Fall For Me

Chapter 10

I can’t believe this was happening, one minute I was on a date with Andrew, and the next minute, I was in a stranger’s house talking about a marriage proposal, Who would’ve thought?

why can’t my heart stop beating fast? What is this rush all of a sudden? Before I could ponder one more second on my thoughts, Carson spoke, “Welcome to my home, have your seat” Why was he in such a mood? Does he think I will marry him? The audacity!, I was about to sit close to my other but Carson objected “The bride should sit close to the groom, don’t you think so?” He asked this question staring deep into my eyes, I could see everyone’s eyes widen at this statement, I could see my dad was ready to reply to him but my mom had to calm his nerves by placing her hand on his thigh, I got up and went over to Carson and he cheekily said “Now that’s much better” At this point on one said anything not even pleasantries were being exchanged.

I wondered what today’s outcome would be either way I want this whole charade to be done with so I can finally move past this. My dad cleared his throat ready to speak

“As per your invitation you spoke about marriage,” My dad said, Carson smiled.

“We should talk about this when we’re done eating” Carson advised. My dad was not willing to eat as he only came here for the sake of his daughter “Young man, I demand an explanation for all this” My dad said

“Okay since you’re not hungry, you can have your leave” Everyone was so shocked, he was so rude and arrogant, I mean you called us just to send us back? “What do you mean? My dad inquired

“I mean you can get up and leave now,” Carson said as he was cutting a piece of meat. “This was a complete waste of time, girls, let’s go” My dad ordered us, as we all stood up to leave Carson cleared his throat “All but my new bride”

Huh? What did he just say? My mom got annoyed and asked “You need to be clear, we don’t have time to waste, we’re not your puppets”

“I believe I was clear from the onset,” Carson said and smirked. We couldn’t believe what exactly we were hearing and we all knew we didn’t want to be there anymore, my Dad got up in annoyance

“I don’t know the kind of sick game you’re playing but keep my family out of it” My dad spitted

“Funny how you think I’m playing games,” Carson said uninterested in what my dad was talking about, such disrespect I thought to myself, who does he think he is?

“Why are we here?” Carmen said calmly, They all knew the grounds for their invitation but they needed to be clear about their stand of not succumbing to his silly games

“You seem reasonable, I want to marry her,” Carson said pointing directly at me and our eyes widened at this, and I could see my dad about to flare up in anger.

“I don’t know why I’m still here listening to this rubbish,” My dad said angrily

“Oh rubbish?” Carson smirked and I was the last piece of steak he had left on his page

“Let’s leave” My dad signaled to us. We all hesitantly stood up to leave. Just when we were about to reach the entrance of the dining room we heard a voice.

“Not so fast.” Carson sat back in his chair and crossed his legs. We halted and turned to meet him. Why exactly was he stopping us? Now I’ve had enough of his shenanigans, I just need this day to be behind me once and for all.

“Leave my bride” Carson insisted, I’m sure he’s out of his mind.

“We are all leaving here” My dad insisted.

“Benson, come in,” Carson said in a loud voice, in less than a minute his minion came running in with two muscular bodyguards, This must surely be a dream.

“This is outrageous,” My mom said, I was still standing there in disbelief, I was already clinging to the arm of Carmen, and I just wanted to go home.

“Leave. My. Bride” Carson verbalized aggressively

This has to be a joke, A silly joke at that, what kind of a man is this? Forcing a family to give up their daughter for marriage I thought this only happens in movies, This must be a joke, I couldn’t stand it anymore.

“Look Mister, I don’t want to play your sick game,” I said sternly, He smiled so widely.

“She speaks, how lovely” He uttered, what a narcissistic man. He was serious about this, I’m not some property, I can’t just follow his word.

“We’re leaving now,” I said firmly

“No you’re not,” Carson said while laughing heartilyOwned by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Is this some sort of joke to you?” Carmen said angrily

Gwen hadn’t said a word so far and normally she is usually the first person to talk and share her opinions but she was oddly quiet.

“No it is not, I am serious” Carson replied

“This is harassment,” My mom said angrily

“No it’s not, We can do this the easy way or hard way,” Carson said with a serious tone, He wasn’t letting this go.

My family couldn’t believe what exactly was going on, This isn’t what they planned.

“Take her to her room” Carson commanded one of the bodyguards and before I knew it a big strong man was coming towards me, My dad broke down

“Please you can’t do this to us, Let her go” My dad pleaded

“We came with three daughters please let us leave with three” My mom chipped in

“We can do this the right way please this is wrong” Carmen expressed her unhappiness. Carson walked up to me slowly, The sound of this shoe was echoing loudly in the room. He held my chin and said…..
