Found Again

“This time, I will not allow you to run away from me again.”

I feel my heart pounding hard. Am I hearing it right? I don’t want to assume anything but I also don’t want to play dumb.

I saw Andrew looking at Lance. They don’t utter any words but their eyes are talking.

Lance nodded. “Guys I think the lunch is ready, let’s head to the dining area.” He said while giving people a knowing look.

“Great idea! Let’s go!” Mike said to support Lance’s excuse.

All of them agreed and went ahead to the dining area. They are all acting weird. It was as if they all planned this.

I tried to remove Andrew’s hand from my waist but he just tighten it more.

“I told you, I will not allow you to run away again.” He said huskily.

I stared at him as I was trying to read what is on his mind.

Andrew went closer to me and stared at me with more intensity. I averted his gaze because I was feeling uncomfortable.

“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked without looking at him.

“Holding you and I have no plan to let you go.” He whispered.

I love what I am hearing from Andrew right now. I did my best to forget him… to forget the love I have for him. But in the end, I fail because I still love until now.

I have never loved anyone like this before. My feelings for Jester back then are nothing compared to him.

When I found out that Jester married Rachel I was hurt and I cried a lot but I was able to move forward with my life. I even fell in love with Andrew.

When Andrew got into a relationship with Anne, I feel like I am going to die. Thank God I met Noah and he introduce me to vlog. I was able to move forward but I never fell in love again with anyone. It was as if Andrew took my heart and never gave it back to me.

I tried my best to pull my sanity and get it back. “Can you spare me with your lies?” I said coldly.

Andrew’s lips parted and loosen his hand on me. I took that as a chance to get away from him.

“Don’t you have any decency in you? How dare you act like that in front of my family and our friends especially Anne?!”

“Decency? What did I do wrong?” He asked.

I look at him with annoyance and defiance. “Are you really asking me that?! You are flirting with me even though you are already taken. And what’s worst is that you are flirting with me in front of your girlfriend!”

“Anne is not my girlfriend and never was! You are the only girl I had a relationship with!” He said in a serious voice.

My lips parted. What did he just say? Anne is not her girlfriend and never was? But what happened that night? I know I hear it clearly.

My eyes narrowed. “Liar! I witness it with my own eyes. I was there at that bar when you and Anne announce your relationship with the people there. I even saw you guys kiss.” I stutter at the last part. I feel like suddenly there’s a lump on my throat.

Andrew went to me trying to hold me again but I push his hand.

He stiffened. “I’m sorry that you had to see that. It was needed at that time. You should have confronted me so that I can explain it to you.”

I laugh without humor. “Do you think I will have the strength to confront you when I feel like I was dying that night?!”

“I’m sorry baby. I didn’t know you were there.” He said while still trying to hold me in his arm.

I shook my head. “Why didn’t you do anything? I told you about what I saw that night and yet you did nothing to clarify it.”

“You blocked me, remember?” He said a bit sarcastic.

I feel insulted by his sarcastic remark.

“I don’t want to talk to you. This is going nowhere.” I said nonchalantly.

“Wait, Alli!”

“What?”

“Let’s talk. We have many things that we need to clear out.”

“Then stop being sarcastic!” I hissed.

He lowered his head and nodded. “I’m sorry. Please let’s talk.”

“Why didn’t you do anything to clarify the issue?” I asked him.

“I was about to. I was planning to follow you in the US but Lance told me to give you time and space because that is what you need at that time. I did what he told me to do.” Andrew started his speech.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

My eyes widened a fraction from the shock of his revelation. It was Lance’s fault then! I should note to kill him later.

“But I realized that I can’t stay here and do nothing. I book a flight to the US to explain. Three months is more than enough space.”

“What?” I can’t help but react.

He smile at me but it didn’t reach his eyes. “But I saw how happy you were back then I couldn’t find myself to face you. I feel like if I showed myself to you, the beautiful smile on your face will be gone. And I can’t help but feel scared and jealous with the closeness that you had with that guy Noah.”

I don’t know what to say nor react. I was shocked by all his revelations. But his explanation is missing something.

“Why did you kiss Anne and announce that you guys are a couple?” I asked since that was the main issue.

“I did not kiss Anne, I want to clear that out. It was Anne who kiss me but it was because she thought that was the best option that night.”

“I was drinking at the corner when I saw Anne dancing on the dance floor. Then a group of men went to him and tried to harass her. When I saw that happen, I immediately went to the dance floor to save Anne from those perverted guys. I asked Anne what is happening and if she knows those guys.” He added.

“The guys ask me who I was and my relationship with Anne. Because of fear and panic, Anne told them that I was her boyfriend. Those people didn’t believe Anne that is why Anne kiss me to make them believe that we are a couple. I had no choice but to confirm Anne’s statement to them just to settle the issue faster.”

I nodded because everything he said made sense. It was a cliche move to anyone experiencing harassment in the bar. I can’t believe that I had to suffer this long because of that cliche move.

“Are we clear now baby?” Andrew asked huskily.

I felt a tingly sensation when he called me by our endearment.

“Yes. The issue with Anne is now clear.” I said cooly.

Andrew licked his lips and immediately shifted. “Now that the issue has been clear, then can we talk about our relationship now?”

My brow furrowed. “What do you mean by our relationship? We broke up two years ago.”

His lips settled in a think line before he pursed it. “It takes two to tango. I never agree with the breakup. So technically you are still my girlfriend and we never broke up.”
