Chapter 794 Calling Me Dad for the First Time
She didn’t say much during the whole process. Most of the time, she listened to them. When she was suddenly asked for advice, she almost couldn’t react. “Lucas’s birth certificate is still in Eoland. Will it affect the procedures?”
“He can adapt to the atmosphere of the kindergarten first. After all, he joins in the middle of the course, we have to let the teacher take care of him alone. As for the materials, you can make up for it later.” Children recruited from our kindergarten came from all over the place, and there was still a big difference between this and ordinary kindergartens. There was not much review of the area, but more inspection of their family conditions and environment.
She patted Lucas on the head. “Let’s go back and discuss it. We should also ask for his opinion.”
The principal immediately agreed, “Okay, no problem. It’s not a small matter.”
After walking around the kindergarten for a while, the principal personally sent them out. It was rare for him to be so polite and amiable, as if he was a father. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
After getting in the car, she looked at the man who was starting the car. After thinking for a moment, she said, “Take me back to
Hub Apartment later. We’ll have dinner at my mother’s place tonight.”
Huston blanked for a moment and subconsciously looked at the time. It was still early, and when he recalled that she had indeed not returned for some time, he agreed readily.
After driving for nearly 40 minutes, the car stopped at the ground floor of Hub Apartment. He carried Lucas out of the back seat. Lucas was a little sleepy on the way, but he rubbed his eyes and said almost instinctively, “Thank you, Dad.”
With just these three words, he successfully made him unable to move. At first, he froze, and then all the blood in his body rushed to the top of his head. He could almost hear the sound of blood vessels running wildly in his body.
She was in a daze, and so was she. She had forgotten all her reactions and just stared blankly at the face in front of her that was very similar to hers.
Obviously, Lucas hadn’t figured out what he was talking about. He was just rubbing his eyes wearily, and Evelyn was stunned by his words.
It took a long time for Huston to come back to his senses. He was so excited that he even lost his composure. “What… what did you call me just now?”
His voice was trembling that he couldn’t say a word. But he used all his strength to ask this short sentence.
Lucas recalled what he had just said and realized what he had called him. He immediately became a little cautious and looked at Evelyn for help.
As a mother, she immediately understood. She took the child from his head and whispered, “Don’t scare Lucas.”
Huston closed his eyes, afraid that he would scare the child if he was too emotional. He raised his head and pressed down on his temples. The throbbing of his fingertips reminded him of how excited he was.
He didn’t hear it wrong. Lucas had just called him “Dad” and blurted it out before he realized it. So could he think that the child had already recognized him in his heart?
Huston dared not make such a hypothesis, otherwise, he would go crazy with joy.
He never asked Lucas to call him dad. He knew that he owed them too much. He was ready to fight a long–term battle. He believed that one day the child would recognize him, but he didn’t expect that this day would come so soon and so suddenly.
Looking at the blushing man, she bit her lip and said, “I go up with Lucas.”
“Mm,” he answered in a deep voice. His heart was beating strongly, but he tried his best to suppress it. “I’ll pick you up tonight.”
“Call me later. I’m going upstairs.”
“Okay.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Lucas, who had been hiding behind her, suddenly tilted her body, poked out half of her head, and quickly said, “Goodbye, Dad!”
The next second, the soft little body disappeared into the corridor, leaving only the sound of footsteps upstairs.
