Strange fetish
“Doctor Acinea, the ambulance is coming,” Carlos stated solemnly. As he watched Alex lying bleeding, his face became moist and restless.
Sh*t. He doesn’t care if that man dies, but not in the hands of Doctor Acinea! Yes, he knows Alexander Fuego is the imposter since Agent J texted him earlier. What the hell? That’s a great Alexander Fuego, and if he dies at the hands of Doctor Acinea, their plans will be destroyed.
Carlos took a peek around and realized that there were no strangers. The two boutique salesladies appear to have requested for assistance outdoors. There was no security guard in that store, possibly because the boutique was guarded by the Mondragon Store, and no one dared to stir trouble.
Alex’s wound was swiftly treated by Jenica. Because the man is still conscious, he grimaces now and again. Jenica frowned. “What happened?”
Carlos lowered his voice. “The aggressive man entered the store and went straight to the fitting room where we were; it appears he was targeting Mr. Fuego because he pulled out a knife when he saw him,” Carlos said, pulling his phone from his pocket. “His name is Arnold Guting. He’s a gangster leader in the area with connections to the… capital,” Carlos said, and Jenica immediately realized what he meant.
“No CCTVs?” she inquired.
Carlos let out a snort. “I didn’t notice anything when we first entered the fitting room.” Jenica’s eyes narrowed. Of course, there is no CCTV in the fitting room! Seeing that Agent J’s face darkened, Carlos laughed fakely and raised his hand, “Just chill, Doc. There is no CCTV inside the store.”
“Is there a witness to what happened?”
“It’s me!” Carlos said. She glared at him so he scratched the back of his neck. “The shopkeeper didn’t see the stabbing. But we can press the gangster leader. Mr. Fuego is conscious, he will be the one to point out who stabbed him.”
Jenica finished the first aid and was about to stand up but Alex grabbed her hand. He looked at her firmly. Her heart skipped a beat. In the end, she didn’t stand up anymore and waited for the ambulance while holding her husband’s hand.
She had called Alex’s assistant ahead of time, so when Alex was put into the ambulance, his personal assistant acted as his guardian and entered the ambulance. Carlos and Jenica were left at the store.
“You can treat Mr. Fuego, Agent J. Why didn’t you do it when you’re a doctor?” Carlos inquired.
Her eyes were filled with anguish, and she gradually looked down at her trembling hand. Alex had held her hand earlier and didn’t want to let go since he could feel the coldness of her palm.
It’s an emergency, and when she claimed Alex was losing too much blood, she wasn’t kidding. If she hadn’t acted quickly, her husband would have been taken to the hospital as a dead body.
Alex knew her and took her hand to reassure her. She may have remained calm before to treat his wounds, but she is aware that she is preventing herself from breaking down in front of Carlos and Alex.
And this is the reason why she won’t operate him. She is not in the right condition to operate on Alex so she will trust his assistant and another doctor. Also, HQ will turn its attention to her fake assistant if she also rushes to the hospital and she doesn’t want them to know that the missing owner of Fuego Empire is hiding by her side.
“Doctor Acinea!” She heard Samantha’s call and quickly walked close to her. “I heard about what happened. Are you hurt?” the woman asked then took her hand and inspected it.
Right. Doctor Acinea’s hand should never be injured.
Jenica smiled softly. “I’m okay. But my assistant met an accident inside the store.”
Samantha let go of her hand and breathe deeply. “I’m sorry about what happened. I’ll compensate your assistant and I’ll put that stupid man behind bars!” she said angrily then turned to the police. “Make him rot in prison!” she commanded.
The two policemen looked at each other. The one with young looking face smiled. “We have due process, Mrs. Mondragon. It’s up to the court to decide if the suspect will be imprisoned for life. Please excuse us,” he said and the two policemen left hurriedly. Maybe they didn’t want to play dumb in front of a rich madam like Samantha who knows nothing of the due process.
Samantha’s face was confused while Carlos looked away, trying to stop his laughter.
The saleslady of the boutique approached Jenica and handed her something. “Maam, please take it as our compensation for what happened. We’re very sorry. We will make sure this incident will not happen again,” she promised.
Jenica looked at the saleslady. She knows it’s not their fault but she didn’t have the mood to even fake a smile for her. She silently accepted the VIP membership card. Jenica got a free VIP card worth ten million and she didn’t know what to feel.
“Don’t be too lax in security,” she coldly said.
The woman was trembling upon hearing her cold words. She nodded, said goodbye, and bowed before leaving quickly. Jenica looked around and noticed that many people had gathered not far away and were watching what happened. She pursed her lips and walked away.
Carlos and Samantha followed her. They returned to the Mondragon mansion where Grey was waiting. The man’s face was dark.
“It’s our fault for not overseeing things,” he said and massaged the side of his forehead. “I’ll pay for your assistant’s hospital bill.”
The corner of her lips twitched. “I shall pay his bills, Mr. Mondragon. Thanks, but I can afford it.”
“Just take it,” he said indifferently. “That’s only a drop in my ocean of wealth.”
Carlos choked on his own saliva and raised the corners of his lips. This Grey Mondragon really knows how to flaunt his wealth.
“By the way, who in your family is sick?” she asked.
Since this happened, she wanted to treat the patient and leave this place as soon as possible.
The small smile on Samantha’s lips disappeared and Gray’s eyes narrowed. The latter shrugged and looked away. “It’s my father. He’s on his sick bed and needs immediate treatment. But no doctor can treat his illness.” Gray stared at Jenica. “I heard you’re the famous Doctor Acinea. I hope you will live up to my expectations.”
She looked deeper at Grey. Was he challenging her? A grimace appeared on the corner of her lips. “Of course. Shall I pay him a visit?”
Just then she found herself in front of a golden door. Samantha looked at her gently and warned, “Doctor, he’s not on his right mind. He might hurt you so please beware,” she said before opening the door.
As soon as Jenica entered, she frowned at the strong smell of medicinal herbs. The curtains are down so the room was very dark and only the lampshade on the side of the bed illuminated the whole area. There was an air purifier that emitted smoke next to the bed.
She secretly looked at Carlos who also looked at her. He took out a small knife and sliced his own arm slightly before covering it with a long sleeve. Jenica took out a pill and secretly ate it before facing Samantha.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
The woman was standing at the foot of the bed and was looking at the old man sleeping soundly on the bed. She stood beside it. “This is Celino Mondragon?” she asked.
“Yes. He is.” Samantha looked down. “It’s been five years since Papa got sick. Since then, he doesn’t come out of the room anymore and doesn’t want light so the curtains are down. He’s also afraid of water and he’ll drool sometimes.”
“Symptoms of rabies,” Carlos said with a serious expression on his face. “Do you have a dog?”
Samantha shook her head. “We never had a dog because father hates them.”
Jenica looked at Samantha for a moment before speaking. “I want to take a closer look at him. Please step outside, Mrs. Mondragon.”
“No.” She shook her head. “You don’t know this, Doctor, but every time he’ll wake up, father will lash out. Twenty butlers can’t stop him in his mad state.”
She smiled at the woman. “I can manage. He’s not my first patient to have this kind of illness.”
Samantha stared at her for a few seconds before sighing. She stepped out of the room and closed the door. Jenica quickly took out the small dagger and sliced her arm.
She controlled the force and angle of the cut so that no blood came out. But the pain was enough to awaken her spirit. That’s what Carlos did earlier so the smell of blood didn’t spread in the room.
“Did you smell that?” she asked then approached the old man. She took out an optical flashlight and crouched down. She opened the old man’s eyes and focused on the light. “Someone wants this poor man to never wake up,” she said then released the old man’s eyelids.
Carlos approached the bedside table and took the air purifier. “The smell is coming from here, Agent J.”
She looked at the thing in his hand and grinned. Carlos gave it to her. Jenica accepted the small air purifier and opened it to take a looked inside. It contained hallucinogenic herb leaves. The corner of her lips twitched and she turned off the air purifier before handing it back to Carlos who returned it to the bedside table.
“That leaf induces the mind to relax,” she said then took the old man’s pulse. “Prolonged exposure leads to hallucination, frenzy, fear of bright light, and hydrophobia.” She let go and removed the blanket that was covering the old body. “That’s why no doctor can diagnose him because the symptoms are so deceptive. At first glance it’s rabies, but later the doctors will realize that the disease is not rabies. They always fail to see the right diagnosis because it is forbidden to undress the old man.”
“Huh?” Carlos looked at Agent J who was undressing the old man’s pants. “Wait a minute, Agent J. If you’re getting h*rny, don’t do it with the old man! That’s guaranteed to be full of wrinkles and his thing won’t stand up!”
Jenica stopped undressing the old man and glared at Carlos. “You want to die?”
Carlos laughed wildly and raised both hands. “Hey, I’m not against your fetish. But have mercy on the old man, Agent J!”
“You piece of sh*t! Get out!” she yelled, annoyed, and threw a dagger at Carlos.
He swiftly grabbed the dagger and tucked it into his clothing. “Okay, okay. I’ll go. Hurry up, Agent J. Gray Mondragon might catch you and you’ll be his stepmother in no time!” he laughed.
