Chapter 12 Report me.
…..
He slides the ring out of his finger and blew some air in it.
“You already have a bad luck enough to have made an encounter with someone like me.”he wore the ring back and raised his gaze up at her.
He declines his head to the side.
“But, do you know?. You just have to be someone I have to rely on and I hate it when I find myself in a situation where I have to do that. And, it’s no other person, but a woman?.”This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Beatrice wiped her tears and retreated back in her steps.
He whistled and shook his head.
“I would admit, a good bad luck you’ve got there, miss Beatrice.”He straightened his neck.
Tears keep falling out of her eyes.
“I.. I will call the cops.. I will call the cops.”she threatened.
“Hah, cops.”he flicks his hair back with his finger.
“Be my guest then. Kindly tell them that I said Hi.”he said, utmost to her surprise and detriment.
What?!
“You seem to have forgotten what I told you back then. Even if you’d asked the cops to escort you here, you would still be face with this Ill – fate.”he said.
“I said you have a good bad luck. You’re not going to be empty – handed after all, you will become a rich woman after three months, but before then, you’re just a hapless woman.”
“I’m increasing your pay to five thousand dollars per day. It depends on how productive you are. Who knows, I might decide to increase that. Oops! My bad, your right is being infringed on right here, call the cops.”he sauntered towards the stairs.
Half – way through, she yelled at him.
“This is not even a business! How can you be so brutal?. I’m the one here offering you my service and which loss could you possibly incur when you have nothing to offer!”
He halted in his track and glanced at her.
“This.”he pointed to his face.
Beatrice scoffed ruefully.
“You might not know, but, ladies out there are dying to see my face. How does it feels to keep seeing my pretty face every blessed day?. Come on, you are one lucky bitch. Not many enjoy this privilege.”he tsk’ed and left.
Beatrice threw her self down on the floor and bursted into fresh tears.
All she has ever wanted was to be beside her dying mother while searching for a job that pays well that will help her settle her surgery bills.
What do she call the situation she is in right now?
She literally got her self into this mess!
“Ugh!, I almost forgot.”he suddenly appeared.
“Gregory Winslow. That’s my full name. That should help you with the report.”
She glanced up at him and scoffed.
“You think I can’t do it?”she muttered at his back.
She took her phone and started dialing the police’s call line.
They picked up at the fourth ring.
“Good morning. This is the police. How may we help you?”
Beatrice closed her eyes and held the phone tightly to her ear with her two hands.
She suppressed a cry and breathed out.
She opened her eyes gently and sniffed.
“Hello?”the man at the other end called.
Beatrice stood up and sat on the couch.
“Is this another prank call?. You..”
“I.. would like to report someone.”she finally said into the phone.
“Okay…”back in his office, the cop brought out a pen and jotter.
“He.. his name is.. he is holding me.. I..”she sighed out in frustration.
How will she even report this?
“He.. he is dangerous man, and he is holding me in his house against my will.”
“Please, may I have his name and the address?”
She hesitated a little.
“Miss?”he called when she went silent again.
“Can I trust you to be fair?”
“Of course, miss. We are the police and our primary objective is to protect the people. We are always just and fair in every case.”
“H.. his name is. Gregory Winslow.”she dropped her words.
And, that was when it occured to her that he just told her his real name.
She has always think of him as IntrovertBoy.
“What?”the cop removed the telephone from his ear.
He breathed out a sigh and place it back on his ear.
“Did.. did you just say Gregory Winslow?”there was a hint of fear in his question.
Beatrice nodded as if he could see her.
“A. alright. we will work on it.”
“You promised to be fair.”Beatrice said in a retort before he could hang up.
“Of course, miss!”he gnashed his teeth together in the background.
“O.. okay, then. I’m counting on you.”she blinked her eyes fastly and disconnected the call.
She threw her phone down on the table and breathe in a fresh air.
Did he actually thought she won’t be able to do this?
Hahaha. She smirks.
Gregory is too nice of a name for a man like him though.
“Gre.. Go.. Ry.”she pronounced.
*Things would be gory for you soon.*she grinned.
With the police behind her, what could she possibly fear now.
She stood up and packed all her luggages and dragged them up the stairs.
She went to the next five rooms from his and opened the door.
Woah. The place is really nice.
She gave a nod as she stared around.
So pretty nice..
The bed is quite big and looks comfy too.
But, since the police would be coming to get her out of his dungeon soon, she wouldn’t need a room again.
But still..
She convinced herself without any reason and settled her belongings in a corner of the room.
She went to stand in front of the room and she looked at her reflection in contempt.
Her eyes looks swollen and her face are all red.
She gave a puffy sigh and went inside the bathroom.
She stripped out of her clothes and stepped under the shower.
As the warm water hits her skin, she felt relieved.
She rubbed her face down and stared up, enjoying how the water cascades down her body.
On a normal day, she would have felt inspiration coming in, but on this day, she just felt she has done something so unnecessary and will get herself into trouble because of that.
Should she have reported him?
No–
