Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 2328

Chapter 2328

Ten minutes later, Estelle and Jonathan arrived at Carson's villa. It wasn't just the two of them-Magdalen, Morrison, and Josiah were there too. What had been a quiet evening quickly buzzed to life again.

Estelle and Magdalen high-fived over their seamless coordination, with Magdalen lavishing praise on Marina for thoughtfully preparing late-night snacks for everyone.

Morrison and Jonathan exchanged a look, a kind of "sorrow" only men could understand twinkling in their eyes.

Carson laughed, "You all should thank me; I went through a lot of trouble to get all this stuff!"

Josiah chimed in with a laugh, "My brother said he's not coming because Kya fell asleep, but he wants ten scallops and a lobster to take back to him later."

"And what about your Goddess Amiee?" Carson asked.

"She's out with her team; I'll just take a portion back for her," Josiah replied, chuckling.

Carson facepalmed, "Looks like I'll be grilling till sunrise!"

Laughter filled the air as everyone gathered around, the feast and drinks ready, marking the start of the late-night feast.

Charlie had just put Kya to sleep and was waiting in the upstairs lounge for Emily to finish her shower. Taking her hand as she came out, he asked softly, "What was the deal with Susanna today?"

After Magdalen took Kya from his arms, she suddenly started targeting Susanna. Could it have something to do with Kya?

While bathing Kya tonight, he had carefully checked her over but hadn't found any bruises.

If Susanna dared to hurt his daughter, he wouldn't care whose girlfriend she was!

Emily frowned, "I don't know what happened."

She chuckled, "Anyway, Magdalen has already vented for us, so let's leave it at that!"

Charlie pulled her into his embrace, gently massaging her head, his handsome face cooling slightly, "Stay away from that Susanna, and if she ever troubles you, come straight to me!"

Emily looked up and smiled, "I'm not a child who needs to tattle."

Charlie's gaze deepened, "You're too soft-hearted, too easy for people to bully."

Emily replied, "I initially thought she was Andrew's girlfriend, that we could all be friends."

"Andrew doesn't like her. Their engagement was arranged by their families," Charlie explained.

"Does Andrew really have someone else on the side?" Emily asked.

"Yes!" Charlie nodded. "Seems like it's a dance instructor. Andrew's really fallen for this girl and wants to be with her, but her family's ordinary background won't fly with the

Emily nodded in understanding, suddenly getting why Andrew and Susanna seemed so distant with each other.

And suddenly, Susanna's disdain for her made sense.

And after finding out Emily came from an ordinary background too, Susanna redirected that resentment towards her.

Thinking about it, it was ridiculous—not loving Andrew yet clinging to him, then getting distracted by Carson.

Just as Magdalen said, always thinking the grass is greener on the other side.

But what about the woman Andrew loves, caught in this tricky situation?

Hugging Charlie, Emily felt a wave of relief and gratitude in her clear eyes and smiled, "I guess I'm pretty lucky then!" The James family, though they held some views on social standing, loved their son more and were more open-minded! Charlie looked down at her with a warm smile, "You should feel lucky, meeting someone like me."

Emily nestled closer, whispering, "If I hadn't met you, I wouldn't have these worries!"

The man immediately frowned, pinching her chin, "Worries?"

Grasping his hand, Emily looked up appeasingly, "Of course, the happy moments far outweigh those worries!"
