Chapter 378
“Flora, can we talk for a minute?”
Her voice was barely a whisper.
Flora stared at her, face unreadable.
Odelia felt a wave of panic under that gaze. She took a deep breath and said, “I’m here to apologize about the speech incident. I really need to say sorry…”
“No need, I’m leaving.”
Flora brushed past her shoulder, ready to walk away.
Odelia hurriedly blocked her path, maybe a bit too eagerly, making Flora look down at her with a scrutinizing gaze.
Realizing she might have overreacted, Odelia steadied herself and said, “You didn’t hold a grudge and even got the school administration to cancel my suspension. I’m really grateful… I hope you can accept these cookies as a token of my appreciation…”
Flora’s eyes slowly shifted to the box of cookies in Odelia’s hands.
Her eyelids lowered slightly, a flicker of coldness in her eyes.
She picked one up and sniffed it lightly.
Odelia watched, her heart tightening at the gesture.
“Odelia, you should know, I’ve already let you off once with the speech incident, considering how hard it was for someone from a modest background to get into the University of Maple Grove. I didn’t want to make things difficult for you,” Flora said coolly.
“Yes, which is why I’m even more thankful!”
Odelia felt uneasy, sensing an underlying message in Flora’s words.
Could she have noticed something off about the cookies?
Soon, she brushed off the thought as absurd. The cookies were tampered with, but Flora,
a freshman in medical studies, couldn’t possibly have detected it at first glance.
“Fine then.”
Seeing Odelia showed no sign of regret, Flora didn’t say more. Right in front of Odelia, she took a cookie and ate it.
She didn’t miss the triumphant gleam that flashed in Odelia’s eyes.
When class time rolled around in the afternoon, Flora was still nowhere to be seen.
“Where on earth is Flora? She’s not planning to skip class, is she?” Cynthia whispered to Eilies.
They hadn’t seen Flora since returning to their dorm but hadn’t thought much of it, assuming Flora had something to attend to. But with class starting soon, Flora’s absence became worrisome.
Skipping class was definitely out of character for her!
“The roll call is starting.” The professor stood at the podium, flipping through the attendance list, stopping at ‘Flora‘ and calling out, “Flora!”
Eilies and Cynthia grimaced. Flora was in a league of her own; they couldn’t just answer
for her.
“Where’s Flora?” The professor’s brows furrowed, “Anyone who shares a dorm with Flora, stand up.”
Eilies and Cynthia stood up. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
As they were figuring out how to cover for Flora, a student–looking person rushed in.
“Professor, Flora’s in classroom 207. She’s… she’s in there!! You have to go see for yourself, something might happen!”
After saying this, the person hurried off.
Their vague explanation only heightened everyone’s anxiety, prompting the professor to head to classroom 207 immediately.
Eilies and Cynthia followed, with the rest of the students joining out of curiosity.
Their class was on the fourth floor in room 407, just two flights of stairs away from 207.
The curtains were tightly drawn, obscuring the view inside, but unmistakable sounds that made hearts race continued to escape.
It was the sound of a woman’s uncontrollable gasps.
Everyone there was an adult and understood what those sounds implied.
“Didn’t that person say Flora was in there? It can’t be her doing…”
“What, you’re saying Flora’s the one inside?”
The group of students buzzed with excitement
The national top scorer Flora, caught in such a situation in a classroom?
