It has been a blissful week for both Devlin and Amber. She returned to work the next day with no issues. She has been busy doing her routine paperwork plus attending some meetings. Now, her bodyguards are accompanying her wherever she goes. It was Devlin’s order. And it was not until Friday that the news broke out about Devlin and her.

She was on her way to the car after a meeting with a client when some reporters suddenly appeared in front of her.

“Ms. Adams, could you please confirm about the budding romance between you and Mr. Wesley?” Said the first reporter who came into her view.

“Ms. Adams or should I say Mrs. Wesley, I have a report that you married Mr. Wesley five years ago. How true is that?” Asked another reporter. She was walking fast so she could get away from all these reporters. She felt like a deja vu. It happened also five years ago when reporters flocked her way just to get a scoop between her and Devlin.

She was glad that she was surrounded by her bodyguards. She immediately got inside the car without trouble. Once inside, her phone rang immediately.

“Babe, how are you? The driver just informed me that you have been hounded by those reporters.” Devlin’s concerned voice calmed her down. She was slightly shaking. She doesn’t want to be bothered by those reporters who would not stop at nothing just to get their piece of news.

“I am fine. I am glad the bodyguards are with me. They were able to ward them off. I am now in the car. Where are you?” She checked her watch and it was just 4 pm.

“I am still here in my office. What about you? Are you still going back to your company?” Amber shook her head. She is done for the day.

“No, I will go home. I don’t think it is good to stay out, especially now that those reporters already found something about us.” Her worried voice did not escape his notice. He took a deep sigh.

“Don’t worry about them. I will take care of that. Just stay in the house.” He already had something in his head. He wanted to do it before but he wanted Amber to adjust to their life together. Especially now that she will be opened to scrutiny as being the wife of a famous businessman in the country.

Amber calmed down after what Devlin told her. She decided to stay in their house. She took a short nap after taking a bath. By the time she woke up, she decided to bake a cake. It was just past 5 pm. She then watched a movie while waiting for Devlin. The cake was done but Devlin wasn’t home yet.

She did not realize that she fell asleep on the couch while waiting for him. When she woke up, it was already 8 pm. She asked one of the maids she saw cleaning in the living room. She learned that Devlin had not arrived yet.

She checked her phone only to see several calls and messages from her friends. She was wondering what’s going on. She got scared for a while, thinking about Devlin.

When she opened her phone, there were just around three missed calls from Devlin. Then, she checked her inbox only to see a video. She immediately opened it and she saw Devlin making an announcement. The video was just sent to her half an hour ago.

“I am here to make a special announcement.” Devlin paused and Amber saw all the flashes from the cameras. Everyone was very quiet waiting for what he was about to say next.

“It has come to my attention that some reporters just did an ambush interview on Ms. Amber Adams today. So, to settle everything once and for all… Yes, Ms. Amber Adams or should I say Mrs. Amber Wesley is my wife. I am asking everyone to please stop harassing her or I will be forced to file a case against any of you. I don’t want to drag my wife into any of these.” He paused, looking tired but continued.

“I hope you all understand. I am not entertaining any questions regarding my personal life. Thank you so much.” After he said that, everyone followed him but did not dare ask questions. He was surrounded by several bodyguards.

Amber was teary-eyed after she watched the video. She could not believe that Devlin made that announcement. She was overwhelmed with emotions. It is not easy to be a billionaire’s wife, especially Devlin’s wife.

“Hey babe, why are you crying?” She did not notice that Devlin had come home. She immediately stood up to hug him.

“What’s going on?” He got alarmed thinking that someone may have threatened or harassed her.

“Is everything fine?” Amber cried more. This is the first time after they have made up that she really cried hard. Her shoulders were even shaking.

She heard Devlin ordered a glass of water for her. He made her sit down on the couch.

“Babe, what’s going on? Did someone threaten you?” She shook her head. She could not stop herself from crying. It must be from years of keeping all her emotions to herself. She thought that her last serious conversation with Devlin was already overwhelming for her. But what Devlin did tonight just opened up all the emotions that she suppressed for years.

Devlin just hugged her until she calmed down. His worried look is still showing on his face.

“Nothing is wrong. I just saw you making that announcement about us. And warning those reporters.” She was laughing but crying at the same time.

“Babe, I did it for you. For us. It is about time that I should shout to the world that you are my wife. Besides, that should stop them from bothering you from now on.”

“I don’t understand why you are crying and laughing at the same time. Could it be that you are pregnant, babe?” Amber hit Devlin on his chest. How can he think of that! They just got back together a few days ago.

“That’s not it. I am just too happy. Thank you, babe.” She said and hugged Devlin again. She is getting a lot emotional these days.

“Babe, I have not eaten dinner yet. Shall we go to the kitchen now? Or do you want to skip dinner altogether and let’s go to my dessert?” Devlin suggested. Of course, Amber knew too well that he was referring to their nightly routine before finally going to sleep.

“What are you talking about? I am hungry. And I baked a chocolate cake for dessert.” She arched her eyebrow at him and exaggeratedly swung her hips while striding towards the kitchen.

‘Such a great tease.’ Devlin murmured to himself. He followed her to the kitchen. Dinner was great as usual. They were just talking about their day. It was mostly about business. Dessert was served with the delicious looking chocolate cake that Amber baked. Devlin loved it that he even brought the remaining cake to their bedroom.

“Why do you have to bring that? No one is going to touch that. I baked three chocolate cakes. There is enough for everyone in the house.” She was smiling brightly at her husband who looks like a kid right now.

“Babe, I want to keep this for myself.” He put it inside the fridge while Amber was only laughing at his childishness. She loves this side of him, playful and carefree.

“I can bake other flavors for you. Just tell me what your preference is.” Amber offered and that made him smile sexily.

“Well, there is a particular flavor that I want.” Amber was waiting for him to say the flavor but he didn’t say anything at all. Instead, he carried her bridal style and immediately deposited her to their bed.

“Now, this is the flavor that I have been craving for.” Whatever Amber had to say was drowned with her moans right after Devlin hungrily sucked her soft mound.

“You are so delicious, babe. I just can’t get enough of you.” He looked at her face whose lustful eyes made him all the more hot.

“God… stop looking at me like that, babe. And biting your lips like that. I may have lost it before I could even start exploring you.” He heard her only giggling.

“This is torture.” He went to kiss her deeply and explore every inch of her. Her moans and screams were music to his ears. He didn’t stop until he was too exhausted himself to even move a muscle.

They went to sleep exhausted but content with each other. He wished that they could be this happy every single moment of their lives.
