Kemp Apartment. Saul sent Elaina to the foot of the apartment building.

“Thank you for today.” Elaina thanked him again.

“You have already thanked me several times. You don’t have to be so polite.” Saul

pretended to be unhappy and said, “If you really want to thank me, treat me to a meal someday. You’ve promised me this.”

“Okay, I will.” Elaina nodded.

“Go in and rest early,” Saul said.

Elaina had only taken two steps when she heard Saul say, “I’ve ordered food for you.

Remember to eat later.”

“Okay, thank you.” Elaina nodded in surprise. At this time, it seemed that “thank you”

was all she needed to say.

She walked into the building and disappeared from Saul’s sight.

The smile on Saul’s face disappeared. He leaned against the car and lit a cigarette.

Halfway through the cigarette, he saw a car not far away. It stopped in front of him a Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

moment later.

Saul smiled. He threw the unfinished cigarette on the ground and stubbed it out with his

foot. “Jalen, it seems that you will lose to me this time.”

Jalen rolled down the car window, his black eyes devoid of emotions. “You did all this

just to win against me?”

“Of course.” He nodded. He must win against Jalen once in his life.

However, Jalen was enraged. “She is a person, not a tool for us to compete over.

“True. If not for you, maybe I would admire her very much. Maybe I would really fall in

love with her.” Saul sighed. Unfortunately, his hatred determined that he would stop at

nothing to achieve his goal.

“You are so childish.” After that, Jalen started the car and drove into the apartment

complex.

Cat Bunur

Saul shrugged and said indifferently, “Childish? Maybe.

“But as long as I can beat you once, why can’t I be childish?”

Jalen came out of the underground parking lot and went straight into the elevator.

Saul’s actions annoyed him very much.

When he walked to his door and was about to open it, he subconsciously looked toward

Elaina’s door. Then he was stunned.

Not closed?

So careless of her!

Thinking this, Jalen had already walked to Elaina’s door.

Why weren’t the lights on?

Jalen frowned. Was she alright?

Thinking of this, Jalen pushed the door open and walked in.

With the help of the moonlight outside the window, Jalen looked around and did not see

anyone. Just as he was worried, he suddenly heard a moan of pain from the sofa.

“Dr. Gainsford?”

No one answered him. In fact, Elaina heard him, but the pain in her stomach made her

unable to say a word.

Jalen found the switch in the living room and turned on the light. He saw that the

person lying on the sofa was indeed Elaina.

Elaina was rolling on the sofa in pain. Her forehead was covered with cold sweat, and

her face was pale as if she would faint the next second.

“Dr. Gainsford, what’s wrong? What gives you pain?” Jalen walked over, crouched

down, and asked.

“Stomach… My stomach,” she cried out in pain.

“Stomachache? Do you have any medicine at home?” he asked, his eyes filled with

worry.

Elaina did not speak. She only shook her head.

Blame it on her bad luck. Elaina did not eat dinner today. When her stomach hurt, she

wanted to take medicine. However, she found that she had run out of medicine, so she

could only roll around at home in pain.

She wanted to ask Jalen to buy her some medicine, but before she could say it, she saw

Jalen get up and disappear from the living room.

He was gone?

No way. Was he trying to take the opportunity to retaliate against her? After all, she had tried to scare Jalen in the elevator yesterday by saying that she would turn off the

flashlight.

At this moment, Elaina was extremely regretful. She had brought this upon herself!

Now that Jalen had left, she hoped she could survive this damned pain.
