Fated For Lycan's Luna (Chloe and Blake)

Chapter 138

Chapter 138

Chloe's POV

"There were three of them. They were being stealthy and tried to mingle with the locals. Actually, they

were pretty skilled. If not for our barriers, we wouldn't notice them." Allan gave his report before

sending me a glance.

We were in my office, at the cabin where I live in the middle of the woods. Right after discovering the

presence of the three werewolves in the town, I immediately sent Allan to investigate.

"But before I could arrive at the town, for some reason, the three of them suddenly turned around and

left…" Allan uttered his concern, a thread of worry woven into his voice.

"This place is pretty hidden… We have never been discovered before. Alpha, could it be that we were

followed when we were returning from the previous assassination?" He was trying to look calm, but he

could not see the concern and anxiety in his eyes.

I met Allan's straightforward gaze. All of us have changed, and that includes Allan.

He has always been an excellent head sentinel in the past. But after that incident five years ago, the

night when the Red Moon Pack fell, the burden of guilt and regret lay heavily upon his shoulder.

Although he didn't say anything, I know that Allan reproached himself for not being able to shield the

pack from harm. In the past five years, he pushed himself to his limits to attain even greater strength

and prowess. Were it not for the exceptional medicines I provided, his relentless pursuit of strength

might have exacted a heavy toll on his own body. Allan became stronger, much stronger than he used Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

to be.

Despite his new strength, Allan never once showed a sign of resistance toward me, who suddenly took

over Vanessa, his mate’s place, as the Alpha.

I could vividly recall the night when Vanessa abdicated her leadership in my favor. In a poignant

gesture of loyalty, in front of everyone, Allan fell to his knees before me, vowing to protect and support

my role as the new Alpha.

Since then, Allan had remained unwaveringly supportive and respectful, to the point that sometimes, he

made me think that he held me in higher regard than even my own father, the previous Alpha. And from

that moment on, he never called me by my name, and only called me by my title.

I furrowed my brows before looking outside the window. I pondered Allan's question…

'Could it be that we might have unwittingly attracted an unwanted following during our return from the

previous mission?' I furrowed my brows before replying,

"That shouldn't be the case. I checked at least five times that night. No one even noticed our presence

while we were in the territory of the Blood Hounds. The chances that we were followed is very low."

"Then… Could it be that those three were just passing sentinels?" Allan frowned. "But their presence

here is strange… Also, I think it's more strange how they suddenly left… I don't have a good feeling

about this…"

I looked at the trees outside the window. The branches of the trees slowly swing with the wind, making

everything look peaceful. But for some reason, the peacefulness seemed fragile, as if it was about to

break. I spent a few seconds staring at the quietness, a foreboding feeling started to appear in my

heart. I sighed before turning to look at Allan.

"Do you have any more information about them? Did a lot of locals see them?" I asked him.

"I've already investigated, only a few locals saw them… all of them thought that they almost didn't

notice the presence of these intruders if not for guiding them through our questions… Based on that

alone, we can already conclude that the intruders are highly-skilled… not a lot of packs have highly-

skilled spies. Alpha, I am afraid they are someone from the Blood Hound Pack…"

"If you give me permission, I will leave the territory to investigate," Allan said, already redying himself to

fulfill my order.

I thought for a while before shaking my head. "That's not necessary."

"Like you said, the intruders are very skilled. If not for the special barriers we specifically put up, you

wouldn't even notice their presence. Allan, I am afraid that instead of helping us, following them now

would only bring us trouble," I added before standing up, intending to leave my office.

"But Alpha, it will be disastrous if our location is already discovered!" Alan started to protest.

“I know. That’s why I am planning on going out to check for myself,” I simply replied.

“Alpha…! We have only just begun… It is not advisable for us to let you move so often like this…” Allan

started to protest.

I remained silent, not because I was contemplating what ALlan said… but because of an aura that I

suddenly felt. My eyes widened before looking at the window.

The aura is extremely faint, it would certainly remain unnoticed by everyone in the pack… that was,

except for me.

I paused for a moment, putting all of my focus on the aura. At first, I was unable to feel anything to

identify the owner of this aura even after I tried to concentrate, but after a few seconds, strangely…

My heart was starting to flutter and beat hard…

“Besides, even if you could fully hide your aura, your countenance would surely stand out to the spies.

They will surely suspect your identity…” Allan continued to convince me otherwise. He was wearing a

worried expression as he said these words, but I was barely able to hold myself back to ever show the

turmoil I had inside.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, clenching my fist as I ordered myself to calm down.

“You need not to worry about that Allan… Did you not know that I already have a perfect cover for

that?” I raised a brow and looked at him.

Allan seemed to know what was coming and had a helpless look on his eyes as he tried to protest one

last time, “But…”

“No buts, just do as I ordered…” I looked at him with warning in my eyes as his body froze. In the end,

he signed and nodded, bidding goodbye to carrying out what I instructed.

After just a few minutes, I heard someone knocking from the door. It did not take that long for another

person to come over. Entering from the door rather shyly was a young teenage girl dressed in the

robes of the pack’s healers.

She had a lively glimmer in her eyes that exudes youth and curiosity that was masked with a shy

demeanor. If not for that bright glimmer in her eyes, I would have always mistaken her as a little chick

that was always lost in the flock.

“T-teacher… Allan said that you called me?” She stood in front of me timidly, while she stuttered.

Looking at her like this makes me feel a wave of headache going on.

“Sigh… Esha… How many times do I have to say that you must not look this timid. What scares you all

the time that you have to look like you are about to be executed?”

“I-im not scared teacher!” Esha immediately retorted, with a flush of red coming on her face and eyes

as if tears were about to fall.

“Then why are you shaking right now?” I asked as I raised my chin to question her.

“N-no… I’m just surprised that you suddenly called for me…” the girl answered. I raised a brow at her

and replied, “Didn’t you say that you wanted to be a full fledged healer? If your demeanor right now

doesn’t change, people would not even trust you… you would not even have a chance to have a

patient.” I told her patiently. When she heard my words, immediately, the girl started protesting.

“No…. I am o-only like this because… because teacher only c-called me after this long!!!” She retorted

with a shivering voice as she cowered even more. Her bright eyes glimmered while looking at me

aggrievedly, “I-i thought teacher a-abandoned me already…wuhuhu..”

I stared at the girl fondly, subconsciously remembering the time when I was also studying medicine

from my teacher. However, those were some memories I tried to bury deep inside me. Thus, I shook

my head, forcefully forgetting them.

“Well, I didn’t forget about you. Actually, I called you here to bring you on a mission,” I told Esha.

“A mission?” My words immediately made Esha stop crying as she looked at me with twinkling eyes.

Seeing her reaction, I could not help but laugh out loud.

“Yes, a mission,” I repeated.

“Get ready. I will bring you to the town.”

“The two of us are going to make an investigation about… the intruders that suddenly came to our

territory.”
