Chapter 901
After setting her phone aside, Flora heard the bathroom door creak open. She turned to see Connor stepping out, steam swirling around him, and his long, athletic legs peeking from beneath a loose bathrobe. Her eyes flickered at the sight... The next morning, Flora didn't rise until nine. Connor had already left, tied up with some work commitments over the past few days. He'd left her a sweet little note reminding her not to skip breakfast. Flora carefully folded the note, tucking it into a drawer before heading downstairs.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Typically, the house was quiet, just Amanda and a few staff around. But today, the living room buzzed with activity. A group of high-society ladies filled the sofas, deep in conversation. Amanda sat in the middle, cool and composed.
Flora paused slightly on the staircase, then continued her descent with her usual elegance.
"Flora, come on down!" Amanda called out warmly, waving her over with an inviting smile.
Flora approached the ladies, greeting them with a polite nod. "Good morning, everyone."
Today, she wore a black down jacket, her hair tied back, and no makeup. Yet, her innate, cool demeanor shone through, making it hard for anyone to overlook her presence.
The ladies were taken aback, having heard Amanda's constant praise of Flora; seeing her now, they agreed she outshined many daughters of prestigious families they knew. They all returned her greeting with courteous smiles.
"Alright, go grab some breakfast. Connor whipped it up early this morning. He made me promise to make sure you ate it all," Amanda said, her eyes gleaming with affection.
"Flora, let's get some grub," Kruz chimed in, seizing his chance to escape. He dreaded these gatherings of high-society women, which always seemed to spell trouble. At only nineteen, they were already nudging him about marriage-terrifying! The ladies exchanged surprised glances.
Connor cooked breakfast for Flora?
Apparently, the rumors were true; Connor was utterly smitten with his fiancée. It was enviable that someone of his stature would personally cook for her.
Their husbands, forget about cooking-they barely had time to share meals.
"Oh, Mrs. Amanda, being your daughter-in-law must be pure bliss," one lady remarked with a hint of
sarcasm. "Sleeping in and having someone cook for her-Conno
treats her even better than his own mom."

Kruz, overhearing, turned back with a grin: "Oh, is your husband not treating you well? That's really too bad."
The lady's face turned a shade darker.
Grabbing the toast from the microwave, Kruz pulled Flora along, making their exit.
"Flora, don't let them get to you. Those gossip mongers are just ridiculous."
Flora shrugged it off, unfazed.
Kruz handed Flora the toast and milk, then headed off to start the car.
Back in the villa, the lady was still stewing.
"Ahem, let's have some tea. Kruz is just a kid; don't take it to heart. I'll have a word with him later," Amanda said lightly. Though not keen on
mingling with these high-socino
ladies, she knew networking was key in their circles.
The lady swallowed her irritation, unable to engage in a spat with a teenager.

"Hey, Lyn, your skin's been looking fantastic lately," another chimed in skillfully steering the conversation to safer waters.
"I've noticed too! Are you using a new skincare routine? Your skin's so smooth, and those fine lines have really softened."
