“Congratulations!”

“Thank you guys, thank you, everyone.” Margot thanked everyone. We sat together at the same table with our friends. Mommy is here who was busy talking to her business mates and to the Parents of my friends especially to Dane’s daddy.

Zeus approached me and simply whispered. “Why Brianna here?” He looked to one side and I saw her stand toward the CR.

“Excuse me,” I excuse myself to follow Brianna and did not for them to answer.

“Where do you think you’re going, sucker?”

“Shut up, Zeus.” I motioned for Brianna to walk which she did as I followed. When no one was around I pulled her to the side.

“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you I was coming to see you tomorrow night?”

“Margot invited me.” I frowned.

“What?”

“We accidentally meet and she recognize then she invited me so I’m here.”

“Why did you come here? You’re just hurting yourself. Bree, go home. Let’s just meet tomorrow, ok?” I kissed her but she avoided it.

“Jace, isn’t it better that we stop this?”

“Have we talked about this? Are we going to argue about this again?”

“The situation is different now, Jace, you’re married. You’re married. I’m literally a mistress now.” I kissed Brianna. She refused but I didn’t give her a chance. I held her hand so she couldn’t move. I caressed her waist and pulled her closer to me until I could feel her kiss me. Chasing our breath we both let go.

“Don’t you love me? Don’t you need me anymore?” I buried my face in her neck and kissed her delicately as my hand crawled over her body.

“I really need you, Jace, but —”

“No buts. You need me, period.” I looked up and touched her face. “Wait for me tomorrow, ok?” She nodded.

I waited for her to come out before I returned to our seat. I caught laughing and have fun. They have fun of the triplets from squirming on the table. I hope that’s how Umami came out.

When I sat down they were all looking at me so I frowned.

“Why?” I asked them in surprise. Margot smiled then took a tissue and wiped my lips. Son of the—-my heart throbs. Because I remember Brianna and me kissing and maybe —– “M-Margot?”

“There’s lipstick. I didn’t notice it spread on your lips.” I looked at them one by one. Phoenix closed her eyes. Zeus is shaken. Blaze mouthed ‘stupid’ at me. Dane? if the stare was just deadly I would head shot and died quickly.

“Your lipstick is dark red, Margot, not light.” This crazy witch always makes fool.

“Maggie, it spread so the dark will come lightly.”

“Just saying, it is not like yours.” Then she was accompanied by laughter.

“There you are again, fighting with Jace.”

“I was just asking. Dark is different from light.”

“Are you saying Jace kiss a girl?” She laughed and I looked at the idiots while swallowing. My throat was dry because I didn’t know what to do.

“Why? When you want, anywhere, anytime you can make way.” Then she smiled. “Joke, you’re serious.” Then she looked at her son. “They’re so nervous, Joker, mommy is just joking.”

“Joke your face,” I whispered. She thought her joke was funny.

We held the event well. One by one the guests went home as well as my friends. Margot and I talked about staying at the hotel first to spend the night and we would go home tomorrow. Yup, we bought a house for the two of us.

“Why?” I asked when Margot suddenly hugged me as we entered the unit.

“I’m just happy because I’m your wife, now. Thank you, Jace.” She stroked my back and let her hug me. It was so comforting no matter how much she hugged me.

“You can take rest and I know you and Umami are tired.” I maybe a fool, but I taking care of her also. I accompanied her to the bedroom.

They say, the newlyweds usually do on the first night is to make love on the honeymoon. But us, we need to rest because we are both tired. Especially Margot. Besides, we already had our honeymoon that is why Umami was formed because the honeymoon came first.

Margot hugged me while sleeping. I’m also not a fool for not appreciating what she does to me and somehow I know that she is important. Even though we were not together under the same roof then, she took care of me. Now that we are married and living together in one house I know she will be a good wife.

The case is, I’m stupid and I can’t let go of Brianna. Zeus told me I just felt guilty for Brianna because I ran away from her at the wedding. So that’s how I want to reconcile. I was just bothered by what-if and conscience so I was like this. I was just guilty because Brianna’s married life was not successful. But whatever else you call it there is only one I am sure of. I still don’t want to lose her.

I picked up the cellphone and looked to feel sleepy. I open social media first. Brianna’s post went through my feed. The empty of wines strewn on the table as she took a drunk selfie. I got up quickly and went to the terrace. I tried to call Brianna but she didn’t answer.

I tried to call again but still wouldn’t answer. I went in then got dressed and took the key. Margot is asleep so it’s ok to leave. I went straight to Brianna’s house. I heard the doorbell but no one open. I slammed the door until the doorknob clicked.

“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you still be on your honeymoon?” She’s drunk and she’s shaking.

“What are you doing?”

“Celebrate because my boyfriend got married.” She took the bottle then stumbled but I took it in her hand.

“Brianna, I thought —-”

“Yes, we’ve already talked about this and I agreed to your mistress. But can you blame me if I’m hurting now?”

“Bree.” I approached her and hugged her but she blocked my hand.

“I should be Jace, I should be the one with you there. I should be the one you do if you hadn’t been stupid and ran away from me. I would have been the mother of your child. I would have been your wife. We would have been together for a long time. Happy together.”

“Bree, I’m sorry.”

“You’re stupid. You’re stupid and you didn’t show up and you just disappeared. You’re stupid because you left me hanging. You’re stupid because you came back and promised me that everything would be ok but fuck you married someone else and I was left behind again. But I’m more stupid. I’m stupid because I love you! I’m stupid because I’m ready to be your mistress just to be with you!”

“Bree.”

“I love you so much, Jace! I love you so much!” I pulled her up and hugged her.

“Bree, I’m sorry. I love you too so I’ve become selfish. I don’t want to lose you.”

“Why did you do that to me, Jace? Why did you leave me? Why didn’t you marry me?” Her cries were getting louder as she hugged me. “I gave everything to prove that I love you. I did everything to be worthy of you. I forgot my own happiness just for you, but why? Why, Jace?”

“I’m scared. I’m scared I might not be able to. I’m not ready yet and I still have a lot to do. Maybe, in the beginning, we’ll be ok because we’re both excited. Bree, I’m sorry. I’m sorry and that’s true. I love you so much.”

“I want to break up with you. I want to end this but when you’re there, I can’t. No matter how strong my plan is when I see you I become weak, Jace. Please, just stay away. Leave me and avoid me.”

“No one will go, Bree.”

“Leave me. Leave me alone and just be happy with your wife. Please leave me.”

“Bree, listen, give me time. Please.”

“Jace, I love you so much.”

“I love you so much too.” I kissed Brianna and she did the same to me until it ended up wrong. A growl filled the entire room. It was too late when I realized we were both naked and I was already inside her and savoring each other. Margot and I should have it because we were married but this is me, being stupid to others. She was very drunk but her appearance added even more to my lust. We survived together and I fell on top of her.

“Jace.” She hugged me so I hugged him back. “You can go and maybe she’s already worried about you.”

“I will stay with you.”

“No, I’m ok. I’ve seen you with you so I’m ok. I’m happy because you made me feel that I’m important. All right, go home to her.”

“But–”

“I am here, I am always here and I will wait for you. I will always wait for you, Jace.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah. I love you.”

“I love you more. Go to sleep first then I’ll leave.”

Past 1 AM when I heard her faint snoring. I got up and got dressed. I arranged her first before leaving and returning to the hotel.

When I entered the unit I saw Margot sitting in the living room. I was nervous. My heartbeats too fast as anytime it will come out. She might be angry because I left on the night of our wedding. I approached her and kissed her on the lips. I expected her to avoid it but she didn’t.

“Why are you still awake?” I asked then touched her stomach. “Even Umami is awake.”

“I just woke up to CR.” Wouldn’t she just ask where I came from and why I left?

“I went somewhere so I left. You’re asleep so I can’t say asks permission.”

“It’s ok, you don’t need to explain and I understand. You won’t leave and leave me if it’s not important where you’re going. Isn’t it?”
