The first thing Stephanie Ruan did when she stepped inside is to close the door shut. And then she simply stood there and watched him from afar.

Without raising his head from the document in his hands, Javier Zhong ordered in a loud voice, “Hand over your document!”

However, all that he heard in response is the familiar ‘clicking’ sounds from a pair of high heels.

Unable to hide his stunned expression, Javier Zhong immediately looked up and saw Stephanie Ruan standing right in front of his desk.

“Not in a good mood?” She asked him with a slight smile.

With a soft chuckle, Stephanie Ruan turned away and took a good look at the design of his office. She is quickly attracted to a large bookshelf filled with business-related books.

Casually sliding her fingers across the books at eye level, she double-tapped on one of the books that had caught her eyes and pulled it out.

“About your offer the other day, I accept.”

Turning back to face him, she added, “But forget about all those cheesy words you said, it doesn’t suit you and I don’t need you to protect me.”

“I want to collaborate with you. Offer me your help this time, and I will make sure to return a favour to you in the future.”

Strolling over to his side with the book in one hand, she probed, “How does that sound?”

Javier Zhong stood up and stared into her almond-shaped eyes for a few seconds. Though it has only been a few days of not seeing her, it felt like forever to him.

He really missed her a lot!

Needless to say, his mood has also improved drastically just by being in her presence.

“Two favours.”

“I haven’t found an office yet… but if you agree, this can be my office from today onwards.”

Stephanie Ruan looked at him with a confident smile, as though she already knows that he would agree to this arrangement.
