Chapter 2946
An hour later, Avery bought a few cakes from Shelly's cafe and left.
As soon as she left, Courtney darted out from around a corner. "Shelly, Avery is so nice to you! She even gave her the access card to her house! Does that mean that you have full access to their house from now on? You are practically on your way to becoming a part of their family!" Courtney said enviously. "Next time you go to their house, can you take some photos to show me? I'm so curious as to what the house of the truly wealthy people looks like."
"I need to take care of my daughter during the weekend, so I can't possibly go to his house every week," Shelly said.
"Just take photos when you do!"
"I can't! There are bound to be a lot of people in their house. All I can do is take photos of my son and not their house," Shelly said.
"I will give you a video call, then. That way, I get a tour around the house."
"Sure, as long as you aren't embarrassed about it." Shelly was in a good mood and agreed to her request.
Avery returned home and said to Hayden with a smile, "Shelly is a wonderful girl! She answered every one of my questions and even took me to her cafe!" She handed the bag of cakes in her hand to Hayden. "Do you want to try some of her cakes?"
"These are from her cafe?" Hayden set the bag down on the table because he did not like cakes.
"She said that her friend invested in it, and she is responsible for managing it. She is a shareholder." Avery was impressed by how prideful and ambitious Shelly was.
"It's no wonder that she quit her job as a reporter, then," Hayden said. "What else did she say to you?"
Avery took out a cake from the bag and took a bite. "I said that the next time the owner of GD Patisserie comes to teach me how to bake, she can sit in. She said yes." "You are asking her to come here to our home?"RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
"What's wrong with that? Her son is
living with us so why can't she come here?" Avery retorted. "I know that you think we don't know enough about her yet and that you are worried she might be plotting something, but I don't think she's that kind of a person. After all, she has already given us the Biggest leverage she has."
From what Avery could see, the child was Shelly's biggest leverage.
"Mom, you can't be too careful. It's best to keep a distance to observe her for a while longer!" Hayden reminded her. "I need to head back to Bridgedale to make arrangements, before coming back." "Sure! It's not a problem," Avery said. "We will keep your son fed, so you can focus on work. Do your best to come home as soon as possible, so our family can be together again."
"Mom, don't overfeed him. It's not healthy to be overweight." Hayden was concerned that his parents might spoil the baby too much. He did not like it when people gained too much weight, regardless of their age.
"Hahaha! Here I thought that you don't care about your son! Don't worry. I will be careful." Avery sighed a breath of relief. "By the way, you said that Shelly looked alright yesterday. Are you blind? She is a beauty who rivals your two sisters."
"Mom, are you serious?"
"They are all beautiful in their own ways, but Shelly is definitely a beautiful woman. You might be able to see the difference if she puts on a little makeup." Avery took another bite of the cake. "The cakes she is selling at her cafe taste great! Do you want to consider dating her, Hayden?"
Hayden refused without hesitation. "Mom, the child I have with her was an accident. You can't think that I should marry her over an accident."
"I never said that you should marry her. I just think that she is a great woman, and you could try learning more about her."
"I'm busy," Hayden said bluntly. "You and Dad want me to create a branch here in Aryadelle. Do you have any idea how much work that is?"
Avery knew that he meant what he
said and did not push on the subject. "Alright, then! You can focus on your career for now, and we will discuss other aspects of your life once your branch in Aryadelle stabilizes."Avery took another cupcake out
and handed it to him. "Have
the bag
taste!
It's not bad."
Hayden accepted it and took a bite.
