Chapter 103 I Have Fallen in Love With Her
Charlie was the first to react. He rushed to the edge of the railing and thought that he would see a terrible scene, but he didn’t expect to see a huge orange cushion.
He observed firefighters dressed in their uniforms rushing back and forth on the ground. He also saw a white stretcher and a police car parked next to it.
Suddenly, Charlie felt that his strength was drained from his body. He collapsed onto the ground and leaned against the dusty guardrail behind him. He muttered, “She’s fine… She’s
fine…”
Charlie looked up at Huston and was surprised to meet his
bloodshot eyes.
Charlie had never seen Huston like this before, so he was stunned, muttering, “President Lloyd…”
Huston’s cheeks moved slightly as if he was gritting his teeth. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
He asked, “Where is she?”
Charlie heaved a sigh of relief and replied, “The police and
firefighters are here. There’s an air cushion down there. Evelyn
is fine.”
After Charlie said that, Huston turned around and left without
stopping for a second.
Huston didn’t even look downstairs, as if trying to escape from reality. Even though he knew that she was fine, he found it
hard to believe.
Evelyn fell from the top. Even with an air cushion, the impact and gravity were still very strong. The moment she fell, she fell into a coma and was sent to the Lane’s Hospital.
When Huston arrived at the hospital, she had already been pushed into the emergency room.
Kevin, as well as all the experts in the internal medicine department, were gathered in the operating room.
Staring at the red light on the wall that symbolized emergency treatment, Huston felt even more depressed.
He took out a cigarette and lit it up. Smoke swirled around him, and his face was cold. None of the medical staff passing by dared to stop him.
The goin
Everyone knew that Mr. Lloyd was a friend of Dean Lane, and the patient who was pushed in just now was a young woman. She must have a close relationship with him.
At a time like this, no one would provoke him.
However, Huston lowered his eyes. And the hand that kept putting the cigarette into his mouth trembled slightly. It seemed that he was extremely depressed.
His gaze fell on a random spot and he was lost in thought, recalling the scene on the rooftop just now.
He had lived for 32 years. Since his parents divorced when he was 16 years old, he had not shed a single tear for anyone. No matter how difficult and painful it was, he had survived alone without shedding tears.
But as he witnessed her falling from the building today, tears welled up in his eyes.
If something really happened to her, what would he do?
Huston asked himself, but couldn’t come up with an answer.
He only knew that he would never let go of the man who kidnapped her, and he would make that man regret coming to this world.
Such an impulse came from his feelings for the woman who
was lying in the emergency room.
The fierce, passionate, and uncontrollable feelings.
It was clear that he was solely focused on her physical
appearance before, but now he was also intrigued by her personality.
It was only at this moment that he realized that he had grown
feelings for her beyond entanglement.
His thin lips slightly parted as he deeply took a drag on his
cigarette.
The pungent air stimulated his nose, but it could help him
maintain a sober and rational mind.
An hour later, the door of the emergency room was pushed open again. Kevin took off his mask and walked over to Huston, saying, “She’s fine. She had a slight concussion and was overly frightened. She was hospitalized. Although it’s not
serious, it’s inconvenient for her to stay at home.”
The man nodded. Then he put out his cigarette by pressing it against the lid of a nearby trash can and threw it away.
Kevin looked around at the smoke and sighed silently. He said,
“No matter what, this is the hospital. Please go outside if you
want to smoke
The man didn’t answer and just asked, “Is she awake?”
“Not yet. Why don’t you go in and take a look?” Kevin turned
his body sideways and made way for him.
Huston stood still and looked over as if he could see the
person lying on the bed through the door.
