Chapter 449
Several people trailed behind him.
"Nathaniel, what brings you here?"
Aisha closed the file she was working on and looked cautiously at Nathaniel. He had always been Gregory's most devoted lackey, so his visit likely spelled trouble.
Nathaniel spoke with a smile, "We've all noticed how hard you've been working lately, Gregory. You look so worn out; you must not have had a good night's sleep in ages. I've brought a few top-notch professionals here. They're all graduates from prestigious universities, including two from the University of Maple Grove's Computer Science program. From now on, they'll be working with you, Gregory." Oh, so now he wants to plant his people here? Aisha glanced at the group behind him. They were young, probably fresh out of college.
She responded indifferently, "Thank you for your kindness, Nathaniel, but I don't need any additional help at the moment."
"Is Gregory mistrusting my people?" Nathaniel deliberately frowned. "This isn't just my personal gesture; it represents the will of many shareholders. You are clearly understaffed, Gregory. Why not accept them? Are you looking down on us or the people we recommend?"
He had effectively put Aisha in a tight spot.
"I appreciate the thought, Nathaniel, and that of the shareholders, but I truly don't need more help right now," Aisha maintained her smile. "I've already found sufficient assistance."
"Really?" A hint of skepticism flashed in Nathaniel's eyes; he clearly didn't believe her. How could it be easy to find computer science professionals? They had made sure to find out that Aisha was in dire need of staff. Nathaniel thought, even if Aisha had indeed found someone, they couldn't possibly compare to the people he brought, who not only had rich work experience but were also graduates from prestigious universities, including the University of Maple Grove!
"I wonder who these helpers are that Gregory has found? The individuals I brought, along with a few major shareholders, have outstanding resumes. Forgive my bluntness, but if the people you found are mediocre, it might be better to employ the ones we recommend."
It all comes down to inserting their own people into the mix, doesn't it? A sudden sense of relief washed over Aisha, thankful for having Flora...
If it weren't for Flora bringing Ivan and the others to help her, this would have been a tricky situation. Remembering Ivan saying they would come over today, Aisha felt her confidence surge.
She took a deep breath, looked Nathaniel in the eye, and said slowly, "Would you consider top graduates from the University of Maple Grove's Computer Science program, ranked within the top twenty, as excellent?"NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Nathaniel was momentarily stunned, not understanding why Aisha was bringing this up. Of course, top twenty graduates from the University of Maple Grove's Computer Science program were excellent! They could easily outperform the group he had brought. But what of it? No matter how excellent, they weren't her people!
Wary of falling into a trap, Nathaniel cautiously replied, "Naturally, they are excellent."
Aisha's smile widened. "That settles it then. The assistance I've found comes exactly from the top twenty ranks of the University of Maple Grove's Computer Science program. So, I appreciate the thought, Nathaniel, and from the shareholders, but I won't be needing these individuals."
"Gregory, are you joking?" Nathaniel was almost accusing Aisha of bluffing, as if she was still dreaming. Why would top twenty graduates from the University of Maple Grove's Computer Science program bother joining Gale Corporation?
Aisha smiled lightly, slowly saying, "You should take these individuals back with you, Nathaniel."
Nathaniel's dark eyes narrowed as he said, "Gregory truly has remarkable resources, to be able to invite such talented graduates from the University of Maple Grove's Computer Science program to Gale Corporation. I wonder, where are they now?"
