From Heartbreak to Happily Ever After Novel

Chapter 696

Erico practically shoved Debra into the bathroom, her voice bubbling with excitement. “Wash your face. We need to get started.”

Debra protested, “Wall, what is all this for?”

Erica’s eyes sparkled. “I think Marion’s going to propose.”

Debra blinked. “Where did you hear that?”

Erica asked back, “Isn’t he? We all thought so. Why else would he go to all this trouble and have Randy get a whole glam team for you?”

Debra shook her head. “Marion already promised Caleb that both the proposal and engagement ceremony would be handled by Caleb. There is no way he’d let Marion interfere with it.”

Erica deflated like a balloon. “No proposal? Ugh, I got all worked up for nothing.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

“You already? We’re running out of time,” Randy urged from the living room.

As soon as Debra came out, the stylists descended upon her, wielding makeup brushes and styling tools with practiced precision.

When one of the designers brought out a custom–made dress, Erica said, “That’s tailored to your measurements. I have to say, Marion’s faste is on point. Guess he gets that from me.”

Randy rolled his eyes. “Yeah, right. You know all your clothes are picked by me. Marion definitely got his fashion sense from me.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. I never asked you to buy me clothes,” Erica retorted. “Every time, it’s you….”

Randy slapped a hand over her mouth. “For God’s sake, just stop.”

Debra watched their exchange with amusement. She suddenly felt that the two were made for each other.

She turned her attention to the burgundy dress. The color was bold, striking, and utterly perfect for her. It reminded her of the first time she’d met Marion when she’d been wearing a burgundy gown.

After an hour of primping and styling, Erica couldn’t help but admire Debra.

The dress hugged Debra’s figure perfectly, accentuated by a silver and black belt adorned with sparkling diamonds. The hem flowed elegantly, exuding a sense of both boldness and grace. The off–shoulder design highlighted her delicate collarbones and neck.

“And here are your high heels,” Erica said, placing them in front of her.

Once slipping on the heels, Debra transformed into a striking, confident woman, commanding attention with her powerful presence.

Erica smacked her lips. “Wow, you look incredible. You’ve got the body and the looks that women dream of. I’m so jealous.”

Debra smiled at her reflection in the minor. “You’re not doing too bad yourself.”

Erica sighed, her shoulders slumping. “Maybe, but every man I’ve met has been worse than the last.”

Debra’s eyes slid to Randy, who was muttering under his breath, “Yeah, because your taste sucks.”

Erica whipped around, her eyes narrowing. “What did you just say?”

Randy quickly changed the subject, herding them all towards the door. “I said the car’s here. Let’s go.”

As they reached the car, Debra raised an eyebrow at Randy. “You’re driving?”

Randy grinned, revving the engine. “Yup, my side gig as Marion’s part–time chauffeur.”

After a short but speedy drive, they arrived at the McKinney Group headquarters.
