Shannon leaped to her feet, glaring furiously at Abigail. “Abigail, how dare you say this isn’t the work of the Tanner family? What kind of parents would publicly denounce their own daughter like this?”
Although Shannon had encountered a mother like Donna, who wasn’t her biological mother, her real parents, Quintin and Jessie, while cold and distant, had never gone this far.
Shannon’s own parents weren’t great, but throughout her life, she had seen countless examples of loving, devoted parents who sacrificed everything for their daughters.

“Lea, what are you up to?” Rita, seeing Lea so nonchalant and apparently enjoying the show, felt an unexplainable anxiety.
Her suspicion was not unfounded. Every event involving Lea had been full of unexpected twists. Everything seemed to be under their control, but in the end, things always took bizarre turns, and they ended up being the ones suffering.
“These issues have nothing to do with me. What tricks could I be playing?” Lea replied.
Rita’s worries eased as she thought about it.
Abigail’s supporters behind her breathed a sigh of relief.
“Abigail is so unfortunate,” Leona said with red eyes, standing next to Abigail. “Her cousin was framed, and now she and her father are being wronged.”
“It’s unfair for Abigail to bear all this,” someone added.
“Abigail, don’t be sad. We all support you.” Daisy and the others quickly comforted her.
“I’m fine…” Abigail said, her gaze downcast as she touched the corner of her eye.
Her long hair, held back with an expensive crystal clip, fell loosely around her. Dressed in a lace puff–sleeve top, she looked utterly pitiful and burdened.
Her male fans were deeply distressed, and a tall young man stepped forward. “Lea, you’ve gone too far this time. Apologize to Abigail immediately.”
“The truth is just as I said. You’ve wronged the Tanner family and slandered Abigail and her father. It’s not unreasonable to ask you to apologize.”
“Apologize quickly.”
“Just look at the live stream. Calvin has already been acquitted and is on his way out.”
In their eyes, Calvin had become a victim of false accusations. The admiration and loyalty they showed Abigail had reached a disturbing level.
Abigail had indeed attracted quite a few male admirers at school.
Lea sneered coldly. “What’s the rush? It’s not too late to apologize after Calvin has left.”

“Abigail, you have to forgive Lea. You’re so outstanding that it’s inevitable you’ll be targeted. Lea is so busy, and making mistakes is normal,” Rita said with a sarcastic tone.

Shannon clenched her teeth, her cheeks puffed up, mentally reassuring herself. ‘Stay calm. These scum aren’t worth my anger. With Lea acting like this, there’s more to the story!

At the police station, Dwayne and his trusted aides stood at the door, watching as Calvin, surrounded by the Tanner family’s bodyguards, made his way to the luxury car.
The bodyguard opened the car door, and Calvin bent down to enter. “Mr. Brown, is he really just leaving like this?” Dwayne’s secretary asked, visibly frustrated.
On one hand, he couldn’t understand why Dwayne, who had gone to great lengths and angered one of Iverton’s top families to arrest someone, could have made such a mistake.
On the other hand, he felt something was off. The victim’s body was still with their forensic team, and the victim had endured extreme torture before death, with severe disfigurement. Such
behavior indicated a twisted sexual deviant.
He was certain Calvin was an extreme pervert.
“He won’t get away,” Dwayne said, his eyes fixed on Calvin, his gaze intense and resolute.
The evidence against Calvin had come from Quicksilver, and they never made mistakes. The people they targeted were always the most heinous criminals.
The secretary was even more confused. Calvin had already gotten into the car.
Bang! The car door slammed shut.
The driver, already prepared, started the engine, and the car began to move.
As the window rolled down, Calvin looked back at Dwayne, made a gesture with his hand, pointed to his forehead, and gave a mock salute with a devilish grin, revealing a set of gleaming white teeth.
He was taunting and threatening.

‘Dwayne dared to arrest me publicly. I’ll make sure he’s removed from his position when I get back,‘ Calvin thought.
The car accelerated and drove away.
The secretary’s face changed. “But…”
Before he could finish, Dwayne’s phone rang. He answered it and barked out a command. “Stop Calvin.”
