“After you finish cleaning the pool, you should also cook something good because Jacob is coming today,” Dale said while he was standing at the kitchen door.

“All right. Anything else?”

“Have you seen the list? Those were Jacob’s favorite so make sure to prepare all of it,” he instructed.

“You also wrote that in the list, Dale. Can’t you see that I am preparing the ingredients right now?”

I asked but when he kept on standing at the doorway, I narrowed my eyes at him. When I raised the tip of my eyebrow, he just grinned as if there was something funny.

“Do you have something else to tell me, Dale?”

“No more,” Dale angrily left the kitchen.

For a moment, I wondered what was wrong with him. Lately, I noticed that he has become moody every single day. There were times when I wanted to talk to him about it, but I decided not to worry about his feelings anymore.

After all, he was so cruel when it comes to me. It’s about time I should give a damn about him anymore! If he wanted to use me in his plan for revenge, then, so be it. However, I decided to guard my heart for the time being.

I decided that I should just mind my own life, and as long as he would pay me handsomely being his slave and a tool, then I believed it would be acceptable.

Around eleven o’clock in the morning, I finished everything. I am done cleaning the pool; I finished cooking his friend’s favorite food; and of course, the entire house was cleaned. Supposedly, I would rest after doing everything, but Dale told me to be on standby mode because of Jacob.

“Amber…,” Dale called my name while I was about to return to my room to take a quick shower.

“What is it, Master Dale? Do you need something else?”

“Jacob has arrived, please bring us some cold beers at the pool,” Dale ordered.

For a moment, I frowned because Alpha Jacob came earlier than expected. However, it’s just for a few seconds, because I immediately reminded myself that as his slave, I should always obey him. After a while of convincing myself to remain calm and nice, I smiled at him, and I was ready to do whatever he wanted me to do.

“How many bottles?”

“A bucket will do, and don’t forget to put a lot of ice cubes in the bucket,” he ordered.

“Okay, I’ll just bring it to the pool in a few minutes,” I replied with a smile.

How long should I endure his maltreatment of me?

When I got to the pool with a bucket of beer, I was embarrassed when they both looked at me. Dale was extremely handsome and Alpha Jacob was drop-dead gorgeous!

Both men were pleasant to look at, but my eyes only focused on Dale. Still, I was embarrassed in front of Alpha Jacob especially when he was obviously staring at me.

“Just put it here and go back inside, Amber. Then, prepare a guest room for Alpha Jacob,” Dale told me.

“Of course, Dale,” I answered.

Since yesterday, I wanted to rest properly but Dale asked me to run a lot of errands for him. He asked me to do the laundry, and then today, he has a guest. He really wanted to exhaust all of my energy.

“Clean his room thoroughly, okay? Alpha Jacob shouldn’t sleep in a room with a speck of dust,” he reminded me.

Then, I realized that Dale was trying to make me feel so inferior in front of Alpha Jacob. Dale wanted to make me feel so embarrassed of my low status. Then, I heard him criticize me in front of Alpha Jacob. Then, the Alpha laughed as if it was a laughing matter.

For a moment, I wondered what was going on inside Dale’s head. I am already his slave, so there’s no reason to do all of those backhanded things to humiliate me as a woman with low birth status.

“Which guest room will he use?” I inquired to change the topic.

“Are you stupid? Anything as long as it’s clean!”

He raised his voice at me. It was humiliating to be yelled at when someone was around, but I had to keep my cool. I just bowed my head before leaving to start preparing the guest room.

Actually, my legs were tired from working since four in the morning. I really wanted to take a hot shower because it would always help me to relax my muscles.

From the swimming pool, I went straight upstairs, and then I choose a room next to Dale’s bedroom. While I changed the bed cover, my arms hurt a lot because the mattresses in the room were all heavy, and I had to lift them to place the bedspread properly.

After changing the bed sheet, I also change the curtains and then vacuumed the entire room. I was about to finish when Dale suddenly entered.

“What’s wrong with you, Dale? You startled me! You always pop up like a mushroom! Anyway, do you need anything?”

“You should bring a towel to the pool and give it to Jacob,” he ordered.

“Okay,” I replied.

When he ordered me to bring a towel for Alpha Jacob, I thought that he was not going back to the pool, but he followed me with his own towel. He could have brought the towel himself, instead of asking me to bring it to Alpha Jacob!

But of course, I couldn’t complain, so I just tried to calm down. Then, I took a deep breath, several deep breaths to remain calm.

I continued walking toward the pool, while Dale was following me. A few minutes later, I was getting closer to the outdoor pool. Actually, I still couldn’t understand why Dale had several swimming pools in his residence. There was an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, and a pool on the rooftop. Was he richer than the Alpha?

“Oh, my God!”

I immediately covered my eyes with the towel I was carrying, and then I tried to retreat. I was going back to where I came from but Dale was already there.

“What’s wrong? Didn’t I order you to give that towel to Jacob? Where do you think you’re going, Amber?”

Dale was really a bastard. He didn’t even tell me that Alpha Jacob was swimming in the pool without anything on. The Alpha was naked as a wee baby!

“Hey, Amber! Is there something wrong? Answer me, bitch!”

“Nothing, Dale,” I replied, and then I gave him the towel before trying to walk away but Dale quickly grabbed my wrist and stopped me from leaving.

“Where are you going, bitch?”

“Let me go, please. You are hurting me!”

I struggled to get away from his tight grip.

“Give that to Jacob first before you go back inside,” he ordered.

“I’m sorry but I can’t do that, Dale,” I told him.

“Can you tell me why?”

“He’s naked, for goodness sake!”

“Wait, did you just raise your voice at me, Amber? Have you forgotten who you are? Stop making a fuss and give it to Jacob!”

“I’m sorry,” I apologize for being disobedient.

Slowly, I walked away from Dale and strolled toward Alpha Jacob. I expected to see him naked again but luckily, he was already wearing a robe. But still, I have already seen him in his naked state.

“Dale told me you need a towel, Alpha Jacob,” I mumbled in a barely audible voice because I wasn’t confident to face him again.

Actually, there were some features on Alpha Marcus on his son’s face! It was as if I was looking at Alpha Marcus again.

“Oh yes, thank you very much, Amber. By the way, how are you doing? Do you like working here or in my residence?”

When he asked me that question, I became nervous. Dale told me that his Luna was already suspicious about me, and the baby inside my tummy. Should I do what’s needed to be done to keep my baby safe?

“I am good, Alpha Jacob, thank you for asking about my welfare,” I replied.

“Did my Beta tell you about your marriage with my brother?” he asked.

“Yes, he did, Alpha Jacob. He always reminded me that getting married to your brother will be advantageous to me,” I repeated what Dale had said to me in the past.

“Of course, it is. The countryside will be good for you and your child, Amber. Can you tell me now who is responsible for your pregnancy? Was it my father?”

For a moment, I was rendered speechless. If I would tell him the truth, then Dale would be so mad at me. In the middle of my dilemma, Dale came smilingly. He intentionally disrupted my conversation with the Alpha to keep our secret.

Dale once mentioned that Jacob was a rogue who slept with countless women. If I would tell him that I once slept with him, then there was a chance that Alpha Jacob would believe it.

Besides, I once serve him in his residence when he assumed the role of an Alpha, and he had just gotten married to his Luna.

“Stop it, Jacob. Everything with a skirt is good for you. Get lost, Amber,” Dale said.

“Dale…,” I murmured.

“Go back inside now!” he yelled.
