Chapter 3028
After Avery finished speaking, Shelly's face turned a shade of crimson.
"You are too kind." Mrs. Taylor sighed, echoing what Avery and her daughter had said.
There was no hint of pretense in Avery's demeanor; she was full of warmth and vitality, completely unlike any other high-status lady.
"There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Shelly is truly an exceptional young woman! Our whole family really likes her," Avery said while Shelly brought over a chair for her to sit on.
Once Avery plopped down on the chair, she looked at Shelly and asked, "Shelly, did Hayden spend the night at the hospital to keep you company?"
Avery had asked her that because she wanted to gauge the progress of Hayden's relationship.
Shelly immediately shook her head. "No, he said he has a house near the hospital, so he probably stayed there."
Shelly could not bring herself to lie.
If she failed to inform Avery that Hayden did not stay at the hospital, Avery would definitely start overthinking things, and she might try to obtain more information from Hayden, so Shelly decided to tell Avery the truth to put her mind at ease.
"He does have a house near this hospital. I almost forgot about that!" Avery laughed heartily. "Shelly, the fact that he told you about that shows that he doesn't consider you an outsider."
Shelly's face grew even redder, wondering how Avery would react if she found out that Shelly and her mother were currently living in that villa as well.
"My son has always been a bit reserved, especially when it comes to relationships with others. He's not particularly flexible in that regard, but he's smart. However, he simply doesn't like dealing with interpersonal relationships. Shelly, I can tell he has some feelings for you. If you could take the initiative, the two of you might have a chance!" Avery held Shelly's hand, placing her hopes in her.
Outside the ward, Hayden came to visit Shelly's mother with Audrey.

mother last night, Avery said that she would visit Shelly's mother on the day of her surgery, which was scheduled for the next day, so
Hayden did not expect his mother to come today.
He carried his daughter out of the elevator and strode toward the intensive care unit.
His attention was solely focused on Audrey, so he did not notice the bodyguard standing outside the ward.
The bodyguard, on the other hand, noticed him and said, "Mr. Tate."
Hayden recognized the voice and immediately looked at the bodyguard, recognizing that it was the bodyguard who worked for Avery. "What are you doing here?!" Hayden exclaimed.
Usually, Avery's bodyguard went wherever Avery went, and Hayden could not help but wonder, "Could it be that..."
The bodyguard confirmed Hayden's suspicion. "Your mother is inside." After a brief pause, the bodyguard glanced at the baby in Hayden's arms. "Whose kid is this?"
Hayden fell silent.
He kept one arm on Audrey and
grabbed the bodyguard with his free hand and dragged him aside. "Don't tell Mom you saw me," he commanded. "This baby is mine as well, but they don't know that yet. I haven't thought of how I'm going to share this information. Before I say anything, you are not allowed to let it slip. Understood?"
The bodyguard studied the serious look on Hayden's face and nodded.
The bodyguard's job was the keep Avery safe, and he dared not to get involved in their family affairs.
With that said, Hayden immediately left with Audrey in his arms.
Avery remained in the ward for another hour before leaving.
