From Heartbreak to Happily Ever After Novel

Chapter 705

The next day, Edgar waited in a café, his eyes repeatedly darting to his watch. He had been waiting for over an hour, his patience wearing thin. A waitress approached him, her eyes scanning him curiously.

A waitress approached, asking, “Sir, would you like a refill on your coffee?”

Her tone was polite, but her gaze betrayed a hint of judgment. Edgar was dressed impeccably, exuding an aura of success and wealth. His striking good looks made him stand out, and it was clear that the waitress was puzzled by his lingering presence over a single cup of coffee.

Edgar noticed her scrutiny and realized his coffee had been finished.

In the past, he wouldn’t have batted an eye at ordering the most expensive items on the menu, but circumstances had changed. Now he was short of money.

“Yeah, please refill it,” he sighed.

The waitress raised an eyebrow, her disdain now obvious.

Finally, Chace rushed into the café, and Edgar’s irritation flared up. From NôvelDrama.Org.

“You’re late. What took you so long? What’s so important that you couldn’t just say it over the phone?” he demanded, his voice sharp and accusatory.

“I’m sorry, sir,” Chace said, bowing his head apologetically. “My flight was delayed, so it took longer than expected.”

Edgar waved his hand impatiently. “You said that the loan was sorted last night. What’s the situation now?

Chace replied, “I contacted several banks, but none of them were willing to approve such a large loan. They were concerned about the risks.”

Edgar snapped, “And you came to see me without securing the results?”

Chace explained, “But I did manage to find a lender.”

Edgar’s eyes narrowed with skepticism. “Who? Who could have that kind of money?”

Tens of billions of dollars wasn’t a small sum. He knew pretty much all the richest individuals.

Chace observed his expression.

It’s Tracy, the owner of McKinney Group.”

“Tracy?”

“Yes.”

“Are you out of your mind? I’ve been actively working against Tracy, and you’re telling me he wants to lend me money?”

I know it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true. However, he does have a few conditions.”

“What kind of conditions?

“He is willing to lend ten billion.”

“Ten billion? That’s peanuts compared to what we need.”

“At least, that amount is enough to keep Flesta’s projects afloat and ensure operations continue.”

“But I’ve spent so much on expanding our business here. If I don’t get more than that, all the money I’ve invested will be for nothing.”

Edgar’s loud voice drew the attention of other customers.

Chace tried to calm him down.

“I understand that, but we can make up for the losses later. If you don’t agree to this loan now, we’ll have nothing left,” he said, observing Edgar’s expression. “Sir, this is our last chance.”
