Chapter 7 Quite Sensitive

Evelyn threw her phone away at the last moment.

“Why are you here, Evelyn?” Jerry’s eyes were filled with gloom. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Maura stepped out of the car, appearing surprised at first, but quickly adopted a smug expression.

To rub salt in the wound, Maura pulled down her collar, showing off her marks from earlier.

Ignoring her, Evelyn slapped Jerry hard across the face.

“That’s for my father!”

As Jerry stood in a daze, she slapped him again.

“That was for me!“.

“What the fuck! Are you out of your mind?!” He was in shock.

“YOU are out of your mind!” Evelyn glared at him, her eyes red with anger. “All your feelings were fake when my father was being investigated, weren’t they? And you think I’ll beg to sleep with you? Not in your dreams! I don’t want herpes!”

Maura’s face darkened upon hearing this. She strutted over in her high heels, “Are you insulting me, bitch?”

“Oh, you had to ask?” She coldly curled her lips. “Do I have to call you a slut to your face?”

“You!” Maura glared at her. She cast a glance at Jerry, only to realize that he was seething with anger but showed no intention of defending her.

In a fit of rage, Maura slapped Evelyn across the face, causing blood to trickle from the corner of Evelyn’s mouth.

Jerry was caught off guard, not expecting Maura to be violent.

“Evelyn, you’ve gone too far!” Maura cried.

“I’ve gone too far?” Evelyn asked. “You are the homewrecker! Mark my words, what goes around, comes around!”

If Jerry could cheat once, he could cheat again. Maura wouldn’t be his last lover.

Evelyn picked up her phone and left.

Gathering her belongings and important documents from Hill Villa, Evelyn departed without looking back.

If striking a deal with Huston meant stepping into a beautiful trap, at least she was leaving behind a dreadful nightmare.

No matter what was ahead of her, she would never return to this place again.

Eight in the evening, Evelyn arrived at the gate of Royal Villa, even more grand and affluent than Hill Villa.

With its own gardens and swimming pools, the villa occupied the entire mountainside. Evelyn couldn’t fathom the vastness.

It was a fitting home for Huston, a ruthless business tycoon.

Walking from the gate to the front door of the villa, she could feel panic creeping in. She stood to take a few deep breaths.

The door suddenly swung open. Huston, still wearing the same shirt as earlier, asked impatiently, “What’re you doing standing here?”

Snapping back to reality, Evelyn stepped inside. The layout of the house was surprisingly rather simple, not very extravagant.

She recognized the paintings adorning the walls, creations by a prominent artist, worth millions at auction. Three of these paintings hung on the wall, their collective value probably surpassing that of the entire Hill Villa.

“Do you cook?” Huston suddenly asked out of the blue.

Evelyn nodded.

Having spent four years studying abroad alone, she always cooked for herself. And during her one– year stint as a housewife, her cooking skills improved.

“Prepare something for dinner, then.”

Evelyn blinked in disbelief. “What? Me?”

“Mhm.”

Huston found it easy to know what Evelyn was thinking; she wore her emotions on her sleeve.

He placed his glass of water down and approached her, leaning on the table with a slight bend.

“What? You think I brought you here just to sleep with you? With your inexperience in bed, wouldn’t it make sense if you do something else for me too?”

Evelyn’s ears turned bright red.

“I’m a picky man. You must familiarize yourself with my preferences and cater to my needs,” Huston straightened up. “Understood?”

What else could she say? She did come here in exchange for his support.

Watching Huston ascend the stairs, Evelyn turned around and entered the kitchen. The fridge was filled with fresh ingredients.

She pan–fried a juicy steak and steamed a tender basa fish, complemented by a side of fresh asparagus. Lastly she made a quick dessert to complete the meal.

The aroma wafted through the dining room as Huston came back down stairs. He stood silent by the doorway and watched Evelyn, illuminated by the warm glow, carefully picking up some fish with a spoon and placing it in her mouth.

A satisfied smile graced her face as she savored the flavors, giving a peek of her pearly white teeth.

She had gathered her hair into a bun, and a few strands cascaded gracefully down her fair neck.

Slowly approaching her, Huston reached out and grazed the back of her neck, fingertips gently caressing her skin.

-Evelyn jumped slightly. She stammered, “A–Are you hungry? Shall we eat now?”

He remained silent, his breath tickling her skin as he watched her delicate ears turn red. Leaning closer, he whispered, “You’re quite sensitive, huh…?”
