“Sign the paper.”
*AMERICA*
“We’d like to see your boss.” Bella said, standing with arms akimbo at the entrance. She was gazing sternly at the men in front of her with her head tilted to her side.
“Did you book an appointment?” One of the men asked not yielding.
Bella glanced at Drake and they both exchanged a small smile.
“Yeah but he keeps declining them.” She replied, still with the dangerous smile.
“Then you’ll have to leave now, for he doesn’t wish to see you.” The same guard said.
“But I wish to….. No, sorry, we want to see him.” She said, demonstrating slightly with her finger as she referred to the boys standing behind her.
“Well, my boss doesn’t want to, so I guess you’d have to leave.” The second man said more fiercely.
“Why, if I may ask? Is he probably scared?” Bella asked sarcastically in a chuckle.
“You’d better leave now before we make you do so in a way that you and your puppets here would regret.” The first guard threatened to take a step forward.
“Call your boss and tell him Bella Dean wants to speak with him.” Bella said, feeling less concerned about the threat.
” Didn’t you hear what I said? I just asked you……”
“I clearly heard what you said, but unfortunately, I’m not leaving here until I deliver my message to him.” Bella cut the guard short with a lopsided smile.
The guard stared at his partner and he gave him the go ahead. The guard brought out his phone, dialing his boss’s number, and he picked at the second ring.
“Boss, a lady……” Bella collected the phone before he could finish.
“Nicolas, tell your guards to give us a pass right now, else you might have to bear the consequences that comes later on.” She said the last part with a smirk.
She gave the phone back to him, and he collected it, glaring at her.
The guard nodded to something his boss said before putting down the phone. He signalled his partner, and they gave way for Bella and her crew. Drake glared at them before he finally went in.
They walked in unison, getting stares from people around. The stares only stopped when they got into the elevator.
The elevator clicked, and they got out, walking towards the reason they came.
They entered into the office to meet some ladies picking up their things as they rushed out. Bella glanced at them before returning her gaze to the man she came for.
“I gave you the permission to come in, doesn’t give you the right to barge into my office that way.” He said, glaring at them, most especially Bella.
He was sitting on the couch in just a singlet and a long pant.
“I can see you were enjoying yourself before we interrupted, I’m so sorry about that.” Bella said the last statement in a small bow, and he scoffed.
“What do you want?” He asked, feeling uneasy.
“Won’t you at least get your guests some refreshment? Or maybe give us a seat first?” Bella said with a small smile as she found her way to the swivel chair in the office.
“I only give seats to those who are worth sitting with me, and again I wasn’t informed about your visit, so there’s no refreshment for you either. Now, what are you doing here?” He stated more fiercely.
“That was harsh, you know, but since you insist, I’ll just go straight to the point.” Bella said, sitting comfortably on the chair as she crossed her legs.
She signalled Drake, and he brought out a file from the briefcase he was holding.
“Collect that and sign on the papers.” Bella ordered, turning the chair from the left to the right.
Nicolas stared from Drake to Bella then back to Bella before bursting into loud laughter. Bella shook her head from where she sat in a smile.
“Why the sudden laughter?” She asked amidst her smiles.
“You amaze me, Bella. First, you threatened me to permit you to come into my office, then you barged in and now, this?” Nicolas stated as he rested back on his seat.
“Of course, I’m meant to amaze you, and that’s why I’m the true sister of Don.” She boasted, still smiling and he chuckled.
“What does the file contain anyway?” He asked now, staring at the file in Drake’s hand.
“You don’t know?” Bella asked, feigning surprise, and he took his gaze to her.
“If I knew, would I ask?” He asked back in a glare.
“Really? I thought you knew.” Bella said, clasping her hands together under her chin.
“Stop messing with me and tell me what all this is about.” He replied in between gritted teeth.
Bella stared at him for a moment and clicked her tongue.
“Anyways, it’s an agreement that clearly states that you’ll give our goods a free pass at the seaport. When you sign it, you’ve sealed it, and I think you know that already.” She said, tilting her head to the side as she studied his reaction.
“Well, I’m sorry, but I can’t do that for you.” Nicolas said, scowling at her and stood to his feet.
“You can’t or you won’t?” Bella asked, staring at him to be certain.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“Any of which you consider it to be.” He stated boldly with a look of defiance.
“Nicolas, just sign this, so we can get this done with.” Bella groaned out lightly.
“I don’t want to, and you can’t make me either. Now, if you would excuse me, I have work to do. You and your men can get the fuck out of my office when you’re tired.” Nicolas finalized walking towards her on the chair.
“I guess we’d have to go the other way.” She breathed out loudly and before Nicolas could comprehend what she meant, he found himself flying back to where he was sitting before as he fell to the floor with a great thud.
Bella left the chair, flying the table as she walked to him on the floor.
“Why the hell did you do that?” He groaned out in severe pain.
“I honestly didn’t want to do it this way, even if this is accurately what my brother wanted. I thought I could reason with you, but you were proving stubborn.” Bella explained, crouching down to him on the floor.
“What do you want?” He asked, trying to take in the back pain that had suddenly developed due to the heavy thud.
“I already explained to you earlier, even if I also know you’ve known about it before today, which is why you’ve refused to initially let us in.” Bella said slowly as she bit her lip in a small smirk.
“But, why, though? Are you now working with our enemies?” She asked, but he remained silent.
“Are they forcing you to reject us or something?” She asked again, but he still didn’t utter a word.
“Alright then, since you refused to talk, we’ll get down to the main business.” She said in a little shrug as she turned to Drake.
“Hand me that and a pen.” She ordered, stretching forth her palm and Drake did as told.
“Sign here.” She said, as she forced the pen into his hand and pointed to the part where he was to sign.
Nicolas stared at her with pain evident in his eyes, but it did not move her.
“Come on now, I’ve got no time to waste here anymore.” She urged further as she pushed the papers to him.
He stared at her and suddenly burst into great laughter. Bella furrowed her brows at him confused.
