Chapter 2929
Hayden felt like he was being put on trial and felt horrible.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
"Mom, I will undergo a DNA test when I get home!" Hayden could not bring himself to accept reality until he saw solid results.
"Sure." Avery hung up and turned to look at her family.
"What did Hayden say?" Layla asked.
"He said he will take the DNA test. He didn't say much else," Avery said. "I think your brother was seeing someone."
"Oh... that's a good thing, right? At least we now know that he is a normal man," Layla chuckled. "Oh! I'm an aunt now! That's great!"
"Mom, will you and Dad take care of the baby?" Robert asked. "The baby's mother was probably the one who delivered the baby, right? That means she doesn't want the baby."
Avery glanced at Elliot, who had been holding the baby ever since the paternity test results showed that he was the grandfather.
"Your dad seems more than happy to take care of the baby," Avery teased. "It doesn't matter which one of you is the father, because neither of you can take care of a baby."
"Yeah. What a scare!" Robert sighed. "It doesn't matter who the father is as long as it's not Dad."
"Don't you think you all owe me an explanation?" Elliot was pleased to be a grandfather but had not forgotten the treatment he received the day before.
"I'm sorry, Dad!" Layla blurted out. "I was wrong, Dad. Tell me how I can make it right and I will do it."
Elliot had not expected Layla to admit to her mistakes so swiftly and was instantly rendered speechless.
Naturally, he could not be mad at his own daughter and turned to look at Avery. "I'm mainly mad at your mother."
"Why don't you hand me the baby for a while so you can pout, then?" Avery suggested.
Elliot stared at her in shock.
"We will discuss this later in our room," Avery whispered. "Aren't you embarrassed to discuss this in front of the kids?" "I'm not embarrassed. It's not like any of you cared who was listening when you attacked me!" Elliot protested.
"Alright, I was wrong. You can make your request, and as long as it's reasonable, I will agree to it, okay?" said Avery.
"I will have to think about that." Elliot
sat down on the couch with the baby. "feel like I'm dreaming. We are grandparents. The little guy doesn't have a name yet! We should name him first!"
"Let's wait for the DNA test results to see who the father is!" Avery said.
"I'm this baby's grandfather, so whoever the father is, I get to name him, right?"
"If it's Hayden's child, aren't you going to let him have a say?"
A gloomy look appeared on Elliot's face. "I wonder if Hayden is going to love this child. What if he doesn't want the baby? We can't just abandon our first grandchild, right? It's not like we don't have the money to feed another mouth."
"Hayden isn't that heartless," Avery said. "It's hard to conclude anything right now, though... My guess is that the baby was born here in Aryadelle, so the mother should be in the country as well. Hayden lives in Bridgedale most of the time, so it's confusing as to how he got a woman here pregnant, to begin with."
"It's not all that confusing. I didn't do anything to you, and you still ended up getting pregnant with my children, right? You were even pregnant with twins and kept them a secret from me..."
