Chapter 225 You Look Like Someone, Norah
James hastily interrupted her, "Says who?"
"Don't you?" Dora asked, puzzled, "Then why do you so care about Norah?"
Frowning, James found a very lame excuse, "Because a friend of mine wants to know."
"I see," said Dora.
"So, do you know who her boyfriend is?"
Dora shook her head instantly. "No. Norah hasn't let us meet yet. However, I met him once when he
came to the hospital to meet Norah. He was quite handsome and classy, and was in good shape. Dean
Broser, I'm afraid that your friend can hardly compete with him."
James did not know how to respond at once.
He just wanted to ask Dora for some information, but didn't expect her to do an analysis.
"All right. You can go," said James.
Dora remained confused when she left the office of James.
"Why does Dean Broser want to know about Norah?"
"It is so unusual." Dora thought about it for a long time and finally decided to inform Norah.
Norah also looked surprised after hearing the message. "Do you mean Dean Broser wanted to learn
about me from you? And asked about my boyfriend?"
"That's true," Dora nodded.
Recalling the unpleasant moments of James and her, Norah was confused.
She always considered James weird, though she could not tell exactly what was wrong.
After finishing her work in the evening, Norah hoped to leave the hospital as soon as possible.
When she reached the gate, she was finally relieved.
However, the next moment, a car stopped beside her. With the window sliding slowly, James's face
revealed. "Are you going home? I can give you a ride."
"No, thank you, Dean Broser." Norah quickly refused.
Since they were on a busy road, other cars soon began honking behind them.
"Get in!" James insisted. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
More car horns came one after another.
Therefore, Norah had no choice but to get in James's car.
Both James and Norah sat in the back.
Curiously, after Norah got in, James kept his eyes closed without saying a word, seemingly falling
asleep.
Ten minutes later, Norah looked at him, and looked at the neon lights shining out of the window. Finally,
she decided to speak, "Dean Broser, if I have offended you before, I sincerely apologize to you.
However, I haven't intended to charm you. I just want to do my job."
"My mother studied medicine as well, and she used to be a nurse. It was both my dream and hers to be
a doctor, and that's all I want to do."
"If you can forgive me, it will be tolerant of you to return a peaceful working environment to me. If you
can't excuse me, I will consider working in another hospital. It doesn't matter."
After telling all her thoughts, Norah felt much more relaxed.
After all, she didn't have to worry about the issue anymore.
However, James kept sitting back with his eyes closed.
He didn't say a word, neither "I forgive you" nor "I won't forgive you".
Under such a circumstance, Norah became increasingly nervous.
Unless she had to, she was unwilling to leave this hospital because of several reasons.
Firstly, both her mentor and his wife were good to her. They expected great things from her and were
dedicated to nurturing her. Therefore, she didn't want to let them down after all the care and efforts they
had put into her
Besides, she had said that working in this hospital was a goal and ideal shared by her mother and her.
She hoped to fulfill her mother's dream.
Of course, there was one more fundamental reason that this hospital was one of the most famous,
strongest, and top-ranked hospitals in the city and even the whole country.
It was equipped with the most professional, authoritative team, and the most outstanding professors
working here, which was what she craved.
The car continued moving.
But the people in it kept silent.
Norah was in the depths of despair, and was thinking about how to write a resignation letter.
Suddenly, James opened his eyes.
Then he said, "Why do you think I come to you just to find fault with you? What if I am here for an
apology?"
"Well, an apology. I already sincerely apologized to you, didn't I?" Thought Norah.
Norah had no idea. What else did James expect her to do to apologize?
Noticing her expression, James knew she had misunderstood what he said. He sighed and said softly,
"I mean, I apologize to you."
"What? Apologize to me?"
This time Norah was stunned.
"Yes. Norah, I sincerely apologize to you. I'm sorry for being so superficial and self-righteous that I
misunderstood you."
Norah was really shocked. She seemed to be frozen there, forgetting how to react.
What a surprise!
She was flattered, and thought, "Dean Broser has apologized to me? Am I dreaming?"
"Is that true? You mean you apologize to me, Dean Broser?" She asked.
James stared at her and nodded earnestly again. "Don't worry. I am different from before. If you have
time, please let me explain."
Before Norah answered, James began speaking, "My previous impression of you was unfavorable, I
admit. The countless times I made things difficult for you, even going as far as to belittle and satirize
you, was all to see if you would reveal your true self.."
"True self?"
Norah was surprised. "What self can I present given that I'm not a demon?" She thought.
"That's because I have met and known so many people who were eager to seek favor or attention from
me because of my identity and status." James continued with a bitter smile, "To be more
straightforward, someone even seduced me in various ways.
"I've seen so many women like that that when I notice a woman approaching me, I always think that
way instinctively. That's why I considered you as the same.
"And I also said some harsh words and caused some trouble to you. I'm sorry about that."
Norah didn't expect him to apologize to her.
Although she was still in the shadow of what had happened before, she could now understand and
blamed him less after hearing what he said.
"That's one reason, but not the most important reason." Suddenly, James added.
Norah asked, "Then, what is that?"
James looked at her with a deep, penetrating gaze.
It had been a long while before he spoke, in an unusually solemn voice, "That is because you look like
someone."
Look like someone?
Hearing this, the first thing that came to Norah's mind was her birth.
"Perhaps he means I look like my father? And does he happen to know my father?" Thought Norah.
Accordingly, she was extremely excited and grabbed James's clothes. "Like who?"
