“So… Blair, nice to meet you…”
He smiled smugly at her, while she pouted looking annoyed by his tactics. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
“Could you keep this between us?”
“For now, I’m not promising anything. I’m trying to help you out here. Look, Blair, just stay here for a while then let see what I can do for you. I have friends at shelters, you can survive this. Get a new identity, a new life…”
He was battling himself as to why he wanted to help her so badly, and why he couldn’t seem to keep his hands off of her. And on the other side of the couch, Blair was cursing on the inside, while her common sense kept on telling her to get the hell out of there.
“Ian, I’m not… this is not good, you can’t help me. I just need to get out of here. I was on my own before my car and money got stolen. I’m sure you’ve felt sorry for me, but I can do this on my own. And…”
“Blair, I need you to think…” he got up and start pacing back and forth in front of her, his fingers trailing his hair in frustration. His chest was full of mixed feelings of him wanting to protect her, and it was scaring him to the point where he was thinking to just letting her go. But his other side of the brain was obviously winning the argument, as he kept on pushing her to stay.
“… you’re hurt, you don’t have a place to stay, you don’t have a job, you don’t even have money for your meals!” he was baffled by her drive in trying to survive on her own.
“Ian…”
He sighed for the second time he heard her saying his name. He wasn’t sure the first time, but he was still not sure when he heard her for the second time either. The slight ping on his chest echoes again when his name rolled out of her perfectly shaped lips.
“I can…”
She was still being a stubborn woman, she didn’t know why she needed to debate every word that came out of his mouth.
Deep down she knew that he was right, but she needs to get away, he was a cop. Her wanted profile might already be sent out to his precinct.
“Blair, do I really need to bring you to work just to make sure you’re not wandering around the city aimlessly?… I can help with your work too… I know small business owners but they won’t hire people who can’t function.”
She finally silences herself when his words threaten her, then he was taking a breather knowing that his words finally sink in and that she would stay at his.
For now. Then what? what are you trying to get yourself into dude?
Again he was busy with his thoughts when he eventually snapped out of it, feeling his phone buzzed from his pants.
“Detective Taylor. Yes sir. This morning sir…” he left her for some privacy. She rests herself back on the couch. Closing her eyes and letting her mind work out her issues.
She was nowhere near any solution when he came out of his room looking sharp and ready for work. Her heart beats a little bit faster, her fingers were itching to put back a couple of strands of his hair which were out of place.
“I need to go to the office, the maid will be here in a couple of hours. She usually comes every couple of times a week, but I had texted her to come every day. I don’t want you to do any house chores. Listen, if you really want to get away from here just heal yourself first…”
Her mind was trying to compose her words, but she was stumped looking at his handsome features. Again her inner self was baffled by the realization. All the years she was with Benjamin, she never even had the slightest urge to take a second look and appreciate his looks. But when Ian was in front of her, she couldn’t even take her eyes off of him.
“What? is there something in my face?” he asked while his hand was feeling his face.
“No, nothing… you look… okay…” she tugged the end of her lips. Her words poured out of her mouth effortlessly. She walked and stand before him, her dainty fingers touched his short strands and tidy his hair.
She’s beautiful. Too damn beautiful.
He tried to hold himself from wanting her so badly, but she was closing in on him. And he was losing the battle when he took her hand and put it on his chest, then he caressed her cheek and lowered himself down for a kiss.
“Blair…”
The kiss was getting hot in seconds and he could feel himself getting hard from it. Her fingers dug onto his shirt, pulling him closer as they both started to feel the heat. She was moaning in seconds, he was groaning to her needs, both tongues were molded sensually until Ian pulled back and she rests her feet down onto her heels. She didn’t even realize that she was tipping on her toes while reaching out for his kiss. She was still blushing when he backed down a bit admiring her shyness.
“I have to go, Rose will be here in a couple of hours. I already informed her about you being my guest, I haven’t revealed your name to her. Just stay here, oh… there’s money stashed in the cookie jar for any emergency or if you want to order lunch. But Rose will be making yours and the rest of our meals and put them all in the fridge.”
He was saying his words in a hurry, but then pulling her in for another quick kiss.
“I’ll be home for dinner, just make yourself at home. Damn… I really need to leave.”
She let out the most beautiful laughter he has ever heard, he would smack himself in the head if someone would say the words. But at the time he was fascinated by her, and it made him wonder once again.
Standing still in her sleeping attire, her beautiful blush framed her face as she looked at him with her desire reflected in her eyes.
“Okay…”
That was all she managed to let out. The intense kiss overwhelmed her, knowing she had spent years kissing Benjamin yet nothing compares to the kiss they just shared. Not even all those kisses they shared in the early days of their marriage, not even when they were just dating.
She closed the door after him then rest her back on it, her head touched the wooden door as she sighed and her mind was fighting for her attention.
Need to be careful, Jane. He knows your maiden name already.
Her fingers touched her swollen lips, her eyes close as she relived the kiss in her mind.
I’m in trouble, big big trouble. I need to get away from him. And I need to do it quickly.
