Chapter 2294

Chapter 2294

Old Mr. Quintin hung up the phone and turned to ask his butler, "Are we having ravioli tonight?”

The butler, somewhat surprised, responded, "You want ravioli, sir?"

It was well known that Old Mr. Quintin wasn't particularly fond of it.

"Tell the kitchen we'll have ravioli tonight, make extra. And throw in a few lucky ones!" Old Mr. Quintin instructed.

The butler was puzzled, "Lucky ones, sir?"

Old Mr. Quintin paused, realizing he had forgotten to ask Old Mr. Jarvis about that detail.

He waved it off, "Never mind then, just make it special!"

The butler went to pass on the message to the kitchen.

Evelyn came in with a cup of tea, "Grandpa seems happy today!"

Old Mr. Quintin smiled, "I can't stand his boasting, but I can't help but listen. It's time Old Mr. Jarvis had something to cheer him up. It's been years since he had company for the holidays."

"Grandpa and Old Mr. Jarvis are really close!" Evelyn remarked with a smile.

Old Mr. Quintin nodded, “Decades of friendship!"

Evelyn's eyes sparkled with curiosity, "I heard you asking about Gabriel's girlfriend on the phone. He's bringing her home for the holidays?"

"That Sylvia!" Old Mr. Quintin frowned, "Gab actually brought her home."

Evelyn was also surprised, "So, Gabriel and Sylvia are serious now?"

"It seems so," Old Mr. Quintin admitted.

Evelyn looked down, disappointed.

Old Mr. Quintin chuckled, "Have you taken a liking to Gab?"

Evelyn immediately shook her head, "No, I just think Sylvia seems a bit complicated. I'm worried Old Mr. Jarvis might not see through her if she's playing games."

Old Mr. Quintin reassured her, "Old Mr. Jarvis isn't easily fooled, and neither is Gab."

He looked at Evelyn, smiling gently, "I was too hasty, wanting to match you and Gab right after you. Don't worry, you're young. You'll find someone right for you in time."

Evelyn blushed with embarrassment, "Grandpa, I didn't mean it that way. I never really thought about marrying Gabriel."

"Let's not talk about it anymore. I'll call your mom later; if she answers, you can talk to her," Old Mr. Quintin suggested.

Evelyn forced a cheerful expression, "I hope mom comes back soon!"

Gabriel thought to himself that even if Sylvia hung the couplets on the roof, his grandfather would praise her creativity.

Sylvia examined a paper cutout, “This looks like it's supposed to be a 'Spring' symbol. Where should we hang it?" "Anywhere is fine!" Gabriel took it to hang on the window.

“We can't just put it anywhere." Sylvia took it back, her eyes twinkling, “I'll go see how Estelle is doing it."

Saying so, she walked across the courtyard towards Sunrise Villa.

Upon arriving, Sylvia saw Estelle seated under the porch, directing Jonathan on where to hang the couplets, "A bit lower!"
