Ella’s curiosity got the better of her, and she asked more questions about Maria. “So, is she beautiful? I mean, lit and tall?”
Teresa smiled, realizing Ella was extremely jealous and still had feelings for Evan. “Oh, yes! Maria is gorgeous. She’s not just Evan’s colleague but also a great family friend. His parents might have even wanted her as their daughter-in-law. Teresa exaggerated a little. “She’s a stunning woman with long blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.”
Ella nodded, trying to compose herself. “I see. And how often does she visit Evan? Is it just a formal meeting, or does she even drop by at the house?
Teresa noticed Ella’s flushed face and her pursed lips, signs of her inner turmoil.
“She usually visits on weekends, Teresa said. “It’s not a formal meeting. They share ideas about work, but she drops by for coffee. Evan’s a handsome man, and many girls try to woo him.” Teresa smiled, noticing Ella’s sad face. “Even Sarah, the secretary, has tried to flirt with him. But Evan’s a bit of a perfectionist, and Sarah’s exceptional organizational skills have caught his attention. She’s trying to get in his good books.”
Ella’s eyes widened. “Oh, yes! I saw Sarah. The tall brunette girl with a killer figure.” She placed a hand on her stomach, a mix of anxiety and nervousness on her face. “My figure’s not so bad, but I’ll be getting fat in a few months.”
Teresa chuckled, “How does it matter to you, anyway? You’ve already broken up with him, and you were only together for two years. We’ve heard every conversation between you both, so even if he’s romantically involved with someone, how would it affect you?”
Alan nodded, smiling slightly. “Of course, how does it matter to me? I hate him anyway. I’ll get back to sleep. I’m really tired. It’s already quite late at night.” She gave a dismissive wave. “Alright, miss, if you ever need anything, just press the bell, and I’ll be there.”
As she walked out of the room, her mission was already accomplished to ignite the buried feelings inside Ella’s heart.
Ella lay down on the bed, her mind already racing with images of Maria and Sara flirting with the father of her child. “She’s right, why does it matter to me? I hate that man. Even though he apologized, it doesn’t mean I’ve started liking him. I’m only doing this for my child and my career. After two years, I won’t even see his face.”
The girl tilted her body slightly and placed her hands on her stomach. “Goodnight, my little sweetheart. I hope you’re comfortable inside my belly. Mama loves you so much already.” She spoke with a warm smile and instantly dozed off to sleep, feeling extremely tired.
Meanwhile, Evan was already on the phone with his therapist, Dr. Welling, and his uncle, Dr. Welling. “Hello, Doctor. Sorry for calling you at this hour.”
Dr. Weelling sounded a little concerned. “What happened, Evan? Is everything alright?”
Evan took a deep breath before confessing. “Doctor, I did it again. I lost it with Ella because she had boyfriend in the past, after our breakup.” He paused, collecting his thoughts. “Lknow it’s not an excuse, but I feel so threatened by the thought of her moving on.”
Dr. Welling listened attentively, offering words of encouragement and guidance. “Evan, let’s unpack this. Why do you feel threatened by Ella’s boyfriend?”
Evan exhaled sharply. “Maybe because I still have feelings for her, Doctor. I know
I messed up, but I just can’t tolerate the thought of her being with somebody else. I’m really protective about her. You know, in these past five years, I couldn’t even think about any other girl. How can she do that!”
Dr. Welling interjected, “Evan, it’s important to recognize that Ella’s moved on, and you need to respect her boundaries. Your feelings are valid, but you must work on yourself and not project your insecurities

onto her.”
Dr. Welling continued. “And you don’t know anything about her relationship. Maybe it just ended in 2 days or 2 months. Besides, if she’s found someone who made her happy at that time, it’s a good thing. Maybe it was a rebound.” He tried to explain in a calm manner possible.
But Evan’s emotions got the better of him. “But what about me? What about my happiness, Doctor? When will I ever be happy?” Tears rolled down from his eyes.
Dr. Welling’s voice was firm but compassionate. “Evan, your happiness depends on your own growth and self-work. Now that you have a child on the way, focus on becoming a better version of yourself. You’re going to be a father, and you need to be a responsible one. You can’t control Ella’s life, so work o building your own self-esteem and removing all your trust issues.
Evan let out a deep sigh, realizing his mistake. “You’re right, Doctor. I actually need to work a lot on myself now that I’m going to be a father soon and I have a pregnant lady in my house.”
Dr. Welling nodded. “That’s very good that you at least acknowledge your mistakes, Evan. Recognizing your flaws is the first step towards growth”
Dr. Welling encouraged Evan to make amends. “You need to show Ella that you’re committed to change. I know you said some hurtful things, but a sincere gesture can help her see your efforts.”
modded, feeling guilty. I’m not sure she’ll believe me, Doctor. I said some really nasty
things.”
Dr. Welling offered a suggestion. “Plan a special gesture to show her you’re truly sorry. Something thoughtful and meaningful to make up for your behavior.”
Evan looked confused. Like what? I have no idea what to do.”
Dr. Welling smiled. “You dated her for four years, Evan I’m sure you know what she loves and what’s special to her. It could be a small gift, something heartfelt, or even a surprise. Show her you’re willing to listen and change yourself. Show her you’re willing to understand her perspective.
He added a gentle warning. “Remember, Ella’s pregnant, and she’ll have terrible mood swings. If you behave insensitively, your relationship will only be strained, and the baby will be affected.”
Evan’s eyes sparkled as he nodded his head in approval, I got it! I know what to do. Thank you so much, Doctor. I know actions speak louder than words. I will show her that I can build this relationship into something very amicable.”
He ended the call and made a few quick calls, his mind racing with ideas. He knew exactly what Ella loved, and he set out to make it happen. He walked towards her room, his footsteps silent on the floor. He slowly opened the door and tiptoed inside, where a dim light cast a warm glow from one corner. Evan sat down on the bed, gazing at the girl who lay in deep slumber.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
He took in her porcelain skin, her long eyelashes, her delicate hands, and the way she curled up her body. He thought to himself, “Maybe the karaoke night can wait.” He exhaled sharply, having arranged a perfect karaoke night for the two of them, knowing she absolutely loved such parties.
With a newfound determination, Evan sat beside Ella, his presence gentle and unobtrusive.
Evan’s gaze fell on a tiny strand of brown hair that had fallen on Ella’s face, seemingly disturbing her as her
eyes flickered. He gently brushed the hair away, his fingers lightly touching her cheek. A sense of warmth enveloped his body, a feeling he hadn’t experienced since his parents passed away.
He thought to himself, “What is it about you, Ella? What is it about your that I can’t find in anyone else? Why can’t I just get over you?” He couldn’t help but admire her beautiful skin, her features so delicate and pretty even in sleep.
Evan sat there for several more minutes, taking deep breaths as he gazed at her face. He thought, “She looks so pretty when she’s asleep. He exhaled sharply, realizing that his feelings for her were resurfacing again. He placed his hand on his chest, as if trying to calm his heart. “No, Evan, you cannot fall for her again. It’s just for two years. Remember, don’t fall in love with her again.”
Evan nodded to himself in disapproval and stood up from the seat, inhaling her natural body fragrance

scent of strawberry shampoo and vanilla body lotion that she still used. The intoxicating smell made him turn to look at her again, and he gazed at her for a few more seconds before walking towards the door.
Just as he was about to leave the room, he heard the girl mumble something in her dream. “No, Dad! No, Dad! Don’t beat her. She is my mother. Why are you doing this to me? Don’t slap me. You killed my mother. No, I am not weak!”
Evan’s expression changed to shock as he realized the girl was having another nightmare. He rapidly walked back towards the bed and looked at Ella, who was still trapped in her dream. Sweat beads formed on her body, and her hands seemed to be trembling. She was in a deep state of slumber, constantly frowning and mumbling. “Mother, please wake up. You cannot leave me.” Tears rolled down her eyes, and Evan gently placed his hand on her forehead, trying to comfort her.
Evan gently placed his hand on her forehead, just like he used to do five years ago. “It’s okay, I’m here with you. Relax, hello. Relax…” He spoke softly, trying to calm her down as she took deep breaths, her forehead beading with sweat.
But the girl continued to mumble, “No more!” Evan’s heart went out to her, and he knew he had to do something. He couldn’t bear to leave her in such distress. So, he removed his blazer and shoes and crawled into bed beside her, hugging her tightly.
As they embraced, the girl’s body relaxed, and she hugged him back, even in her sleep. Evan felt a warmth and protectiveness wash over him, and he continued to pat her head and back, trying to comfort her without giving in to his own desires. Tears rolled down his eyes as he held her close, finally reuniting with the girl he had longed to hold for five long years. The moment he had desperately waited for had finally come, and it was more unexpected than he could have ever imagined.
He felt a surge of emotions he’d been denying for far too long. The warmth of her body, the softness of her skin, and the sweet scent of her hair all combined to overwhelm him. He felt his heart race, his pulse pounding in his temples, as he struggled to contain the feelings he’d been trying to keep at bay.
The anguish in her eyes, the despair in her voice, and the tremble of her body all tore at his soul. He felt a lump form in his throat, his eyes stinging with tears he couldn’t shed. He wanted to erase the pain, to take away the hurt, to make her whole again.
As he held her close, he felt the weight of their past, the memories they’d shared, and the love they’d on known. He realized that his feelings for her had never truly faded, that they’d been simmering just below. the surface, waiting to be reignited.
