Forced Marriage

Liza rolled her eyes when she saw the news she had just seen on the television screen in the VIP room where she is currently being treated.

” You crazy man ” Liza cursed .

Liza turned to one of the women who was a bodyguard sent by Joan to keep her from escaping from this hospital.

” Where is your insane boss ? ” Liza asked curtly to one of the bodyguards who was standing watching Liza ‘s every move .

The bodyguard didn’t answer Liza’s question, the woman who wore all black didn’t care about all the questions or every chatter said by Liza. The four bodyguards were only assigned to focus on observing the client ‘s every move .

“Can’t you all talk?” Liza shouted to the four women.

Liza started to ruffle her hair. Frustrated because she didn’t get any answer, she couldn’t even leave the room. Even her cellphone had been confiscated by them so that Liza couldn’t ask anyone for help.

” Just watch if I leave this room , I will report all of you to my father ” Liza threatened as she pointed at the bodyguards one by one .

” Who do you want to report to Li ? Uncle Liam has agreed to our marriage ” said someone who had just entered the room .

Liza looked cynically at the figure of the man who was in the doorway, seeing Joan’s very happy expression, she could be sure if all of Joan’s rotten plans, including marrying her, went smoothly.

Joan walked over to Liza who was still silent on the treatment bed , Liza ‘s hand was still attached to the IV tube because her condition had not fully recovered .

” Pregnant people are really sensitive , ” Joan whispered as she brought her face closer to Liza ‘s face .

Liza was silent and didn’t say a word, Joan started to get confused because the woman in front of her kept ignoring her.

Now Joan began to take out an envelope that was in the nightstand of the room.

Joan quickly opened the envelope and gave Liza a screenshot of their baby’s ultrasound.

” What ‘s wrong with this baby ? ” Joan asked in a low voice .

Liza looked back at Joan with a gaze that no one could interpret. The woman couldn’t say a word to express her frustration with Joan.

” Why are you silent Li ? ” Joan asked again , the man began to bring the photo closer to Liza ‘s eyes .

” Watch carefully Li , are you going to stick to your stance huh ? ” Joan snapped which made Liza burst into tears .

“Enough bro!!! sob…. sob….” Liza’s scream echoed in the room, the four bodyguards who were still monitoring in the room glanced at Liza and Joan.

Joan turned her gaze towards the four women she ordered ” Come out , I ‘ll call you later !!! ” Joan ordered which the four tough women immediately obeyed .

Joan refocused her attention on Liza. The man was silent for a moment, letting Liza let out all her annoyance.

Liza roughly wiped the tears that ran down her cheeks ” Everything you said was true bro , this baby did not do anything wrong ” said Liza while pointing at her stomach .

Liza shook her head slowly “But I also don’t want you to give birth to a baby from the mistakes you have made”

Joan froze hearing the answer from the woman, the answer Liza said really made her anger just want to explode.

” WHY LI , DO YOU THINK ALL ILLUMINATE BABIES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE BORN INTO THIS WORLD ? Joan asked in a very high tone .

” Li when I decided to take responsibility for you and the baby , that’s when I also intended to turn the baby you consider illegitimate into a halal baby ” Joan continued making Liza ‘s defenses crumble .

Joan didn’t stop pressing Liza, this time she showed a cellphone screen that contained all the popular news that became the number one trend on various google search sites and all other social media. Of course all the news was about Liza’s marriage and her pregnancy.

Liza looked at Joan with a deadly stare, if he wasn’t being given an IV, he might have scratched the man’s face all the way.

” Your career has been ruined Li , are you still joking against this marriage ? ” Joan asked again .

Liza shook her head ” No , I still have Dilan and his family .

Once again Dilan became the Alibi of Liza ‘s rejection . Joan could only exhale harshly , holding back all the anxiety that she had gotten since meeting Liza .

” Sorry Li , it seems I can not handle you . But I will ask Aunt Zea to persuade you . Better prepare yourself because in one week our wedding will be held , even if you refuse no matter how hard ” said Joan with a flat expression .

Zea smiled when she saw Liza who was seen talking to Joan.

Joan waved her hand towards Zea who stopped in the doorway of Liza’s room.

” Hello Auntie , it ‘s been a long time since we met , ” Joan greeted while shaking Zea ‘s hand when the model – shaped woman stood beside her .

Zea smiled showing a row of white teeth ” Congratulations Joan you will soon be a father ” Zea lightly patted Joan on the shoulder .

Joan smiled awkwardly ” Auntie will soon be a grandmother ” Joan kidding .

Zea chuckled as he patted Joan’s shoulder again. Now Zea turned to look at her daughter who had been lowering her head.

Zea lifted Liza’s face to want to look at her. “Li stop crying, you should be happy, dear, soon you will have a baby, right, Joan?”

Joan nodded ” Yes Li you should rejoice not grieve like that ” added Joan who immediately got a cynical look from Liza .

Zea started to wipe the tears that rolled down her son’s cheeks ” It’s okay to cry, poor granddaughter mamah will not be stressed again ” Zea turned to rub Liza’s stomach which still looks flat.

Liza turned to her mother “Mah, Liza doesn’t want to marry Joan” Liza asked in a pleading tone.

Zea shook her head slowly ” I can not honey , you have to obey all of this for the good of us together ” said Zea while stroking Liza ‘s long hair that fell beautifully .

Liza was silent, she turned to look at Joan “bro, please come out first, there’s something important I want to talk to mom about”

Joan responded to Liza with her trademark smile ” Alright I ‘m going out first , Tan ” said goodbye to Joan before leaving the room .

“Yes, Joan, auntie, we will talk for a while because there are still many things that you have to finish at the company”

Joan began to walk out leaving the pair of mother and daughter.

Zea and Liza looked at Joan’s back which had started to disappear from her sight, Zea immediately closed the door of the room so no one would eavesdrop on their conversation.

After closing the door tightly , Zea returned to her daughter who was still lying on the bed .

Plaque….. a slap landed smoothly on Liza’s thin cheek which made the woman wince in pain.

” Are you crazy huh , Joan has clearly taken your future . What are you hoping for now , do you still hope to continue your career as an actress ? ” Zea snapped which made Liza ‘s body tremble with fear .

Liza is used to getting rough treatment from the woman who gave birth to her. Even when she was 8 years old, she already got several bruises and wounds on her body due to the violence that Liam and Zea had done to her.

Liza again shed tears her lips trembled in fear “Ma.. Afin … Lizaa mah…” Liza said stuttering.

Zea ignores the words of her only child , the most important thing for her now is to force Liza to marry Joan in any way .

Zea ‘s patience had run out , now her hands turned to slowly strangle Liza .

” Do you still want to reject it huh , you should know Li what your papa will do with mama if you refuse this matchmaking ” Zea strengthens her choking which makes Liza sick and hard to breathe .

” ENOUGH Aunty ! ” shouted someone who had just entered suddenly .

Zea glanced behind her at the source of the voice. The woman rolled her eyes to see the figure who had just entered the room was her future daughter-in-law, Joan.

Joan walked over to Liza who seemed to be having a hard time breathing even though Zea ‘s grip had left her neck .

Joan held Liza ‘s body which was now in a very weak condition , the woman ‘s breath was panting .

Joan pressed the emergency button in the room, it didn’t take long for a doctor and nurses to start treating Liza.

Joan and Zea began to sit down on the waiting chair in front of the room. Joan looked at her future in-laws with annoyance.

” Are you satisfied that you continue to abuse Liza ? ” Joan raised her voice slightly .

Zea was just silent, ignoring Joan’s question. The woman was silent as she stared straight ahead, ignoring Joan who was sitting beside her.

Without Zea and Liza realizing that since Joan left the two of them in the room, it turns out that at that time Joan went to the CCTV room to see all of Zea’s treatment of Liza. But before that Joan also put a sound-tapping device into Zea’s bag when the woman tapped Joan’s shoulder.

Joan immediately ran a marathon from the CCTV room to Liza’s treatment room, which was quite far away.

The man was really scared to see Liza who was out of breath . He did not know what would have happened to the poor girl if Joan had entered the room late .

Joan rubbed her face angrily , when she started to stand up from her sitting position and started walking back and forth in front of the door .

Joan’s gaze immediately focused on the doctor who had just left the room.

” How doc ? ” Joan asked filled with anxiety .

” The patient ‘s condition is still weak , Mr. Joan has not been able to take him home today ” said the doctor quietly .

Hearing the explanation from the doctor , Joan threw her annoyed look at Zea who was still sitting relaxed without the slightest guilt .

” Can the patient be visited by the doc ? ” Joan asked turning her gaze back .

The doctor smiled and nodded “Yes, as long as you don’t stress the patient too much because it will make his condition worse.”

” Ok doc ” Joan smiled as she left the doctor and Zea who were still silent outside the room .

Joan started to enter the room, she saw Liza was lying with her back to her. The woman just stared blankly out the window.

” Are you okay Li , does it really hurt Li ? ” Joan said as she hugged Liza ‘s body from behind .

Liza is still faithfully silent, her eyes are very empty. Her mind is currently somewhere.

“Don’t worry Li, I’ll protect you from anyone even if he’s the one who gave birth to you. If they dare to touch you even if it’s just a hair, I’ll make them regret for the rest of their life” Joan whispered which Liza could still hear.

Liza woke up from her daydream quickly she turned her body to face Joan.

The woman ‘s face was very swollen plus her neck was red from the hard grip of Zea ‘s fingers .

Joan rubbed Liza’s face very gently, the man wiped every tear that fell down Liza’s cheek.

” bro Joan ” Liza called softly .

” Please take me away from this place , I do not want to see mom or dad ” Liza asked quietly .

Joan looked at the woman very deeply , so her eyes met the beautiful eyes of Liza .

“Don’t worry Li, without you even asking I will take you from here as soon as possible”

Liza smiled sadly at Joan’s words, she believed that Joan could protect her from the torture of her parents. In her eyes, Joan was the only person she could trust, protecting her from any harm.

” I want to marry my broter , I want to give birth to this baby ” Liza started holding her stomach with a very serious facial expression .

Joan rolled her eyes in disbelief with all that the woman said “Are you serious about all that you said Li?”

Liza nodded with a faint smile “Yes, bro, I will entrust my life and the life of my son to you”

Joan couldn’t contain her happiness, her tears just dripped, her body reflexively pulled Liza into her arms.

“Thank you Li, I promise to make you both happy” said Joan gratefully.
