His Luna

After we found the treasure, we immediately went back to our place, Jace was right, everyone was already back, and seems like they are waiting for something.

“They’re here!” they all shot glancing at us, “OMG! I knew it, that’s why we can’t find it,”

Jace handed the box to Jena and Rein, we nodded and get back to our team, they were all excited, Caleb is almost jumping, perhaps, imagining how much we will be receiving.

Well, I’m not that excited, I mean, we accidentally found it, while were chatting, I looked at Jace, he shyly smiled at me, and motioned me to look in front, which I did.

“As you can see, we already have a winner, group four! Let’s give them a round of applause!” we all clapped and congratulated everyone.

It was quarter eleven, and we decided to eat early lunch before we proceed to the next game, we talked about many things, first, everything feels awkward to me, I’m not used to going to social activities like team building, but most of my colleagues help me to adjust, well, it was unaware, I haven’t mentioned to anyone about anything.

“Okay, shall we all go to the next challenge?” Rein spoke, standing on a mini platform, “Alright, now, like the first one, green and red flag, we have hidden a key beforehand, and the first group who will be able to find the key, will win!”

They all cheered, and I was just smiling, wow, another finding game, this is our first day.

“Okay, you can start, and has to be back after half or an hour, good luck, team!” we start to dismiss ourselves and went to our respective teams.

“Should we pair up again? This wood is freaking huge!” Caleb said, with exaggerated, “Let’s go, I’m sure they were looking everywhere,”

“Of course, Caleb. We were grouped for a purpose, you bird brain,” I’m a little shocked after Rabiya shot Caleb with her savage reply.

“What?! Who’s bird brain, huh?” Of course, Caleb would be freaking mad.

“Stop guys, we have to start searching, let’s just go by team,” Ally suggested, we all agreed before entering the woods.

“How and where do we start looking?”

“Yeah, I mean, we can’t just search for some possible random places, right?”

“My god, this is a team building we should go as a team, are you all stupid?” Allian finally, after a half day of not speaking, suddenly intervene.

“Well, teamwork, without proper communication and a concrete plan is in vain, so shut up, and just listen, because that’s what you’re good right?” I chuckled at Rabiya’s words for today. This team is really something.

In the end, we decided to go by pair again. This time, I’m with Ally, we cheered for each other before we all go in separate ways.

“If you will hide the treasure, where would that be?” Ally asked, as soon as we enter, “If that’s me, I’d probably hide it somewhere up the tree,”

“Why would you hide it there?” my brows furrowed. I mean this is woods, who wouldn’t try to look at the trees? I’d surely first go.

“I mean, there is a lot of trees over here, who would be that crazy to look in every tree branch, right?” well, she kinda has a point for that one, “If that’s you, where would you hide it?”

I didn’t respond for a moment, thinking of any place I would hide a small item, such as a key, we pass through a lake, and thought of a silly answer, “If I were that one to hide, I’ll hide it under a rock, under the lake or river,”

Ally made a face, “That’s funny, why would you do that?”

“This is team building, meaning, we aren’t in survival mode, one or two out of then people would even think of washing their faces and hands-on river or lakeside, because we have our own water back to our tents, unlike if you’re trekking, or in survival, would you think of searching to under the water?”

“Hmm, no, I would think that there’s no point in hiding it there, who would have known, that can go, along with the water, then everything will be in vain, isn’t it?”

“No one knows,” I looked at the lake, “I’ll just wash my hands and face there, would you like to come?” I asked Ally.

“Nah, I’ll just look around here, just catch up, okay?” I nodded, and she starts to walk, I went to the lake and washed my face, I dipped my hands until my arm, the cold temperature makes it relaxing. I fix my ponytail and wash my face again, I decided to dip my face and closed my eyes in anticipation of the cold water.

I opened my eyes, but in my shock, I saw a shining object, I pulled off myself, and looked at the water again, you can’t see it from here. I submerge my face again, there I saw the key. My lips formed an unnecessary smile and grab the key in my right hand.

As soon as I had it in my hand, I felt a force pulling me through the water, I tried to pull off myself, but the force holding my head was too strong, I can feel my breath is almost at its limit, my chest starts to feel pain, from the decreasing supply of air. I hysterically pull off my head, but my remaining energy wasn’t enough to do it.

I didn’t know what happen next, everything just turned black.

I woke up, did I just woke up? Or I’m dead? I got drowned in the lake, didn’t I? I felt something on my chest, and I immediately sat and gasp for air, until my chest feels pain from sudden air, “Hah! Hah!” my breath was still uneven, and I clenched on it, trying to subdue the pain.

After countless trials, I finally feel fine, I roamed my eyes, and I saw nothing-no, there is a lady in front of me. My eyes were still a little foggy and blurry, I can’t tell if she was smiling or not.

“Vera, what a pleasant day to see you,” the foreign voice spoke, it was from the old lady, “You have been keeping on the enemies way for too long, they won’t let you continue it,”

“Vera!”

“Who are you?” I tried to ask, even if my throat is still aching, “Where am I?”

“It’s time my dear, you have to wake up what’s inside you, your tribe-no, your clan needs you, your twin needs you right now,”

“Vera!”

“What do you mean? You must have been mistaken, I don’t have a clan or a tribe or whatever, and I grew up alone, I don’t have a twin,” I tried to stand up, but I’m too weak to even set my foot to the ground properly.

“You have to wake up from a deep slumber, Vera. Everyone needs you, your mate needs you,”

“Vera!”

“Okay, let’s just drop that act, I’m sorry, ma’am, but I don’t feel well,” I halt, when she walks towards my direction, my mind says pull off, but my body, wouldn’t bunch.

“They will come after you, Vera. The moment they found you, it won’t be just your death, it is every soul in your bloodline’s death,”

“Vera! Wake up!”

“Look, I don’t have time to-”

“Take care of yourself, Vera,” she then held my hand, my eyes widen, and I’m stuck in my position, while the glowing light from her palm transferred to me-no, not just to me, but to my eyes!

“Vera!”

In just a blink, my eyes open, to a familiar place, is that a dream? Am I now awake?

My brow furrowed, and searching for the owner of the voice, I was astonished to see a familiar face, his hair was dripping wet, as his clothes were.

“Z-Zach?”

“What were you thinking?! Why would you drown just your head huh? Are you stupid?!” he shouted straight to my face.

I didn’t have the energy to shout, his white shirt and black pants were all wet now, and he didn’t mind that even his leather boots were still and almost on the side of the lake.

“Are you fine now? You were fucking bewitched, who are you last with? Are you alone?”

“No, I’m with Ally, but I told her I’m just washing my face,”

“That bitch!” he mumbled.

“What? Who?! Ally?! She knows nothing!” I should feel awkward, I always feel it, the moment I woke up from an alleged accident.

He looked at me, “Of course not, stupid,”

“Tell that to yourself-” I was forced to stop, and cough, water still coming out from my mouth.

“What the hell,” Zach cussed under his breath, yet still, his hand is caressing my back, while I’m still coughing. I lean on his chest, he can nag me later, but I just don’t have the energy right now, I might faint at any minute again, “You’re okay?” his body is too close right now, he’s my boss, I shouldn’t be acting this way, but my body can’t stop it.

I don’t know what had gotten into me, I softly held his face, and I felt his warmth, I chuckled, “I thought, vampires were cold-blooded creatures, I’ve seen it in movies and read it in books,”

He rolled his eyes, “That’s them, and they are fictional, I’m real, dimwit,”

I chuckled, “To answer your question,” I looked at his golden eyes, it reflects, “I’m fine, thank you for coming just in time,”
