Chapter 195: I Heard You Get Married
Chapter 195: I Heard You Get Married
She was dressed in black, with a long blue coat casually arranged over it. She sat with her legs crossed, sipping a small cup of tea, and her eyes looking away. The hand she held on her knee was white and slender. The glittering diamond ring between her fingers was expensive.
He stood for a few seconds. He waved the waiter back, and then he took off his mask and sunglasses. He walked with long legs, and lightly called her, "Ella."
After hearing the voice, the woman was shocked. She slowly turned her head to reveal her cold face. Her face softened when she saw the man approaching.
The man pulled up the chair opposite her, he sat down casually, and he smiled, "Ella, you still enjoy your life."
The woman slightly raised the corners of her mouth. She raised her hand and poured him a small cup of tea. Her voice was soft, "when did you come back? I didn't hear anything from you either."
The man picked up the glass. He looked down and sniffed. He gulped it down. He took a breath, and he said casually, "I've been back for half a year, but I haven't been to Washington. That's why I haven't contacted you. Ella, don't be mad at me."
The woman looked down at the green tea in the purple sand cup. Her eyelashes fluttered and she said softly, "you've been in constant contact with me while you've been abroad. Has something happened to you?"
He was a few sessions behind her, but they were alumni. They met at a debate competition, where he was a contestant and she was a judge. They gradually got to know each other. She cultivated him as her younger brother, and he didn't disappoint her either, except that he had disappeared suddenly from her sight.
However, she never took the initiative to pay attention to anyone. In addition, she had been preoccupied with one man for a year. As a result, she gradually ignored all the outside voices.
The expression on the man's extremely young and handsome face faded, but he quickly regained his smile, "Ella, I can't hide anything from you. I've got something wrong, but I can handle it myself."
The woman's cold eyes glanced at his handsome face, "Aaron, you've been gone for half a year. It seems that what you said is not easy for you to deal with. Can I help you?"
This young man was Aaron who told Cathy to meet his classmate. In contrast to his usual frivolous and impetuous temper, he was a different man inside and out at this moment. Not just his temperament, his eyes also looked sharp and mature, and he smiled steadily and calmly.
"No, I really just wanted to see you today."
The woman stared at him deeply, "what are you doing now? Are you going to continue working or going abroad after finishing your personal business?"
Aaron paused and answered truthfully, "I'm working right now."
The woman put down the cup, and her hands folded slowly in her lap. When she heard what he said, she raised her arched and thin eyebrows, "work? Where do you work?"
He came back suddenly. Was he just looking for a job?
Aaron looked at the goldfish in the pool near his feet. His pupils contracted and there was a flash of gloom, "I worked just in a small company."
The woman looked at him and immediately understood, "I don't care about your personal business, but when can you finish your personal business?"
Aaron was a little shocked. He put down his cup, looked over at her and said, "what's wrong?"
The woman didn't beat around the bush. Her red lips curved in a smile and she said directly, "when you're done, you quit your job and I'll find you another place to work."
The man smiled, "where? The Brook Group? If the salary is good, I can consider it."
"No!" The woman calmly said, "you go to work at the Feng Rui company."
It was she who cultivated his abilities herself, so she knew his abilities, and naturally she trusted him more.
Something flashed across Aaron's eyes. He glanced at her wedding ring, and he smiled, "I heard you get married and I didn't get an invitation. When can I see him? Is he kind to you?"
The woman turned her eyes to the water and rubbed the ring on her ring finger with her finger pulp. There was a thick emotion in her eyes, "we didn't have a wedding, so we didn't send you an invitation. You want to see him, but I don't think he has time now."
Aaron looked down. "James." The word came from his thin lips.
The woman was Ella. She was slightly stunned and surprised, "have you seen him?"
She just mentioned Feng Rui company, so Aaron could guess that the man was James and she was not surprised, but when she heard Aaron's tone, it was obvious that they knew each other. She was surprised.
Aaron nodded casually, "I met him at the party, but he didn't see me."
He didn't say anything about James and Cathy or anything about them in Chicago. On the one hand, he thought it was too long, and on the other hand, he didn't want to make it too complicated.
"By the way, Ella, I hope you don't mention me to James until this is over on my side. If I intend to stay in domestic after this, I will certainly look for him myself."
Ella thought for a moment. She nodded, "that's all right. You can tell me if you need any help."Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
At the hotel, Cathy was still making out with the man on the sofa when a rather unpleasant phone call came in. The vibration of the phone startled Cathy. Her head suddenly woke up after being kissed. She pushed away him with a flushed face. She said with great embarrassment, "I think it was a phone call to me."
She gasped and she got up to look for her phone.
She followed the ring tone, and she found her mobile phone in the bedside table. She habitually looked at the note on the phone, and she slightly stunned. She turned her head to look at the man and said, "James called me."
Tyrone opened his eyes and his eyes looked cold suddenly.
Before the cell phone continued to ring, Cathy answered the phone, "hello, James."
"Cathy, are you at the hotel?" She heard James' usual soft voice.
Cathy compressed her lips slightly, "yes, James. What can I do for you?"
"I didn't treat you well when you came to Washington. I was too busy this morning. I hope you don't mind. I don't know whether you are free this evening. I will ask my secretary to arrange it. I will treat you to dinner and I will talk to you about the cooperation with your company before."
Cathy narrowed her pretty eyes and there was a slight chill in her eyes.
He wouldn't let his secretary call her. He was afraid she would refuse. He was now inviting her to dinner under the pretext of discussing their previous cooperation... Ha ha...Wasn't he trying to make her go to dinner?
But she couldn't think of any good way at the moment. James already knew what she was up to this time. If she doesn't try, she'll have wasted her time.
She curled her lips and smiled, "I don't have plans for the evening, so James, I'll see you later."
"Okay, I'll ask my secretary to send you the time and address."
"Well, thank you James."
She didn't want to talk to him at all. She thanked him and hung up immediately.
She held the phone, and she raised her chin to Tyrone, "he's going to invite us to dinner tonight, but not including you."
Tyrone tilted his head. He smiled slowly, but his eyes looked cold, "he's so busy right now that he doesn't have time for important clients, but he's taking time out to dine with you."
Cathy frowned, "he didn't dine with me alone. There are others to eat with us!"
Although she also felt that James was targeting her and he didn't seem to be paying any attention to her company. Otherwise, why didn't he even look at the project proposal she sent him half a month ago?
