Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 454

Flora sensed something was off with her mood and nodded, "Yeah." Brianna's eyes flashed with anger when she heard Flora's response.

"Seriously? I didn't go looking for trouble, and here she is, coming right to me! She ruined my cousin's family, and they're still rotting in prison. How can she live so carefree without any guilt?" Brianna's rage boiled over, and she hurled her backpack at Flora from across the table.

Ivan, startled, quickly stepped in front of Flora, catching the backpack with a shocked expression, "Whoa, what are you doing?!"

Everyone else in the room looked equally astonished. They knew Brianna had a bit of a princess temperament, but over time, they had seen her good side. This was the first time they had seen her lose control like this.

"Move!" Brianna screamed, "Do you even know who you're protecting? Didn't I tell you, my cousin's family was destroyed by a wretch? That wretch is Flora!"

The revelation left Ivan and the others stunned, and Flora was taken aback.

"Me? I'm the reason your cousin's family is in prison?" Flora frowned, thinking hard. Brianna... Brimer? The Brimer family from Cedarvale?

She looked up at Brianna, her eyes now sharp, "Are you talking about the Cedarvale Brimer family?"

"So, you admit it!" Brianna roared.

Back when her cousin's family was framed and imprisoned, Brianna had wanted to go after them with a knife, but her parents, uncles, aunts, and grandparents had all stopped her.

She really didn't get it. What were they afraid of? Were they, the Brimer family, scared of some minor family from Cedarvale?

Flora's response left her somewhat speechless. "Well, it's a small world, isn't it?" she thought.

Flora looked at Brianna and calmly said, "They ended up in prison because they deserved it."

"You're still saying that?" Brianna's face turned red with anger. If looks could kill, Flora would have been dead a thousand times over.

Ivan, always the peacemaker, tried to calm things down. "Alright, alright, princess. Just chill for a bit."

"I can't be on the same team as her!" Brianna fumed. "Flora, do you dare to compete with me? If I win, you go back to your alternative medicine department!"

"Not interested," Flora chuckled.

"Scared, are you?"

"You!" Brianna was livid. She turned to Ivan, "Ivan, I can't be in the same team as my enemy. Either she leaves, or I do! You decide!"

"This..." Ivan hesitated.

Brianna had thought Ivan would definitely side with her, making Flora leave. After all, they had been a team for over a year. He wouldn't side with a newcomer, would he?

But she hadn't expected Ivan to actually hesitate. This infuriated her even more, and she felt a wave of hurt.

Flora leaned lazily against the wall, staying silent. Truth be told, she too felt uncomfortable being on the same team as someone from the Brimer family. She had already promised Ivan she'd represent the computer science department in the competition and didn't want to go back on her word. But if Ivan chose Brianna over her, she had nothing to say and would rather enjoy the downtime.

Ivan was in a bind; getting involved in girls' quarrels was a nightmare. He hesitated and then turned to Flora, "Flora, we need to sort this out. Could you please step outside for a moment?" Seeing Flora nod, Ivan then turned to Maddox, "Maddox, could you take Flora out for a bit?"

Maddox quickly escorted Flora out. With her gone, Brianna's anger subsided a bit, but her expression was still sour.

Ivan looked at her helplessly, "Do you really want to drive her away? Don't you want to win against Empire Polytechnic anymore? Calling Flora's computer skills 'phenomenal' isn't an exaggeration. If you drive her away, what happens to our whole team?"
