Chapter 1052

Chapter 1052 Nasty Piece of Work The mayor was supposed to meet with the candidates. Yet, he took off.

Sherry and the others were dumbfounded.

With the mayor showing up and suddenly walking away, the group was left to wonder if they attended the meetup for nothing.

Nevertheless, they kept their thoughts to themselves, not showing their annoyance on their faces.

Sherry was disappointed.

Without the mayor in sight, she could not unleash her irresistible charms.

Roland returned on his own.

“Sir, does the mayor have an emergency?” Sherry hid her disappointment behind her smile and asked.

Roland scanned the group with a grimace and said curtly, “The mayor said that someone among you is a mean, indecent, nasty piece of work who would do anything to get a head start.

“He doesn’t want to be pulled into a scandal with the individual, so he canceled the meetup.

“The mayor also said that this individual is a disgrace to be nominated for the award for exemplary work.

“In light of that, the commendation ceremony is suspended.

“The ceremony will happen after the said individual is removed from the lineup.” Roland conveyed the mayor’s message.

The male candidates turned to the women there.

It was clear that the mayor was referring to one of the female candidates.

Sherry looked at the other women and said peevishly, “Thanks for ruining it for the rest of us.

“Who is the mean, indecent, nasty piece of work here? Don’t waste everybody's time.” Sherry acted bossy, unaware that she was a nasty piece of work.

She was good at keeping things confidential. Most men who got together with her believed she was a woman of virtue.

The mayor could not possibly be talking about her.

Some female candidates were embarrassed and furious while others kept a blank face. However, no one stepped forward. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Alright. Since none of you are admitting to it, you can return to your post and look into the matter yourself.

“The award will only be held when the truth comes to light.” Roland stormed off furiously.

Sherry panicked.

Her intention was to get close to the new mayor. The award for exemplary journalism did not matter to her.

Sherry chased after Roland and stood in his way before saying with a smile, “I am the anchor of the financial channel, Sherry Zauer, sir. I lead the segment on interviewing business leaders.

“Can I meet the mayor? I have something important to tell him.” Roland glanced at Sherry skeptically wondering if the mayor was talking about this woman.

He uttered coldly, “The mayor has a busy schedule. I doubt your talk is more important than his work.

“The mayor has made it clear that he won't meet any of you until the

individual is caught.

“Please leave now. I don’t want the indecency to spread in the mayor’s office.” Roland called the staff members over to kick the group out.

The employees in the mayor’s office did not give Sherry special treatment and denied her entry as well.

Sherry stomped her foot in rage, but there was nothing she could do about it.

The new mayor was a strong character who did not play favorites.

No one was foolish enough to go against the new mayor's orders.
