but I recover first and I’m on top of him. I was going to punch him but he blocks my hands. He locked my feet and I can’t stand because of that but strained to reach his face just to punch him but he always avoided it, but I was the one who always get punched.
‘shit, what comes to my mind and I challenge the pro-street fighter?
“So, what now? Is that all you can get? That’s why they always left you because you don’t have a strategy.”
“Fuck you!” I slide to lay forcefully remove our feet but he recovers fast. I am at a disadvantage because except my feet are locked I’m in the bottom two.
“Timer!” he yells
“Five minutes!” Wallace yells back.
“It’s been five minutes but you still didn’t hit me and you’re locked. Surrender now and I need to return home to my Yara bearing my child.
“Fuck you!” I push him made him fall. Even I’m top of him and did not recover well and was not in the right position, I still punch him that hit him two times on his face.
“Fuck! It’s bad to joke the lover boy!” he complains. “But it’s ok to hurt me, my sweetheart Yara will tend to it later,” my anger rose and I hit him one after another.
“Ten minutes!” Dylan did not move and he just blocked and I took advantage of it. He sometimes dodges it but still, I hit him in other parts of his body. I punch him continuously and I did not release him.
“Thirty seconds!” Wallace yells, and Dylan grin. “Twenty, nineteen, eighteen,”
“Ok, you’re it’s too much.” He hurls me and because I’m focusing on him I got out of balance. I intersect to the ring and lean to it. My eyes widened when he stands up as nothing happen.
I am going to stand when I see him turn around, too late to dodge when his toes hit my jaw. I went splat. I feel like someone slap me some plank to my face.
“Time over!”
I think I see some stars revolve around my head. I fall down to the floor and when I tried to stand up I get dizzy and lie back. I spit when I taste iron, and its blood that came out of my mouth, and I gradually feel the ache in my Jaw. I want to stand but I’m too dizzy to do it.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“It’s ok, it’s not going to shake your brains out of it so don’t worry. It’s half of my strength that I put it through your jaw. It’s like the same of your punches.” And he laughs out loud.
I feel something touch my shoulder and it’s Wallace.
“Are you ok?” I nod at him. “You’re just having a shock that’s why you feel dizzy. It’s normal for the first-timer. It’s Dylan’s signature scissor kick that can knock out his enemy, but what he did to you is half of his strength so you’re just dizzy.” Is his kick that powerful?
“Wallace, you’re in charge here and I will fetch my Yara sweetheart! Take care, Zeus. Till next time.” I just shake my head because of my stupidity.
