Chapter 254 Let Me Love You
A stream of tears flowed from her eyes. Norah closed her eyes and said in a trembling voice, "Thank
you!"
She thanked him for his straightforwardness and agreement.
"But I still have something to say." Shawn continued, "You're right. All these years, it has always been
you loving me, sacrificing for me, and I have selfishly enjoyed everything you've given me."
"So this time, let me be the one to pursue you. Let me love you, okay?"
The reason why he agreed to break up was that he wanted to give their relationship a new positioning
and a fresh start.
From now on, he would be the one to love.
He wanted to make up for all those years when she loved him.
Tears ran down Norah's face. Her lips were trembling, and she was unable to say a word.
Shawn turned her around and gently wiped away her tears, saying, "I know I'm not a righteous
gentleman, and now I'm even a bit despicable. Norah, if you agree, I will agree to break up."
"But if you don't agree, I will never agree to break up."
"I agree because I want to give you more time to digest our relationship. But Norah, you have to
understand one thing. No matter what, I will absolutely not let you leave me."
"Shawn." Norah cried out, accusingly, "You can't be so domineering."
He smiled bitterly. "There's nothing I can do about it. I am just so domineering, especially towards you."
He would never let go of her in this lifetime.
"So, do you agree? If you agree, I will let you go." Shawn remained domineering.
Norah neither shook her head nor nodded.
Shawn answered himself, "Then I'll take it as you agreed."
When Norah returned home, Vivian was coming out with a suitcase.
"Vivian, where are you going?"
"Urgent business trip."
"Do you want me to send you?" Norah asked.
Vivian shook her head. "No need, someone sent by Tammy will pick me up."
"Then take care."
"Okay, don't worry about me."
Work was tiring, and Norah's body hadn't fully recovered yet.
After taking a shower, Norah went to sleep.
Early the next morning, just as she got up, the doorbell rang.
Norah wondered who would come to her so early.
Opening the door, she saw a middle-aged woman in her forties, well-maintained, standing outside. She
looked at Norah with a smile. "Are you Miss Chase?"
"Yes, I am. Who are you?"
The woman smiled and introduced herself, "I am your neighbor, and also the nutritionist specially hired
by Mr. Lawson for you. From now on, I will be responsible for your three meals a day."
Norah was stunned. It took her a while to react. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"Did Shawn ask you to come?"
"Yes, Mr. Lawson specifically hired me to serve you."
The woman continued to explain, "Don't worry. Mr. Lawson instructed me not to disturb you. I just need
to prepare and deliver your meals three times a day. If you work at the hospital, I will personally deliver
the meals to the hospital."
"This is your breakfast for today. Try it and let me know if it suits your taste. There's my phone number
inside."
Even after closing the door and looking at the beautifully packaged breakfast on the table, Norah was
still in a daze.
When did Shawn do all these things?
Besides, were nutritionists nowadays so high-end?
It was like a personal service.
She unlocked her phone and immediately called Shawn.
She made three consecutive calls, but no one answered.
Norah then called Anthony, and Anthony quickly answered.
"Miss Chase, what can I do for you?"
"I'm trying to reach Shawn. I called him several times, but no one answered."
"Mr. Lawson is busy at the moment. It's a bit inconvenient. Whatever you have to say to him, you can
tell me."
Only then did Norah say, "It's about my new neighbor next door. She said she's a nutritionist that you
hired for me. Is that true?"
"Yes, Miss Chase, that is a senior nutritionist personally selected by Mr. Lawson after careful screening
and assessment."
"When did I say I wanted to hire a nutritionist?"
"Dr. Gomez checked your pulse last time and said that your body was a bit weak and needed proper
nourishment. Mr. Lawson felt concerned, so he asked me to arrange it for you."
"What about the neighbor? I remember someone living next door. How did you manage to get that
house?"
Anthony chuckled and continued, "Miss Chase, this matter is even easier to resolve. Mr. Lawson has
bought that house."
"What did you say?" Norah felt her breath hitch.
No matter what, it was a house, but he bought it just like that.
Seeing her too shocked, Anthony thought he should be more careful.
As for the other two apartments on that floor that Mr. Lawson had also bought, he thought it would be
better for Mr. Lawson to personally explain. He wouldn't meddle.
"Then please tell Shawn that I can take care of myself and don't need a nutritionist."
"I'm sorry, Miss Chase. I'm afraid I can't deliver that message," Anthony said.
Norah was speechless.
Anthony was really speaking in circles now.
Didn't he just say that if there was something to tell him, he would pass it on to Shawn?
In just a few minutes, he changed his mind.
"Miss Chase, please don't misunderstand. It's not that I won't deliver the message. It's just that Mr.
Lawson is currently sleeping in the hospital bed. His body is very weak, and I don't want to disturb him."
Anthony was also a cunning person. He didn't deliberately mention that Shawn was sick, but
emphasized the words "hospital bed."
He pronounced the words so heavily and clearly. It would be strange if Norah couldn't hear them.
"What happened to him?"
Norah couldn't resist and asked.
Wasn't he fine when he left yesterday?
"I'm sorry, Miss Chase. Mr. Lawson doesn't want me to tell you about this. It would be better for you to
come and see for yourself."
Norah was speechless.
She felt that Anthony had become more and more cunning recently, probably because he had been
around Shawn for too long.
Before hanging up, Anthony voluntarily said, "Mr. Lawson is in the hospital where you work, in the VIP
ward on the seventh floor."
In the morning, after finishing her urgent work, Dora nudged Norah. "Hey, what are you thinking about?
Did you lose your soul?"
Norah shook her head. "Nothing."
"I've been busy these past few days, and your complexion doesn't look good, so I didn't ask. How are
you and your boyfriend? Did you reconcile?"
"No!"
Yesterday, they officially broke up.
Since they had broken up, how could they reconcile?
"Then why has he been so attentive these days, sending food and drinks to our department? Oh, by
the way, I came to the hospital last night for something, and it seemed like I saw him being admitted."
"But, I don't really recognize his face. I only remember his outline, so I might have mistaken him."
"When did it happen? Why did he get admitted?" Norah finally became anxious.
"It was around ten o'clock, and he came in a hurry. I don't know why, but it seemed like..." He was badly
injured.
Dora's words weren't finished yet when Norah gave an instruction, "Cover my shift for a while later."
Then, she disappeared like the wind.
Dora curled her lips into a faint smile. It seemed that Norah still cared.
Norah quickly went to the seventh floor and asked the front desk to find out which ward he was in.
Walking briskly towards his ward, she raised her hand to knock on the door but then stopped.
They had broken up.
What was she doing here?
In the end, no matter how he was now, she had no right to care or worry.
Lowering her hand that was about to knock, Norah turned around and was about to leave.
Suddenly, Anthony came out from inside, and he raised his voice deliberately. "Miss Chase, you're
here. Why are you standing at the door? Come in and have a seat."
Norah was speechless.
She felt that Anthony was doing it on purpose.
The next moment, Shawn's voice also sounded, "Norah, did you come here specifically to see me?"
