Chapter 3177
Three years later...
Ivy and Robert stood at the airport in Aryadelle, anxiously waiting.
"It's been three years! Your boyfriend is finally here to see you!" Robert exclaimed before shifting the conversation. "He's not here to break up with you, is he? After all, you haven't seen each other in three years. A lot can change."
Ivy sighed, "Robert, can you not jinx it? Although we haven't met in three years, we talk on the phone and video call every day!"
Robert quipped, "Digital romance."
"Anyway, he promised me that he's going to settle down in Aryadelle this time, and we won't be apart again," Ivy said.
Robert smirked. "He's got a strong sense of pride. When he meets Dad later, they might not hit it off, and he'll buy a ticket to leave tonight!"
Feeling helpless, Ivy was at a loss for words.
Just then, a familiar voice called out, "Ivy!"
Ivy immediately looked over to the source of the voice and saw Lucas stepping out of the exit, dragging his suitcase behind him.
A smile spread across Ivy's face, and she ran towards Lucas.
The two hugged each other eagerly. Just then, Robert received a call from his mother.
"Have you picked him up? Did he change his mind and decide not to come after all?" Avery asked.
"Mom, you're overthinking. He just came out, and now he's hugging Ivy. You and Dad should get ready. We'll be home soon!" Robert assured her.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
In Elliot's mansion, Avery hung up and shared the news with Elliot.
Elliot went to the bathroom to check on his appearance.
Avery stood by the bathroom door, laughing. "You don't need to check anything. You look dashing!"
"Should I act assertively in front of him?" Elliot asked.
"Lucas is important to Ivy, and he's willing to settle in Aryadelle for her, so why should we be hostile? Do you want to upset him? He's the founder of Black Night Technology now, and he doesn't rely on us for a living! Just treat him the way you treated Shelly before," she said.
"All right."
An hour later, Robert arrived home, bringing Ivy and Lucas with him.
Avery warmly took Lucas' arm. "Lucas, traveling long-distance must be tiring! Come in and sit!"
Lucas blushed. "Aunty, I'm not tired."
Avery laughed. "Why are you so shy? There's no need to be all stiff. Just
treat this as your own homeove t belongs to ent
Elliot cleared his throat.
Lucas immediately turned to Elliot and politely greeted, "Hello, Uncle. I'm Lucas Woods."
"Come on in for dinner!" Elliot said.
Lucas agreed, "Sure."
At the dinner table, everyone sat together, and the atmosphere felt slightly awkward. Avery broke the silence. "Lucas, stay at our place tonight! We have plenty of room." Lucas declined. "It's fine, Aunty. I bought a house in Aryadelle with Ivy's help." Avery immediately turned to look at Ivy. "When did this happen?" "Ju-Just recently. Layla came with me to look for a place," Ivy stammered.
Layla chimed in, "You didn't say you
were buying a house for Lucas. I thought you were buying one for yourself! Isn't your name on the property certificate?"
Ivy blushed. "Well, sure, but it's Lucas' money!"
Avery burst into laughter. "Lucas, I can tell that you genuinely want to be with Ivy, Ivy's dad and I aren't stubborn old people, so the two of you should take charge of your wedding. When the time comes, we'll all attend the wedding."
"Thank you, Uncle and Aunty," Lucas said.
After dinner, Ivy escorted Lucas to their new home.
Hand in hand, they strolled under the starry night sky.
"Ivy, I'm sorry for making you wait so long," Lucas said.
Ivy smiled and replied, "It's okay. It was worth it, now that we're together."
With that, the two embraced one another and kissed.
Under the streetlights, their shadows intertwined, just like their paths for the future.
-Thank you for being with us for two years. The end.
