Chapter 242 We Know
Chapter 242 We Know
Brian was angry, not because of Daenerys, but of Penny's shameless.
“It is good if it wasn't you, I don't think you ought to see her either. But she does have a good life.”
Who was it if it were not Brian? It was incredible.
“You and Winwin went to see her?”
Brian knew that Winnie must be there.
“Yes. And we were so angry. We were kind to visit her, but she threatened Winwin. I think she is crazy.”
Daenerys was still angry at the thought.
“Don't go to see her. She shows no signs of repentance. Let her reflect on herself in prison. Tell Winwin
not to be afraid of her threats. She may not come out after six years.”
Brian said coldly, and asked a question.
“Did Winwin visit Penny before she was sentenced?”
That day was great sorrow for Brian, so he forgot Winnie's visit to Penny in prison.
“It was Penny threatened the police with death, and the police told Winwin to go. Penny begged Winwin
not to pursue her responsibility, and asked Winwin to persuade you not sue her for the child. Winwin
refused.”
“She hates Winwin even more because Winwin refused.”
“That was definitely the last time Winwin and I see her.”
Daenerys and Winnie said that more than once, but they still cared about her. They thought she was
pathetic and had no one to take care of her, but unexpectedly, she lived a good life.
“Daenerys, you said Penny has a single and money, is that her own money?”
Brian attached importance to this problem.
Penny was not on good terms with her family and had few friends. Richard's whereabouts were
unknown and no one was looking after her. The only possibility was her own money.
“Didn't she pay the fine with her money?”
Daenerys didn't know why.
“It was a small amount. I gave her a lot of money and property, so the fine was nothing to her.”
Brian said it was Penny's own money, but still felt that there was something wrong.
The next day in his office, Brian thought about it again. He felt that since it had been bothering him, he
should look it up.
But when he called Albert, his phone rang, Brian picked up the phone.
“Wendy.”
Brian said indifferently.
“Brian, today is my mother's birthday. Can you come to my house tonight?”
Wendy said softly with temptation.
After being warned by Brian that day, she was careful not to stir up the incident to make him unhappy.
“......”
Brian did not reply to Wendy immediately, but thought for a while.
Now that he had decided to marry Wendy and Wendy had been back for some time, he should not
always avoid her family.
“All right, I'll be there after work.”
“Really? Good. I'll prepare the presents. You just need to come.”
Wendy excitedly said. She did not expect Brian to agree.
Brian put down the phone and unconsciously thought of Winnie.
Winnie's birthday was coming soon. He wondered if he should give her a present.
Thinking of the present, he went to his desk, pulled open a drawer and took out the diamond ring, the
only one in the world.
Look at this diamond ring, he thought of Winnie.
If Wendy did not come back, he believed that he had been with Winnie. Even if his grandfather did not
agree, he could not get married and just stayed with Winnie.
However, they missed and there was no chance.
Winnie had been busy all morning, finally she could take a break by lunch time. She had just returned
from dinner and wanted to lie down on the sofa in office. And then the phone rang.
Inadvertently, she took a look at the caller ID, it was Felix calling. Winnie picked it up.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“Hello, Chairman.”
Winnie was the first to say hello.
“Winnie, I need your help. I am in the teahouse opposite your company. Please come over.”
Felix's voice was mild, but his invitation was not allowed to refuse.
“I'll be right there.”
Winnie put down the phone and sighed. Then she put on her coat and went out with her bag.
Winnie came to the teahouse, and Butler Lowe was standing at the door of the compartment.
“Hello, Butler Lowe.”
“Hello, Winnie, the chairman is waiting for you inside.”
Butler Lowe said very formally. Although he was not a good talker, he had been very respectful to
Winnie.
Winnie smiled kindly and then pushed the door into the compartment.
“Have you been waiting for me for a long time, Chairman?”
Winnie greeted and sat down.
“Never mind. I have nothing to do, it is ok to wait for a while.”
Felix’s attitude to Winnie was better than to Wendy.
Although Winnie did not complete the task he gave, Winnie did not disturb Brian.
According to his men, Brian and Winnie rarely met. This showed that Winnie had kept her promise and
proved that she was a person of her word.
“Is there anything wrong?”
Winnie asked kindly.
Although Felix was not busy, he was not the person to chat with Winnie. So Winnie knew that he found
her for something.
“First of all, I thank you for taking care of Luke. Luke lives with you, I can’t let you raise him, so I give
you a bank card as the living expenses of Luke, and I will give you more when it spends out.”
Then Felix handed Winnie his bank card.
Winnie raised her mouth, lamenting that the Bennet family used to solve problems with money.
Winnie took the bank card and then put it in front of Felix.
“Chairman, Mr. Bennet already gave me Luke’s living expenses, so I can't accept yours. I like Luke and
he gets along well with Megan. I will take good care of him, don’t worry.”
Winnie refused. She would not take any of the money from the Bennet family.
“Oh, Brian has given it to you. Then tell me when you spend out and I'll give it to you.”
Felix said.
“Ok, I'll let you know. But the money is enough for Luke to spend for five years. The cost of living can
be given five years later.”
Winnie knew what Felix meant, and knew that he was worried.
In fact, even if Brian gave her money, he transferred to her, she would not take that chance to see him.
And she could not ask money from Felix.
But in order to make Felix to feel relieved, Winnie answered him as he wanted.
Now Brian was afraid of her influence on his happiness, and Felix was afraid of her destruction of
Wendy and Brian's marriage.
She felt like a thief in front of the Bennet family, and her dignity was trampled like a footmat.
She would rather stay away from them if possible.
“Well, Brian is thoughtful. But I also want to thank you, thank you to teach Luke so excellent.”
Felix knew that Winnie was a wise man. She knew what to do when he hinted at it. He liked such a
smart and obedient child.
“Luke is clever.”
Winnie said modestly. She was willing to pay their lives for her children and did not need anyone to
thank her.
“Winnie, can’t you continue help to improve Brian’s relationship with his father?”
Felix asked with contradiction.
On the one hand, he did not want Winnie and Brian to have too much contact, on the other hand, he
wanted Brian and his father could be reconciled.
Wendy volunteered, but there was no news, and she hadn’t even moved to the suburbs. Winnie was
more forceful.
“Chairman, I no longer work at the Bennet Group, and Brian won’t listen to me. And I don't have much
time to see him. This task is really beyond my power. I'm sorry, chairman.”
Winnie said seriously. This matter went against the original intention of Felix, it was likely to test her.
Even if he meant it, she did not want to be involved.
“I understand, never mind, I will try another way.”
Felix had to give up.
Then he, too, became serious and continued.
“Winnie, there's one more thing I'd like your help. But no one should know about it. You know, I know,
that's all.”
Looking at Felix's puckering brow, Winnie had to be cautious.
“You can tell me, if you trust me.”
“......”
Wendy carefully prepared a present for her mother for an afternoon, and then came to Brian's office
waiting for Brian.
Brian went to a meeting. Wendy felt bored and walked around in the office. She walked to the floor
window to look at the blue sky outside, and then sat on Brian's office chair.
And then she became very interested in the door that had been closed all the time. She had heard from
Brian that he had been living in the company during this period of time. Maybe this door was his break
room.
The door was unlocked and Wendy pushed it open. Then she walked slowly in.
The furnishings inside was nothing special, just beds and sofas. There were two pillows on the bed,
which was nothing special. But Wendy indescribably felt this break room some ambiguous.
She did not know where her strange thoughts had come from, only that it grew stronger and stronger.
She opened a drawer beside the bed, and in it lay a picture frame, which lay face down.
Wendy recognized the frame at a glance, which she had given to Brian. If she remembered correctly,
there should be a picture of her.
When she gave it to Brian, she said she liked Brian looked at her picture when he was thinking about
her.
Seeing that her picture was put in the drawer, Wendy could not help but feel sour.
She picked up the picture and felt bitter then she saw her innocent look in the picture.
Why did Brian put her picture in the drawer? He didn’t want to see her, or didn’t want other women to
see it? Was there a woman living here with him every night?
