Chapter 34: So Familiar
Edited by Lord Immortal
This was the first time I had seen Su Chengzhao’s cold and grim side. In the past, he had been as warm as the spring.
Suddenly the atmosphere became tense, and less than a moment later, I heard the man declare ruthlessly, “Well, let’s see if you can take this woman out today! Everyone, beat him!”
As soon as he stopped talking, I could hear footsteps and bestial words.
I panicked and grabbed Su Chengzhao’s arm. He hugged me tightly. His voice was cold and angry. “Everyone, come in the room now!”
As soon as the words came to an end, chaotic footsteps and the angry voice of the man burst out. He didn’t realize that Su Chengzhao had brought people along. At this moment, although I couldn’t see it, I could hear the sounds of fighting all around.
“Don’t be afraid. I won’t let anything happen to you.” Su Chengzhao hugged me tightly as my heart ached. He buried my head in his arms. I listened to his beating heart and murmured in a low voice, “I’m sorry…”
The murmuring voice was lost in this noisy and chaotic room. Su Chengzhao questioned, but the next second he suddenly snorted and loosened his arms.
I was thrown to the ground, and suddenly coldness and fear wrapped me up again.
“Are you OK? Where are you? Please talk to me?” I felt anxious and slapped around. The muffled hum hit my heart and my body trembled. I didn’t know what happened to Su Chengzhao. Was he hurt?
I shook my head in a panic, and I could not stop crying. “Don’t scare me, Chengzhao. Where are you?”
Just as I was stumbling forward in the dark, a strong cold wind came in my ear, and almost the next moment, I was held by a pair of powerful arms, and there was a muffled hum in my ear again.
The voice was familiar and strange. I touched his chest, but I was held tightly by a pair of big hands. The hoarse voice came into my ear and said, “I’m all right.”
“Chengzhao, are you hurt?” I touched him in a panic, but found that his body was stiffened, and a sigh sounded over my head but no more voice came.
I anxiously opened my mouth and kept asking. Su Chengzhao’s silence made me more frightened. Suddenly, a pain in the back of my neck swept over me with a dizziness. When I fainted, there was a sigh in my ear, mixed with the three words, “I’m sorry.”
The voice was so familiar and strange.
Are you Su Chengzhao?
But why do I feel it is not him.
Without much thought, I fainted.
When I woke up again, it was quiet. I didn’t know where I was, and I didn’t know what had happened to Su Chengzhao either.
I fumbled around and couldn’t stop calling Su Chengzhao’s name. Suddenly, my hands were wrapped in a big hand, and a warm voice sounded over my head. “I am here.”
Those two words relaxed my tense nerves. He took me to the bed. I grabbed his neck, but I heard him murmur something. Then there was something warm in my hand.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
With a tremor in my heart, I took back my hand and hid it behind me. I whispered, “Chengzhao, I am thirsty.”
Su Chengzhao hummed with no word and put me on the bed. I waited for a moment, and when the sound of footsteps faded, I put my hand near my nose which was full of bloody smell.
My heart ached. I held my hands tightly. I couldn’t wait any longer. I staggered outside and shouted, “Chengzhao, Su Chengzhao, where are you?”
