Her Savior

Chapter 33 His Jealousy

Blair was sighing back to the couch. The room living room was dark and cold, as the curtain was still drawn. Celia had called minutes earlier inviting her for their dinner barbeque gathering. But Blair was not in the mood, she was still grieving for her mom. Their last trip to the city was her way of cementing back their friendship. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

But that day she needed to be alone, to mourn for the loss of her mother. That late afternoon she curled up in her mother’s bed hugging her pillow and pulled up her mother’s blanket and basked in her scent.

But the nap didn’t last very long. She was woken up by another dreadful dream. where she saw Gracia laughing and having a meal with a man. She couldn’t see who it was because he was facing the other way. But her eyes were glued to his back knowing that she recognized the man. She woke up abruptly from her sleep seeing that it was Ian who was sitting with Garcia.

She didn’t fall back to sleep again. It has been like that for the past couple of days, and she was actually tired from the lack of sleep. She was making a cup of coffee when Ian called.

“Hey, baby,”

“Hey…” her voice was small, she was feeling feverish.

“I’m on my way there. Still stuck in the afternoon traffic. You don’t sound so good. Are you sure you’re okay?”

“I’m just tired, I didn’t get much sleep.” She was back to the couch after coming back from her mom’s room with a big fluffy blanket.

“Well… try and get some rest, I’ll be there in a couple more hours. I miss you, Blair.”

“I miss you too.”

“I’m sorry about Garcia.”

“Ian…”

“No, seriously hear me out. She took my phone away and I was asleep most of the time from the pain meds. Up until my mom came to check on me.”

“It’s okay Ian… I was just, I needed you. And it wasn’t your fault that you got shot that same day.”

“I’m so sorry baby, I wish I could be there right now and not leave you alone.”

“I’m not alone… got my neighbors, my childhood friends.”

“Yeah? are they taking care of you right now?”

“No, I wanted to be alone. I was with them yesterday and now I was planning to stay back and mourn for my mom. But now I don’t feel so good…”

They talk for another minute until Ian ended the call as the traffic started to move. Then she was back to hiding herself under the blanket until there was a knock and Danny’s voice was heard.

She groaned when she lost the warmth of the blanket and opened the door for him.

“Wow… you look sick, wait… damn Blair you’re burning up,” Danny said as he touched the back of his hand to her forehead.

“Celia wanted to make sure that you have food, but I’m guessing you haven’t even eaten your lunch haven’t you?”

Blair shook her head and get under the blanket again.

“I just need to rest.”

“Blair, you need to eat. Sit, I’m setting you a plate.” Danny grumbled to himself while he sets up the plate in front of her, he didn’t want to bother with getting her to the dining table. She didn’t look so good, he just wants her to eat and get better quickly.

She didn’t eat much, but he managed to make her finish more than half of the portion. Then he made her drink an off the counter anti-fever drug from her medicine cabinet

She was sleepy while he was telling her stories about their teens’ mishaps and adventures. Her back rests on his shoulder while the blanket covered her body snuggly.

And that was when Ian found them an hour later, sleeping together on the couch after finding her front door unlocked and he lets himself in.

He was full of rage in an instant, jealousy was filling every nook of his heart until he was seeing red.

“Who are you?… Blair?” Ian dropped his overnight bag with a loud thud and it waking both of them. He asked with too much emotion, he was trying to keep his rage down but failing miserably.

“Ian? you’re here already.” She sounded sleepy as she slowly sits up, while Danny quickly got up and cover her again with the blanket and told her to go back to sleep.

“I’ll talk to him, you need to rest.”  Danny put a pillow under her head telling her to go back to sleep.

“You, come with me,” Danny whispered harshly as he passes Ian on his way out the front door.

Ian followed him only to punch Danny in the face as soon as they both reached the front porch.

“What the fuck dude!” Danny said punching him back in the face.

“She’s my woman! why is she sleeping with you?! who the fuck are you!”

“I’m her freaking neighbor, the one who has been there for her. Unlike her man! who didn’t even show up to her mom’s funeral!”

Danny punched Ian on his stomach, just inches away from where he got shot making Ian fall with a very loud growl.

“Danny!!! what did you do?!”

She was to Ian’s side in an instant, she could see blood was seeping from his wound already when she lifts his shirt.

“Wait, I didn’t hit him that hard,” Danny replied as he tried to defend himself in front of his childhood friend.

“Help me get him inside, call a doctor! Quickly, Danny! he was shot! and you just punch him there! It’s bleeding, Danny!!!”

“Damn it!” Danny cursed as he helped Ian back inside the house.

“Blair, go back in and put your damn jacket on!” Danny cursed when Blair was holding on to his wound as Ian was squirming in pain and looking at Danny with full of rage.

“Don’t talk to her like that!”

“She has a freaking high fever you dumbass, and it’s cold outside! Blair, inside now! I got him!”

Blair put on her jacket and waited for Danny to sit Ian on the couch. Then Danny pulls out his phone and calls the family doctor.

Blair introduced the two men while they waited for the doctor. And then it was not long until the doctor came and treated Ian’s wound.

“Doc, please can you check on her too?”

“I’m fine Danny…”

“No, you’re not. She has a very high fever doc. I gave her medication but if you could prescribe her with the good ones that’ll be better.”

Danny was very persistent. But Blair finally backed down when Ian told her to get checked.

Ian just look at the man, he seemed sincere enough and their interaction with each other looked more like siblings bickering rather than lovers. And with Blair having his back and actually taking care of him in front of Danny it made his jealousy simmer down quickly.

The doctor was checking on her after Ian said that she felt warm. Danny scoffed when he saw Blair relent to Ian instead of him and agreed to get herself checked.

It was an hour later when the doctor was gone and leave medications for Ian and Blair.

“I’m going to head on back now and give you two some privacy. But remember, I live next door. If you hurt her in any way I’m going to rip that wound and make your life a living hell.”

“Ditto. And remember that I am the law, I can make your life a living hell.” Ian smirked, he was actually liking the guy but obviously not showing it. He was still marking his territory and showing Danny that he was there for the long run.

Both men stare at each other for the longest until Blair sighed and pushed Danny out the door.
