Her Return, His Regret

Chapter 79~ I still won

Earlier, before Ivy arrived at the venue, Ryan glanced at Adan and asked, "Is the gift ready?"Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Adan laughed when he remembered what gift Ryan was talking about. He shook his head and said, "You know what... I had forgotten how crazy you can be. How did you even think of that?"

Ryan smirked. He remarked, "Ivy is cunning... if I just accused her of being able to walk in public, do you think she would willingly accept defeat? She would probably put on a show and make us look like we are bullying a poor disabled woman." With Ivy's acting skills, Ryan was very sure she would manage to weave herself out of a difficult situation. What he wanted was to expose her clearly in front of everybody so that everyone knows what kind of snake she was.

"Well, I must say your plan is genius. Ivy won't even realise that she's exposed herself until a few seconds later," Adan responded. "I have it close by. When you need it, I'll bring it to you."

Ryan nodded. Tonight, he was determined to deal with Ivy once and for all.

Soon, Ivy arrived and Ryan's stomach churned when she approached him and smiled sweetly. How could she still be happy after causing someone's death? Was she even human?

Ryan was so disgusted with himself. This was the person he trusted just because she had saved his life twice. He was such a fool.

Now that he saw her for the evil woman that she was, pretending to like her made him feel sick. Just the thought of getting engaged to her, even if it was fake, made him want to throw up.

However, for Lora and his children, he had to stay strong and maintain his façade. Only then would he be able to punish Ivy.

For Ivy, her reputation was very important... she really cared about what others, especially high-society elites thought of her. Exposing her in front of the whole country would be the best punishment... she would get arrested in front of everyone and everyone would know the real her.

This was Ivy's worst nightmare and Ryan would make sure he gave her the best experience.

He went to the stage and invited Ivy to join him on the stage. When he told her he had a gift for her, he scoffed when he saw the huge grin on her face.

However, he maintained his poker face and got the box that contained Ivy's special gift from Adan.

A smirk crossed Ryan's lips when he took out the gift and placed it on Ivy's lap.

Gasps echoed around the hall before it fell into complete silence. Everyone was looking at the gift that Ryan had put on Ivy's lap in shock.

Ryan smiled and told Ivy. "Ivy, you can now open your eyes and see your gift."

Ivy smiled smugly and slowly opened her eyes. However, when she looked at her lap, she saw something shiny slithering on her lap and flicking its tongue at her. Before Ivy could tell what was happening, her heart jumped out of her chest just as she jumped out of her wheelchair before jumping around hysterically.

"AH! Get it off! Get it off! Ah!"

"I hate snakes! Ah! Take it away!"

She felt like something crawled down her leg and she jumped higher than before as though she was in a skipping rope competition.

"AH! Ryan! Get it off me, please!" Ivy screamed, forgetting about her ladylike image.

The hall fell silent as they watched Ivy jump like her life depended on it.

Wasn't she disabled? How come her legs were so strong? Could it be a miracle?

A murmur swept through the crowd as they all glanced at Ivy with shock and confusion. She didn't look like someone who had suddenly regained feeling in her legs. What did this mean? Had she been pretending to be disabled?

The media people who were around weren't too lazy to capture videos of Ivy jumping around after jumping from her wheelchair.

This was big news!

Ivy Williams could walk! She had been pretending for several years and played the victim. What a vicious woman!

Many of the guests couldn't help but talk about Ivy while watching her make a fool out of herself.

"Oh my God! I can't believe what I'm seeing. Ivy had been lying to us all along. She used her legs to gain sympathy!"

"Wow! I never thought she was that type of woman. So she lied to make Ryan marry her? What a shame!"

"What do you expect? If she could plagiarise Miss L's work, lying about her legs is nothing. I'm not surprised." Meanwhile, Ivy suddenly realised what she was doing and stilled, her heart sinking to the pits of her stomach.

She glanced at Ryan and suddenly

fell to the ground before saying, "R-Ryan, don't know what happened just now... it must have been my reflexes since I'm so scared of snakes. How could you

get me a snake when you know I'm scared of snakes?"

Ryan couldn't help but be impressed with Ivy's acting. 'So, this was how I was fooled too.'

He picked up the yellow-coloured python and approached Ivy before putting it on her lap again.

Ivy stood up again, shouting, "AH! Get it off! Please!"

Ryan laughed and said, "You don't need to continue faking your disability... the whole world already knows you can walk now."

He approached her and held the snake in his hands before saying, "Now... are you going to keep denying it or do you want my little friend here to give you a hug?"

Ivy trembled and stepped back. "Stay away! Don't bring that filthy thing near me!"

She looked around and saw the judgemental looks in everyone's eyes. The clicking of the cameras felt like odd sounds that one could only hear when watching a horror movie.

It was all over! Everyone now knew that she had lied... She was doomed!

A lightbulb suddenly went off in Ivy's head. She glanced at Ryan and accused, "You set me up!"

Ryan let out a low, calm laugh. He replied, "No... you set yourself up. I'm not the one who's been lying and committing crimes for so many years... it was all you."

Ivy shook her head before she screamed, "No! I didn't do anything wrong! Lora stole you from me... is it wrong to fight for what is mine?"

"Yours?" Ryan scoffed. "Don't be delusional, Ivy. I only belong to Lora... my one and only wife."

Ryan's words hit Ivy like a punch to the gut.

Lora. Oh, how she hated that name! It was like a curse that kept haunting her dreams every night. What was so special about Lora anyway? Why couldn't Ryan forget her even after her death?

Ivy suddenly laughed before saying, "Your wife, huh? It doesn't matter if you expose me now... you won't end up with Lora either... She's dead and gone! Hahaha! I still won!"

"Who said I'm dead?"
