Chapter Seven
It’s been over 15 minutes and Tasha hasn’t moved or let alone breathe like she was alive. Austin was scared and sweating profusely. He looked around but no one came to his aid. Whenever he screams “help” his voice comes running back to him.
Confused and not knowing what to do, Tasha was just in his arms, as he sat on the ground, downcast.
He suddenly felt her moving with her eyes opening gradually
“Tasha!” He shook her aggressively as if he wanted her to be up quickly
“What happened,” Tasha asked, as she held her head and gradually sat up, then squinted her eyes. She could feel her head banging like a music concert was being held there. She couldn’t see clearly, the tree and even Austin’s perfectly dark skinned toned face and fairly shaped brows were all blurred. She felt like she was stunned by an aggressive hit from a fist or something harder.
“You passed out as we came out of the cemetery”
She looked back and saw the average iron gate of the cemetery, it was silver in color and the color was almost washed off already. She could see the walls surrounding it and it wasn’t as high as the ones she saw while she was in the cemetery. She couldn’t figure out how that was possible or why everything was going this way but she was glad she came out of there.
“But..” Tasha still looking confused
“But what?” Austin leaned closer immediately, looking worried. He had no idea why she fainted, but he was just glad she was okay. He wasn’t ready to witness another death, let alone be there when it happened.
“It’s nothing, let’s get going”
“No, you should rest a bit”
She glanced up at him and could see him sweating with it written all over his face that he was worried.
“Wait, were you scared?” She asked smilingProperty © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
Austin immediately feigned a mean look “No I wasn’t”
“Then you were worried”
” I just didn’t want a psychotic lady, who I don’t know dying on me”
“Can you stop calling me that?”
“Calling you what?”
“You know what I’m talking about”
“Oh, I don’t”
“The psychotic lady thing”
“Oh that!” Austin raised his eyebrows
“Yes that, Just stop it”
“Okay, your highness” he agreed with a sarcastic tone.
Tasha stood up immediately “whatever” she started walking, not knowing where she was heading to. But she needed to leave his presence as he was already getting her upset.
“I said you needed to rest”
She stopped abruptly and turned to him ” And how’s that your business?”
He sighed, “Okay, I am sorry”
“Sorry for?”
Austin bent his head, gnashing his teeth. She was going to make him say this. “I’m sorry for being a Jerk”
Tasha’s face lightened up almost immediately “And there it is, nothing happened to you as you apologized right?” She walked back to where he was. “Now that’s the first step to being a better man”
“Don’t push it” He replied coldly, ignoring the hand Tasha stretched to help him get up. He stood up, cleaning the back of his shorts as it was covered in brown mud.
Tasha overlooked what he did and followed him as he was leading her to the bus terminal. She slid her hand in between his arms.
“So what should we talk about?”
Austin stared at her puzzled, and slowly removed her hands ” I agreed to help you, didn’t say we were friends”
“Are you also dumb?”
‘Excuse me?” Austin stopped immediately and Tasha stood still staring at him straight into his eyeballs. He was a bit taller than her, she was at his shoulder length and he could easily see in between her head.
“Yes, are you also dumb? She repeated, “because I never recalled saying we were friends”
Austin hesitantly started walking and left her behind as he had nothing else to say to her. Tasha stood behind, watching him walk away, and wondered how someone could be this handsome and be this rude.
“Wait up” she ran after him. They walked for some minutes before she started seeing nice buildings with nice structures. The House painted with brown, and red lights hung over the roof with flowers planted outside their walls caught her attention.
“Wow, who owns this” she pointed to the building. Austin followed her finger and saw it was Jade’s. But he was still feeling bad about how she got him the last time and wanted to get back at her.
“I’m supposed to know the owner of every building in Boston, right?”
“You could have just said No, you don’t have to be rude about it”
“Now I’m being rude?” Austin snapped at her
“Don’t shout at me, don’t you ever!” Tasha raised her finger at him. Austin couldn’t put up with her any longer and she has gotten him angry more times he had snapped at people for his mother’s death.
“Well good luck finding your way back to Brooklyn” Austin adjusted his bags as he walked away from her with no particular place in mind.
“Okay!”
“I’ll find my way without you then” Tasha scoffed at Austin.
Austin walked away not caring about her or how she found her way back home.
“Shit” Austin just remembered he had training scheduled with Nala earlier that day and he hurriedly brought out his phone and saw Nala’s missed calls.
Nala
Pick up your phone.
He saw the text she also left him. How could he not have heard his phone ring? His anger and raged focused on Tasha, it was all her fault. If he had not been so busy with her, he was sure he would miss Nala’s call. He tried calling her back but it all ended with Her hanging up on him.
“I’m sorry” Austin typed, but erased it. “let me make it up to you” he also deleted that and ended up not sending anything but drowning in anger and regret, he has every chance to make it up to Nala but ends up messing up every time.
Everywhere seemed foreign to Tasha, she had no idea where she was going, Darkness had graced the land she could see nothing but street lights beaming and no one in plain sight. She came to a stop where saw a long pole with a sign which read Busstop. She sighed with relief hoping to find a bus that would lead her somewhere and when she asked the right questions, she’ll be on her way home. She Sat on the bench there with a protective canopy on top. Swinging her legs and burying her head in her hands, after a few minutes of waiting, she heard the sound of a bus moving fast toward her direction and she quickly sprang up to her feet.
“Hey!” She waved her hands signaling the bus to stop but it just went by. Disappointed, she went back to sitting and hoped another comes by because it was already very late and she shouldn’t be out by that time. She was used to late outings but only when she was with a male protective figure but now she was alone. She stayed there hoping and waiting for buses to come by but the same thing happened, they didn’t stop for her and they all went by like she wasn’t there.
