When Roland said he wanted to drink tea, he really meant it. After finishing his tea, he rose to leave.
Samara leaned on the sofa and looked at the door Roland closed behind him when he left. She slightly raised her eyebrows. After a while, she retracted her gaze and turned back to her room.
Roland, though he was a playboy, was quite a gentleman.
After taking a shower, Samara replied to Gisselle’s message. Then she directly turned off the lights and went to bed.
Early the next day, before the alarm went off, Samara woke up.
The room was very dark. Samara tilted her head to look at the curtain. It was dark outside.
Samara took her phone to check the time. It was a quarter past seven. She slept early last night and slept well, SO Samara was in a very good mood when she woke up. She planned to make a good breakfast for herself.

credit.

“Good morning, Ms. Novak.”
Samara put down her bag and smiled at Jimena, “Good morning, Jimena.”
Jimena detected Samara’s good mood. When she handed over today’s agenda to Samara, she said, “Ms. Novak, there is a dinner party tonight. Mr. Silva wants you to attend.”
“What dinner party?”
“A dinner with the representatives of the villagers in Ellisburg.”
Samara raised an eyebrow. “I see.”

Samara thought for a moment and said, “Check what Rogelio’s been up to lately.”
She came directly from the headquarters. It was fine if Rogelio wanted to make things difficult for her. But he was in charge of that project. How could he throw it to her right now? It was at the most critical moment.
Elephant Group planned to build an amusement park in the New Bay District of Houston. That district was vast and sparsely populated, but it just so happened that a village was located in the center of the planned area. It was a tricky thing. The headquarters of the group had already issued a document in October last year, asking Rogelio to settle the compensation for the demolition and buy the land.
Satnara divorced Chaim in November last year. When she returned to her parents‘ house after the divorce, she heard Kadin mention that Elephant Group in Houston had not yet settled the compensation issue.
The first offer was 1,300 dollars per 10 square feet. After all, the village was in the remote suburbs. Twenty–eight of the thirty–five households had signed the contract. As for the remaining seven families, five of them asked for 1,600
dollars per 10 square feet. The other two families wanted Elephant Group’s houses in downtown Houston in exchange. Also, the number of houses given should be in line with the headcounts of the two families.

The original twenty–eight families who had signed the contract regretted their decision and wanted to raise the compensation.
Tonight’s dinner party would be Elephant Group and Ellisburg’s third meeting to discuss the compensation matter. The compensation price was not something Samara could have a say in. Now Rogelio threw this hot potato to her. There was no way she could handle it.
Jimena immediately understood Samara’s thoughts. “I understand, Ms. Novak.”
Samara nodded. She looked at Jimena’s back. Her good mood for the whole day was ruined by Rogelio.
