Rita’s POV

My eyes were heavy, I had dark eye bags circled round it, I didn’t sleep well last night yet I had to work tirelessly the following day (today).

I looked forward to the recess period and atlas …

“Oh finally! It’s time to take a break” I placed my head on the table.

“You’re not getting lunch?” Evelyn asked.

“I’m tired and sleepy. I’m gonna have a siesta instead” I told her.

“I can see it, your eyes are kind of bulgy” She gawked at me.

“That’s what you gain for dating a guy online. Midnight calls and chat but since it’s all for love, it’s fine” I yawned and she laughed.

“Lover girl, I’m happy to see you in love and I’m super excited that you are happy in love” She said and I blushed.

“I’m also glad I won’t be having that annoying disturbing conversation with you” I was referring to the way she pester me to find a lover. “And incase you do not know, you were indirectly mocking my marital status”

She laughed out loud.

“Okay now, you gotta go” I motioned her.

“I can’t go to the cafeteria without Adam, I’ll wait for him here”

“Oh please just let me have this one hour nap, I couldn’t even seize the opportunity earlier although there weren’t any client else the almighty boss might get upset” I said.

“Oh speaking about Finn, ugh! Mr Finn whatever, what did he say to you yesterday?”

“Nothing serious but I’m afraid he’ll end up heartbroken because that guy really really loves me”

“His cup of coffee!” Evelyn giggled. “Meanwhile honey, enjoy it while it last” She advised.

Just then, Adam came over.

“Uhm, Rita is not coming to the cafeteria. She needs to rest, let’s go alone” She interlocked her arm with his.

“Are you okay Rita?” Adam was concerned.

“So do you get it, come on let’s go” Evelyn pulled him away.

Oh good, I shut my eyes; trying to catch a nap when I heard Mr Finn’s voice.

“I bought you lunch” He approached me.

I raised my head up, he smiled widely, dishing out meals from the lunch pack.

“Thank you so much Finn” I appreciated.

“C’mon eat up” He said.

Geez! How do I tell this guy that I can never be interested in him, his green light is so flashy enough.

“I… uhm, I will eat later. I feel tired, sleepy, I need some rest” I managed to tell him, hoping that he won’t get offended and surprisingly, he wasn’t.

“Oh, that’s fine. Have some rest my darling” He told me without any complaint.

My darling? Oops whatever, I shut my eyes again.

In no time, I was gone. I slept off.

I had a dream about Zane,

I gave him an image of my own, very handsome like Adam had described, with a small beautiful scar on his face but what I saw was a beauty mark, in the form of scar.

Zane looked breathtaking.

If I was correct he was about six feet and some inches tall, and his jet black hair looked shiny and glossy under the room’s light.

His dark eyes seemed redoubtable under his long dark lashes as he gazed at me.

His prominent nose high against his chiseled face and medium stubble neatly shaped beard at the bottom of his face.

He seemed like everything at the same time, and I refrained myself from gulping as my eyes landed on his chest which seemed like they were trying to burst out open from his silk black shirt.

I watched as he checked me out a bit before raising his head up to look at my face.

“Atlas” He muttered, his countenance was mixed with amusement and excitement.

I was super excited to meet him too and astonished that he looked beyond my expectations.

That very day, Zane and I were meeting for the very first time, I had gone to pick him up at the airport and I recognized him right away.

We were staring deeply into each other’s eyes and beaming happily. I jumped on him, giving him a very big hug, there after; we kissed.

He told me how I looked more beautiful in real life than in pictures, I complimented him too. I took him right to my place, we spent the whole day doing all the romantic lovey dovey stuffs I’ve ever yearned for and we had the most amazing night together.

The following day, we visited my parents; they loved him at first sight and gave him their blessings. He introduced me to his family and I was also highly welcome.

We went on several dates since we never had any since we dated online. On one certain outing, he proposed to me and of course, I screamed yes.

Soon we began the wedding preparation and in no time, the wedding day finally came.

We stood at the alter, took our oats and said our vows then we kissed so passionately.

The priest proceeded to the compulsory question usually asked at every wedding ceremony.

“Is there anyone here who doesn’t want this marriage to hold?”

What a very dangerous question yet I had nothing to be afraid of because I knew everyone had been waiting for our union and I never ever cheated on Zane.

“Is there anyone here who thinks this marriage is a mistake and doesn’t want it to hold?” The priest asked again, his voice gradually became faint, I could hear some loud murmurings and footsteps drawing closer.

“I” Someone said, I managed to see who it was.

Turns out it was Finn.

The disturbance and noises from people barely made me hear what the priest was about to say next.

I opened my eyes, only to see Finn; sitting in front of me, he folded his arm, smiling, staring at me with so much keen.

“Sleeping beauty” He said, tracing the contours of my cheeks.

I yawned and looked around me, confused at first. I saw people walking around then it suddenly dawned on me that I was still at work.

Isn’t the lunch break over already? ‘Cos people were miling out of the company. On the other side was Evelyn, packing her bag and cleaning up.

“Finally, you are awake” She noticed me.

“Yes? Where are you going?” I asked, confused.

“Home of course, it’s closing hours” She replied.

“Closing hours?” I blurted and checked the wall clock.

“Oh My God Finn, I am so sorry” I apologized to Finn.

“Don’t mention. I ordered Evelyn not to wake you up because you seemed so tired. I’m sure you had a sound sleep right?” He said.

” It was supposed to be a short nap, I’m so sorry” I felt so guilty.

“Ugh Rita, Finn isn’t complaining. You should thank him instead and thank me too, I attended to all your clients, what a double workload for me!!” Evelyn said.

“Thank you so much, I owe you one. I slept like a baby, I heard no noise at all” Because I was engrossed in my sweet dreams.

But why the hell will Finn show up just when the priest asked that question?

I faked a weird smile at Finn anyways and I murmured thank you to him.

“Come, I’ll take you home. Don’t ever turn me down plus I have been waiting for you to wake up; sleeping beauty” Finn said.

“I can come with you guys right?” Evelyn jumped.

“Nah, sorry. I would love to have a private time alone with Rita. Besides, you have a boyfriend, don’t you?”

“She does” Adam responded, walking towards us just in time.

“Good” Finn smirked.

Then he turned to me and smiled; ” Shall we?” I nodded slowly and followed him.
