Chapter 3024
"Let's get your mother into a different room!" Hayden said, before turning to communicate with the staff.
Shelly grabbed his arm and said, "I've asked the nurse, and she said that there are a lot of patients at the moment, so there isn't another room available."
"Just stay with your mom. I will negotiate with them."
With that, he walked away.
Shelly watched as he left and felt relieved.
Though she was the one who had called Hayden, she did not expect him to hurry over to the hospital to see her mother, as all she wanted was for him to stay with their daughter. After all, without anyone there, there was no telling if the servants would take good care of Audrey.
Shelly approached her mother's hospital bed and told her about Hayden's visit.
"I just saw him. I thought he would come in and say a few words to me! Why did he leave without coming in?" Mrs. Taylor's pain had eased a bit by now, but she still looked sickly.
"He said this place is too crowded, so he went to ask if there's a less crowded ward available," Shelly replied. "Mom, I feel like he's really good to us. I wonder if other guys are all like this."
Mrs. Taylor smiled and said, "Many men don't even bother taking care of their own children, so why would they care about their wife's family? Hayden is truly generous and kind."
"But you're also very good to him! You even cooked for him today!" Shelly said.
"Cooking two meals is nothing. I don't know how many meals I've cooked for your father, and he doesn't let me stay in the villa for even a single day," Mrs. Taylor said cheerfully. "I didn't expect Hayden to come to the hospital to see me. If it weren't for you, why would he possibly come to see me... Shelly, I feel like he must like you. Otherwise, he wouldn't treat us so well."
"Mom, please stop talking." Shelly glanced toward the door and spotted Hayden chatting with a middle-aged man.
She did not know who that man was, and after a while, Hayden strode into the ward.
Hayden approached the bed and asked, "Mrs. Taylor, I've arranged for you to be moved to a different room. Can you get out of bed now?"
"I can, but they've hooked me up with an IV," Mrs. Taylor glanced at the IV bag.
"I'll hold it for you." Hayden immediately grabbed the IV stand.
Shelly was caught off guard by his actions.
"Mr. Tate, let me take the IV bag!" A nurse walked over and took the IV stand from Hayden. "I'll take the patient to the room, and you can bring her belongings over.
Shelly watched as her mother followed the nurse out, and she immediately began to pack up their things.
There was not much to pack, just her mother's bag and her own. She had not had a chance to go home and bring over their daily amenities.
"Is this all?" Hayden asked when he saw her carrying the two bags, and he took one bag from her.
"Yeah, I'll go back later to get more things," Shelly said. "Who did you ask? When I asked, they said there were no less crowded rooms available." Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
"I had my dad use his connections," Hayden said frankly. "I don't have many connections in the country."
In Aryadelle, the most resourceful connection Hayden possessed was his father.
Listening to his candid words, Shelly could not help but laugh. "Thank you! Actually, we were grateful enough that there's a bed available."
"Your mother is getting older, and it's too noisy in crowded rooms. She might not be able to get much sleep here," Hayden explained.
"Yeah, but my mom's surgery is a minor one. The doctor said she can be discharged in a week." Shelly sighed. "was a bit nervous before, but now I'm not as afraid. As we grow older, our parents also age,
and they become more prone to Various illnesses when they get older."
