Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan)

Chapter 2257

Chapter 2257

Estelle eyed Old Mr. Jarvis with concern. "I noticed you were coughing during our video call yesterday. Have you taken any medication?" "It's just a chill I caught. Dr. Green checked me out; it's nothing serious," Old Mr. Jarvis chuckled. "So, your friend's wedding is over?" "Yes, and your gift was very much appreciated. My friend sends his thanks through me," Estelle replied with a smile.

"No need for formalities between us," Old Mr. Jarvis laughed before turning to Jonathan. "You're here early this year too, trying to keep Estelle company, I presume?"

Jonathan smiled warmly. "Not really. The end of the year is always packed with social obligations. Coming back early gives me a chance to enjoy some peace and quiet. So, it's not just for Estelle; I'm benefiting from her company too.”

Old Mr. Jarvis's smile grew deeper, nodding in approval. "Good, good!"

Gabriel and Jonathan were walking side by side when Gabriel suddenly said, "I've always wondered how you managed to win over Estelle, and now it seems I have my answer."

Jonathan's expression remained calm. "I'm just being honest."Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

"I believe you!" Gabriel nodded.

Jonathan smirked. "How do you find staying at home?"

Gabriel replied, "Honestly, it's boring. Each morning I wake up feeling the urge to return to Tripe."

Jonathan spoke softly, "Grandpa and Dad have always wanted Ella to take over the Jarvis family business, but her heart's not in it. The Jarvis family will need you eventually. The situation in Tripe is stable now, and both Ella and I hope you can come back."

"I understand where Estelle is coming from," Gabriel said.

Being astute individuals, Jonathan didn't press further and followed into the house.

In the evening, the family gathered for a reunion dinner.

After dinner, Old Mr. Jarvis asked Estelle if there were any videos from her friend's wedding to show him.

Estelle then showed Old Mr. Jarvis videos of Josiah's wedding procession, the ceremony, and the fireworks and drone show that followed, all of which she found from group shares.

Old Mr. Jarvis watched with a beaming smile, thoroughly enjoying the youth and energy on display. "Youth is a wonderful thing."

With a myriad of ideas and impressive vitality!

After Old Mr. Jarvis finished watching, Estelle fetched a chess set. “Let me keep you company with a game of chess!”

"Estelle, you're always so considerate. Not like your brother, who I have to pull by the ear to play a game!" Old Mr. Jarvis grumbled.

Gabriel chuckled from the side. "That's why not only do you look forward to Estelle's return, but I do too!"

Old Mr. Jarvis turned to Estelle, pretending to be offended. "You hear what he's saying!"

As Estelle set up the chessboard, she calmly responded, "Grandpa, you should see it this way: there's nobody in the world who can make my brother do something he doesn't want to, except you. When you ask him to play chess, he obeys. That shows your authority is unmatched worldwide!"

Old Mr. Jarvis burst into laughter, nodding in agreement. "You do have a point!"

Gabriel looked at Jonathan. "Estelle is becoming more and more like you!"

Jonathan smirked. "And I'm becoming more like her."

Gabriel merely smiled in response.

While Estelle engaged Old Mr. Jarvis in a chess game, Gabriel and Jonathan stepped out into the yard for a chat.

Jonathan was trying to quit smoking, so Gabriel, after taking a couple of puffs himself, stamped out his cigarette. They began discussing the situation in Citadel.

Having been under Triceratops's control for years, Citadel had deteriorated significantly. Neither the Mystoria Federation nor Silver Valley was keen on taking over.

However, leaving it unattended could lead to the resurgence of a force like Triceratops or a second Raiden!

To prevent history from repeating

itself, Jonathan and Gabriel, albeit

reluctantly, knew they had to

intervene. Thankfully, their combined

efforts had nearly eradicated Triceratops's remaining forces.

Now, the challenge was to thoroughly cleanse Citadel.

Gabriel had been the one contending with Triceratops all along, entangled with various forces, such as a major arms dealer within Citadel's Bright District who had secret dealings with Silver Valley. Now, as they aimed to purge Citadel, this arms dealer would surely resist aligning with either Silver Valley of the Mystoria Federation.

This was a matter only Gabriel could resolve, another reason he couldn't step back just yet.
