Chapter 3053
"What do you mean, I don't have any self-control?" Hayden protested, feeling that he had great self-control.
"I will ask Aunty Avery to be the judge of that." Shelly did not want to argue with him and decided to get Avery's opinion instead. Hayden chuckled.
After breakfast, everyone gathered their tents and moved on to the next location.
The morning activity was rock climbing, and since Hayden's hand was injured, he could not participate, so Shelly stayed with him.
After a while, Eliam asked them to leave. "Mr. Tate, since you can't participate, you can take Shelly out on a date."
Shelly felt that it would be inappropriate for the CEO to leave and said, "It's fun to watch them climb."
Hayden knew that Shelly was being considerable and decided to take his assistant's advice.
"Let's go first! We only bought a gift for my mom yesterday, and I haven't bought anything for anyone else. Let's go downtown," Hayden said to Shelly.
Shelly nodded. "Okay! I still need to buy gifts for my parents and my younger brother."C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
"Alright."
Meanwhile in Avonsville, Layla stayed at Elliot's mansion during the public holiday.
As Aiden grew, he was becoming more curious about the outside world, and Avery took Elliot, Aiden, and their youngest son out to play since the weather was pleasant. Originally, they had not planned to bring Robert along, but he actively asked to join them.
It was rare for a man of Robert's age to willingly stick with his parents, so Avery agreed to take him along.
Robert wanted to avoid staying home where he would have to listen to his sister's nagging.
With graduation approaching, finding a job was his family's main concern, and this was quickly followed by their concern for his romantic life.
Layla had a successful career, and she was now pregnant, so she would certainly nag him.
"Ivy, you're about to start your internship, right? Do you plan to continue as a host?" Layla leaned back on the couch and chatted with her sister. Everyone else had gone out to play, leaving only Ivy behind to keep Layla company.
"I'm not sure yet!" Ivy lowered her head to avoid Layla's gaze. "I'll decide after this semester ends. There's no rush."
"You usually have a strong sense of purpose!" Layla looked somewhat surprised at her sister. "If you decide to continge as a reporter, you should be choosing a company by now. You should be considering whether you want to stick with the company you are interning with or do you want to try something new... If you don't want to be a reporter, what do you want to do?"
"Sis, I might not continue as a reporter," Ivy confided to Layla. "I haven't told Mom and Dad yet, so please don't tell them either."
Layla nodded. "Why not, though? Are you tired of it already?"
Ivy thought for a moment and said, "Not really. It's just that I feel like Dad doesn't want me to pursue this career, and my passion for this industry isn't as deep as it used to be."
"Oh, I see! Dad definitely doesn't
want you to work outside. It's good
that you've made up your mind. You
can choose our company, my brother's company, or Dad's company to work in. You can even start your own company, but you have to choose the right path."
"Yes, I've been contemplating this issue recently, but I haven't made up my mind yet," Ivy smiled at her sister. "Layla, you should focus on taking care of yourself and the baby. Don't worry too much about me."
Layla laughed. "There is nothing to worry about! I won't bother you with the things that truly concern me. Do you know why Robert insisted on going out with Mom and Dad? He's afraid that I'll nag him about his decision. I was against him pursuing a graduate degree. Just look at the field he chose! He chose philosophy! If he's truly interested in philosophy, he can read more books in his free time. I think he just doesn't want to work at Dad's firm."
