Chapter 1207
At the grand gathering, Jonathan gave a casual "Hmm" in response to the crowd's respectful greetings, his sharp, icy gaze briefly landing on Lillian and sending a chill down her spine.
Brandon was also a bit uneasy around Jonathan. The elusive owner behind FUND rarely made appearances, and the organization was run by Jonathan and Reagan. Known for his strict enforcement and no-nonsense methods, Jonathan was someone the major families
of the Martial World feared.
"Jonathan, Flora is definitely a Martialist," Brandon asserted, stepping forward. "Flora injured my daughter. How could an ordinary person cause such harm?"
"Exactly," Zavier chimed in. "My sister gave it her all, yet couldn't land a single strike on Flora. Her speed is way beyond that of an ordinary person. She must be a Martialist." "Jonathan, you need to arrest her now!" Lillian screeched, already picturing Flora's grim fate.
The family heads exchanged glances, wondering if Flora was truly the Martialist, as the Schulers confidently claimed. If she was, now that Jonathan knew, her fate would be dire. Jonathan stayed cool and composed, waiting for the chatter to die down before asking calmly, "Are you finished?"
His poise caught the Schulers off guard.
"Jonathan, send someone to catch Flora now!" Lillian was frantic, baffled by his calmness. Shouldn't he be dispatching someone to grab Flora right away?
"Yes, she should be captured," Jonathan agreed, and Lillian thought she had convinced him, her eyes lighting up with hope.
But then Jonathan raised his hand and commanded, "Take them!"
A team swooped in, pinning down the three Schulers with overwhelming force, forcing them to their knees. The whole room was stunned.
Brandon felt the pain in his knees and looked up at Jonathan in disbelief. "Jonathan, what are you doing?"
Jonathan's deep voice resonated through the room. "Lillian, for attacking a regular person, the punishment is imprisonment and two hundred lashes. But since you intended to kill, make it five hundred."
For Lillian, delicate as she was, two hundred lashes could be fatal; five hundred would be unbearable.
"Jonathan! Flora isn't just a regular person; she's a Martialist!" Lillian protested, her eyes wide with fear, her body trembling as she tried to defend herself.
Ignoring her, Jonathan continued, "Morrison and Zavier, you failed to control your daughter and sister, allowing her to attempt murder and not bringing her to the Enforcement Division for punishment. Instead, you slander others here. Five hundred lashes for you too, and imprisonment until you admit your wrongdoing."
"We're not slandering!" Zavier said, panic creeping into his voice. "Flora is a Martialist!"
"Are you more aware than us?" Jonathan asked, looking down at him. "Or are you questioning FUND's competence?"
"Jonathan, we trust FUND, but Flora is suspicious. We hope you can investigate thoroughly. If she's just a regular person, how could she have injured my daughter so badly?"
Jonathan chuckled. "Have you
considered that maybe your daughter is just too weak? To lose an ordinary person and have her wrist broken-it's embarrassing for the Martial World. Maybe she doesn't need that hand after all.
What do you say?"
Brandon broke into a cold sweat, too scared to speak. He had no doubt Jonathan would follow through.
Lillian never expected things to turn out this way. She was eagerly waiting for Flora's downfall, yet it was her own fate that was grim.

off her hand, she completely broke down. This isn't fair! You haven't even investigated. How do you know Flora isn't the Martialist? Are you protecting her on purpose?"
"Quiet!" Brandon scolded urgently, while Zavier tugged at Lillian, signaling her to stop. No one dared question FUND's decisions.
"Protecting her on purpose?" Jonathan was unapologetic, even chuckling. "Since Miss Schuler insists, let's show you what 'protection' looks like. You won't be needing that hand."
His tone was calm but chillingly ruthless. "Take her away, and chop it off."
At his command, two men dragged Lillian toward the Enforcement Division, her cries falling on deaf ears.
"Brandon, do you disagree?" Jonathan turned to Brandon and Zavier, his eyes narrowing dangerously, daring them to challenge him.
"We wouldn't dare!" Brandon felt like
his heart was being ripped out,
the
barely managing to say the words through clenched teeth. Jonathan had declared Flora was not the Martialist, meaning Lillian was in the wrong. Any decision Jonathan made now was beyond contestation.
Nor did they dare to contest it.
"Since Flora is not the Martialist, the Schuler family's accusation... indeed, brings her into our fold."
His daughter, because of Flora, lost a hand. He would not let Flora off the hook.
Once she entered the Schuler family, she was at their mercy.
Hearing this, Jonathan chuckled, flashing a bright, dazzling smile. "Brandon, looks like you're still dreaming in broad daylight."
