Both Lynne and Kaira paced in daciana’s room as the medicine man attend to her.

She has been unconscious for the past three hours now.

Kaira was frightened, she had to inform Lynne about it and they called in the medicine man.

After he was done examining her, he turned towards the two terrified females.

“I thought you were here when I told her not to stress her arm” he directed his question to Kaira.

She nodded her head in response without uttering a word.

“And you still allowed her worked so hard to the point of break down?” He questioned again, Kaira frowned at him in confusion.

“I did, I made sure she doesn’t engage herself in a single work today until our supervisor came, he ignored her arm and gave her loads of work to do”

She defended herself scared that this might all turn to her instead of that beast of an animal Carey who was started it in the begining.

He didn’t even care to check up on Daciana or he is scared to.

He had better not show up, Kaira had planned on killing him if anything more than ordinary happens to her Queen.

When Lynne heard about what Carey had done, she couldn’t believe it.

The fact that their Luna is a slave doesn’t give him the right to treat her rashly.

Carey has gone overboard.

She haven’t been this scared in a long time.

“Well, as it is now. She passed out due to too much stress, the pain from her opened arm added to it too” he informed.

“When will she be awake? She has been lying there for too long” Kaira asked worriedly

She doesn’t want Daciana this way, it’s not productive to her.

This few days she has spent with Daciana was no doubt one of the best days in her life.

“It will take some hours before she wakes up or probably tomorrow but please when she wakes up, make sure she heals completely before giving her any work to do”

He advised.

“Yes, thank you so much for attending to her” Lynne spoke to for the first time since they’ve been in the room.

“It’s a pleasure, you do not have to thank me and lastly, disturbance is the last thing she needs, there should be no much noise in her room” he instructed and left the room.

Kaira sat beside Daciana’s bed taking her hands in hers. Her eyes welled up in tears seeing her favourite person lying down on the bed unmoved.

This is all Carey’s fault, Daciana wouldn’t have been in this condition if he hadn’t stressed her out for the reason Kaira knows nothing about.

Kaira doesn’t know what Carey wanted to achieve from that but he has succeeded in making her Queen unconscious.

She has been trying to think of the reason why Carey overworked Daciana but came to no conclusion.

Lynne placed her hand on Kaira’s shoulder to gain her attention.

“Do not worry my dear, I believe Luna will be fine” Lynne assured.

Kaira sniffed her tears and nodded gingerly.

“I hope she wakes up soon madam Lynne, I won’t be able to forgive myself for not being able to stop her from the very start. I am to be partly blamed” she said.

“It’s not your fault, you shouldn’t be hard on yourself. I will go look for Carey to explain why he did this to the Luna of all people, please take care of her till I am back”

Kaira nodded her head and Lynne stepped out of the room.

She laid beside Daciana’s unconscious body and whispered, her hands tightly entangled with Daciana’s.

Alpha Connor and Dolphus came back towards mid morning.

With his people bowing to him, he smiled back even when he found himself in great pain.

His shoulder from yesterday was getting worse, the pain is becoming unbearable for him which made him wonder what kind of poisonous substance was used in it that it hurt like very much.

It hurts even more than when the silver was used on him.

When they entered into the tower, Dolphus accompanied him to his quarters.

“Get the medicine man immediately” he growl. Dolphus quickly nodded his head and rushed out of the room.

Alpha Connor removed his shirt the moment he sat down, he felt like the shirt on his injury was adding more pain to him.

He closed his eyes tightly to relieve him of the pain but he knows it won’t work. It has never worked.

What was the poison? This is the first time in his life he haven’t healed up from any injury.

Whatever they used in that arrow must be a very strong weapon.

Thinking about it now, Alpha Connor thought he had made Alpha David’s death very easy.

He could have used the method they used on his brother before he finally gave up. They didn’t kill him, they tortured him to death.

He gritted his teeth for not thinking about it before now.

But then, Alpha David is dead for good. Even the moon goddess will be proud of Alpha Connor because he knows killing that man was the best thing he has ever done. He knows that himself.

Soon, Dolphus came in with the medicine man trailing behind him.

“Good morning Alpha king” he greeted with a bow.

“Yes, yes, attend to my wound quickly, it’s hurting so much” he said in a serious tone.

“Yes Alpha king” the medicine man replied and got to work.

He checked his injury and exhale with a frown.

Where did the Alpha king went that he got this injured with strychnine. It is one of the most deadliest poison that kills the wolves fastly.

Where was he and how come about this? He wanted to ask but he dared not. He is in no position to ask such a personal question.

“You were poisoned with strychnine Alpha king, it is very deadly. I am glad you survived it before you got here”

He said.

Alpha Connor really didn’t know what poison that is but he nodded anyways and allowed him work on it.

After sometime of rubbing a leaf he had no idea what it represents, the medicine man spoke up.

“I have cleaned the poison, I will apply some herbs but it will take sometimes to heal” he added.

Alpha Connor hurled, he hates it when he is injured and now, he has to carry the wound for sometimes.

“How many days will it take to heal completely?” He asked groaning in pain.

After the clean up, it became a bit better but the pain was still there.

“Probably a month Alpha king”

Alpha Connor hissed how can he bear seeing this thing on his shoulder for over a month?

He nodded his head dismissively at the medicine man when he was done applying the herbs on it.

He felt better and relieved.

“I will be here every morning to apply the herbs on it for you Alpha king, please take good care of it else, it might get worse”

With that, he sauntered out of the room without letting the condition of the Luna slip from his mouth.

“How do you feel Alpha king?” Dolphus asked after the medicine man stepped out of the room.

“Better than I was feeling a while ago” he replied relaxing his back on the arm of his chair.

Dolphus nodded his head without saying anything else and just stood by the Alpha king.

“Dolphus, get Lynne in for me and then, you can go and rest. I won’t call on you for the rest of the day unless it’s important” Alpha Connor said waving his hand.

“Yes Alpha king, thank you” Dolphus bowed and left leaving Alpha Connor all alone in his room until Lynne came in.

“Welcome back Alpha king” she greeted politely.

“Thank you Lynne, how has been the tower?” He asked.

Lynne’s shoulder tensed up at the question. She bowed her head trying to form the words to say.

“Everything has been in order Alpha king, we all took care of the tower before your return” she answered fearing the question that might come next.

Alpha Connor nodded his head satisfied to hear that from her.

“That’s good to hear, thank you for taking care of the tower while I was away”

“It is a pleasure to be of service to you Alpha king” she replied with a smile on her face.

Alpha Connor felt like he was forgetting to tell her something until the thought niggled at him.

“That female, I want you to escort her in. Bring her with you as soon as possible”

Lynne gulped in fear, the question she feared he’d ask. He did asked her of Daciana.

Guilt washed over her for not being able to protect Daciana.

After waiting for Lynne to answer him and did not hear her speak nor leave.

Alpha Connor titled his head towards her with a raised eyebrow.

“Why are you not leaving?” He asked.

Lynne bowed her head in embarrassment, how is she going to explain to him that she has been unconscious since yesterday?

“I am so sorry Alpha king, the Luna, she…”

“What are you saying Lynne? What happened to her and why are you apologizing?”

Alpha Connor asked and stood up abruptly facing Lynne who looks petrified.

She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out.

“Tell me, what made her unconscious? She was fine before I left here” he paused and took a deep breath which only aggravated his anger.
